I Will Never Give Up On You

Start from the beginning

You felt someone lifting you up. Wind was blowing through your hair. You squinted to see what was happening.

Zuko was running through the city to get you help, a fearful yet determined look on his face.

...You were not aware, but it was the same exact expression he held when you disappeared that night long ago.

This time.

This time he would not lose you.

He held you close to himself, not daring to let you out of his firm yet tender grip.

You heard the relentless drumming of his heart. You saw the sweat dripping down his face- You saw how much he truly cared for you.

Even though the two of you came from completely different worlds, even though you had hurt each other and made stupid mistakes so many times,
he would not give up on you.

"Zuko..." You muttered his name, holding on tighter to him.

You shut your eyes again, with a newfound strength. As your eyes shut, so did your purple scars.

You awoke in your bed with a mild headache. Peering out the window with your heavy eyes, you saw the snow still drifting downward, ever so slowly.

You heard the clicking of the bedroom door. "You're awake, Y/N? Thank goodness." Iroh placed a cold towel on your head and set a cup of herbal tea on a nightstand.

"It's a little hot right now, so let it cool down a bit. It will help cure most of your infirmity." He turned to you, concerned, "How are you holding up?"

"...I..." You winced and held your hand to your throat. It felt uncomfortable to speak, but you tried your best. "I'm doing better. Thank you."

"That's good to hear." A curious look appeared on his face, "Have you seen your necklace? It seems like it's breaking."

You held up your necklace, and it did in fact have a long crack on it.

"Y/N, does that necklace have any spiritual meaning? It reminds me of the
spirits we saw at the North Pole." Iroh hummed.

"...It's... A very long story, but y-yeah. It's kind of like a replica of..." You paused, eyes widening.

"...This necklace is a replica of the necklace the first spacebender ever had. A-And... That space bender went on to live within everyone who had her power." You explained,

"So if this necklace is spiritually tied to the other spacebenders, then-..." You turned to Iroh with an awkward smile, "I... Think I know why it's snowing outside."

One of them... Must've had the relic of time.

"Hm... That is rather interesting. I've never heard of anyone with the same skills as you." Iroh hummed.

You glanced over at Iroh and noticed that he held a peculiar countenance.

"Uncl-" You covered your mouth and prevented yourself from finishing that sentence, hoping Iroh didn't hear you.

Unfortunately, he did. "Were you about to call me your uncle, Y/N?" He stroked his beard with a smile, "I mean, if you and my nephew were to get-"

You concealed your face with your hands, embarrassed, "W-We just reunited!"

Despite Iroh's laughter, you still sensed something strange within him.

"Iroh, is everything alright? You seem... Off somehow." You muttered.
