A/n: some character development and set ups for future development will be present in this chapter and the next. I really hope you enjoy this story. It sucks I know but I find it fun to create a story of a world that is explored so little of. I also don't do this for reads I just do it for fun.

Team rwby and Coda,Alaska,Adam and Keith walk through the lively street of vale as they prepare for the arrival of the visiting students.

Weiss: The Vytal festival, oh this is absolutely wonderful

Ruby: I don't think, I've ever seen you smile this much Weiss. It's kinda weirding me out

Ruby mumbled the last part while leaning towards Keith. Weiss turns around.

Weiss: how can you not smile, a festival dedicated to the culture of the world. There will be Dances, Parades, a tournament. The amount of planning and organization that goes into this event is simply breathtaking

Coda lets an exaggerated yawn as Adam jabs his side.

Yang: you really know how to take a good thing and make it sound boring.

Weiss: quiet you

William: Yang, it's best not to go down the rabbit hole of Weiss's interesting in the planning of events.

Yang: eh whatever, um remind me again why we're spending our Friday after noon at the stupid docks

Ruby closes her nose with her hand.

Ruby: ugh, they smell the fish

Weiss: I've heard that students visiting from vacuo will be arriving by ship today, and as a representative of beacon, I feel like it is my salem duty to welcome them to this fine Kingdom

Blake: she wants to spy on them, so she'll have the upperhand in the tournament.

Keith: She's only here because she can use me as an excuse on why we can be here.

Ruby looks down the street from where they stand and notices the window of a dust shop broken with police tape covering it they head over to the crime scene.

Ruby: what happened here?

Detective 1: robbery, second dust shop to be hit this week. This place is turning into a jungle.

The detective walks over to his partner and sees that they hadn't taken the money

Detective 2: they left all the money again

Detective 1: yeah, It just doesn't make a lick of sense

Detective 2: I don't know

Detective 1: you thinking the white fang?

Detective 2: I'm thinking we don't get paid enough for this.

Weiss scoffs

Weiss: hmph the white fang what an awful bunch of degenerates

Blake: what's you problem

Blake seems at bit irritated at her statement.

Weiss: my problem? I simply don't care for the criminally insane.

Blake: the white fang is hardly a bunch of psychopaths, they're a group of misguided faunus

Blake grows more irritated as she crosses her arms.

Weiss: misguided? They want to wipe humanity of the face of the planet.

Blake: ok, so they're very misguided, it doesn't explain why they would rob a dust shop is downtown vale.
