My head hurt profusely.
That was what woke me up, it felt as though my brain was getting to big for my head.
I cracked my eyes open and groaned.
When I leaned up, everything spun and I groaned again deciding to lay back down. I pressed my palm into my forehead and closed my eyes trying to push away the drumming that persisted.
"Has anyone ever told you that you're completely infuriating?"
My eyes snapped open and found Loki sitting in a chair across from the bed.
"Were you watching me?" I snapped at him, everything from the last five hours playing through my head like some sick slideshow as it call came back to me.
"You were restless, I wasn't sure if you were having a fit." He shrugged, leaning his head back against the wall.
I faintly remembered dreaming of a collapsing tunnel and fire.
I cheeks heated at the thought of him watching me have a nightmare.
I leaned up slowly and realized that my glasses were gone, it hadn't been headache that had made my vision blurry.
"Shit" I whispered squinting to see if they were on the bed around me.
I heard Loki stand up.
"Don't come near me." I seethed shooting a glare at him as he stood beside the bed.
"I wouldn't dream of it, you're disgustingly filthy."
I looked down at myself, mud was caked to my pants and shoes, my arms were slightly covered as well, I didn't even want to see what my hair might look like.
"Take me home." I demanded.
I was banged up, tired and hungry, and so over being a prisoner.
He looked down at me but stayed quiet in that annoying way he did when he had nothing of use to say.
"Loki." I said rubbing my face trying to relieve some of the stress. "Please just take me home."
"I can't do that, without you know one will think twice about killing me, or throwing me back in prison." He scoffed.
"Yea, that happens when you're a fucking terrible person."
He snarled and went for the door but I stood on wobbly legs and followed, grabbing his wrist before he could get to far.
"Don't you dare leave me again."
He looked back at me over his shoulder.
"I was only trying to please you." He sneered giving me a mean smirk.
"You think I wanted you to leave me in the middle of nowhere, during a storm? I don't want to play your games, it wasn't funny."
I dropped his wrist when he looked down to where my dirty hand had gripped him.
I didn't want to feel self conscious in front of him, but I couldn't help wiping away some of the mud on my arms.
"You're kind are incredibly weak and helpless. It's pathetic."
I paused trying to clean myself up and glared at him.
How could someone be so self righteously infuriating?
I'd never wanted to beat the pulp out of someone so much in my life, and I hardly considered myself a violent person.
We stared at each other in a silent battle.
His green eyes and my blue ones.
Our breath mingled in the middle between us.
His face relaxed a little and his lips turned up at the corners in the ghost of a cocky smile.
His hand came up behind my neck and I felt myself being pulled in towards him.
His lips had just brushed mine when my hands flew up to his chest and shoved as hard as I could.
I heard his back collide with the door as he tripped back.
"What the hell do you think you're doing?" I shouted wiping my mouth.
"Were we not having a moment?" He chuckled.
"No. Not ever, never." I snapped.
"Don't act so offended, there's plenty of women that would have loved the opportunity." He shrugged, but I could see the anger swirling in his eyes again.
Poor prince Loki didn't like rejection.
"I'm not one of them."
He jutted his chin up and slid his hand over the door, turning the handle and popping the door open.
"Loki!" I warned.
"I'm going to get something to eat, clean yourself up you smell like a pig." He threw at me before sliding out and slamming the door behind him.
What a child.
I let out a growl of frustration and turned on my heel, searching for a bathroom.
It was a tiny thing, the shower was a glorified corner and the toilet was squatty, turning a little orange from lack of cleaning around the base.
I sighed and pulled off my filthy clothes, dropping them on the floor and turning on the water.
It took way to long to heat up but when I stepped under the spray, the water running down my clammy body was heaven.
The floor splattered with brown mud and stray clippings of grass. A few small pebbles even tumbled out of my hair as I rinsed myself vigorously.
The hot water ran out long before I was ready to get out, but I turned off the knob and exited the shower anyway.
I grabbed a towel from under the sink and dried off, wrapping myself in it and cracked the door.
When I peeked into the bedroom and saw Loki hadn't returned I went around the room looking for any clothes that might be stocked in the room. The dresser and closet were empty much to my disappointment.
I held the towel to myself and sat on the bed running my hands through my wet hair, trying to think about what to do.
If I could find a phone I could get ahold of Fury.
I searched the room but to my surprise couldn't find any electronics.
I plopped back down on the bed and glanced out the window, it was still dark and storming outside. My stomach ached with hunger but there was no way I was going to put those muddy clothes back on and go out there and have a meal with Loki.
Defeated I crawled into the bed and laid my head on the pillow, pulling the thick comforter over me and closing my eyes trying to hold back tears.
The bed was surprisingly soft and I was asleep in seconds.
