(Can't they just kiss already?)

.-- .. .-.. .-..

If not for the horses, Thea and Piper would've died.

Jason and Percy charged each other, but Tempest and Blackjack baulked long enough for the two of them to leap out of the way. They rolled to the edge of the road. Thea looked back, battle mode activated. She knew her own sword couldn't do much in this situation. If it touched them it could ruin their soul - or something like that (once again, more of Nico's expertise).

The boys crossed swords, gold against bronze. Sparks flew. Their blades blurred - strike and parry - and the ground trembled. The horses pulled away from each other - Tempest thundering in protest, Blackjack flapping his wings.

Times like these were times when Thea wished she still had and used her dagger. After the last war it had been acting like it had a mind of its own and then disappeared, but at least it would have been something to use in this situation.

"Stop it!" Piper yelled.

For a moment, Jason heeded her voice. His golden eyes turned towards her, and Percy charged, slamming his blade into Jason. Thank the gods, Percy turned his sword - maybe on purpose, maybe accidentally - so the flat of it hit Jason's chest, but the impact was still enough to knock Jason off his mount.

Thea tried to reach for the Eidolons. It shouldn't have been something to struggle with, but she couldn't do it. So she went back to those who always appeared at her call. Those three demigods that once were close with Ally Beaumont, a daughter of Aphrodite who Thea had (somewhat) saved from Medea.

But the three were dead, and Ally had joined the hunters of Artemis.

Blackjack cantered away as Tempest reared in confusion. The spirit horse charged into the sunflowers and dissipated into vapour. Percy struggled to turn his pegasus around.

"Percy!" Piper yelled, charmspeak evident in her words. "Jason's your friend. Drop your weapon!"

Percy's sword arm dipped. Thea got hope right then and there that Piper had it under control. Then Jason ruined it. A bolt of lightning arced out of the clear blue sky. It ricocheted off the blond's gladius and blasted Percy off his horse.

Blackjack whinnied and fled into the wheat fields. Jason charged at Percy, who was now on his back, his clothes smoking from the lightning blast.

His blow was parried and held away by a celestial bronze sword that was held by none other than Jack Killan.

His twin sister Ina stood behind, a shotgun in hand. Thea wasn't sure what kind of training they did in Elysium, but she was glad that the children of Iris knew not to kill either of the boys - only keep them from killing each other.
