Walking into the boarding house I sighed. I had escaped back to Scotland for a few days, after all that with Caroline I needed to get away. I didn't blame her, I wasn't angry or scared, but I needed a time out. So that's what I took. Damon kept me informed of everything that had happened, from them being outed by Mason Lockwood, to Damon killing Mason, to Katherine trying to kill Jenna. I decided to cut my trip short and come home. Damon had no idea so when I walked into the study that morning, the three vampires were surprised.

"Angel? You weren't due back until Monday" Damon picked me up and span me round.

"Well it seemed like you needed me. So here I am" Damon wasted no time in kissing me passionately until a throat clearing got our attention. "Oh, hey Stefan, hey Care".

"Can we get on with the story please?" I rolled my eyes at Stefan's annoyance before sitting down next to Caroline.

"I've missed you Jamie. Anyway I saw Katherine today" I sat up at Caroline's words.

"Where?" Stefan asked, Damon walked over and handed me a drink. I thanked him quickly before going back to listening to the story.

"At The Grill. I just stopped by to gawk and quasi-stalk Matt.." she explained how to interaction between her and Matt went causing Damon to roll his eyes.

"Skip the teen drama and get to it" Damon grumbled. Caroline then told us about how she went to the bathroom and Katherine confronted her.

"What was the message?" I asked placing my glass down.

"Tell Damon, Jamie and Stefan I want the moonstone, or I'll rip this town apart until it rains blood" I hummed, apparently she had no idea I haven't been here. I looked up at Damon, who looked back at me before addressing Caroline.

"Tell them the rest".

"Tonight at the masquerade ball" I laughed at Katherines audacity before looking at Caroline.

"I heard that right? She wants to do it in public. Killing Mason threw her off guard" I commented, making myself another drink I looked at the vampires in the room, "I hope everyone is ready because this ends tonight". I fired a quick text to Bonnie as Stefan text Jeremy as Damon text Ric. I ran upstairs and quickly grabbed five of my grimoires. Each one has a different form of boundary spell. One much stronger than a Bennett boundary spell.

"What are they?" I heard Caroline ask as I came back into the room, casting a quick spell, each grimoire opened on the boundary spells.

"These a some of my grimoires. I have hundreds, though these spells you are looking at are blood line boundary spells. A lot like a Bennett boundary spell, however I am the only one who can lift it. Which I believe is perfect for this. Katherine isn't stupid, she knows I'm powerful, so she's going to have a witch on her side, though Katherine also knows no witch would willing stand toe to toe with me so it gives me the perfect advantage" I hadn't looked up from my spells whilst talking to Caroline, I was however acutely aware of Damon's close proximity to me.

"You can sit this one out if you want Jamie. I know you have just got back" Damon's words warmed my heart, flashing him a smile I shook my head.

"Not a chance my love. I'm all in, are you?" Damon didn't respond to my question with words, he instead kissed me, I saw Caroline glance at me as a look of hurt flashed across her face. Damon left to go talk to Ric who had just arrived, so I took my chance to interrogate Caroline. "Caroline Forbes, what was that look for?".

"I found my soulmate, but he doesn't want me" Caroline's eyes teared up at the severity of her own words.

"Who?" but she didn't answer, she did however glance at Stefan who had just walked in with Bonnie, I looked between her and Stefan before turning my wide eyes to her. Caroline only nodded her head as I connected the dots. He wanted to stay with Elena. After all this is finished, I'm going to kill him. I gently patted her shoulder before plastering on a smile and turning to Bonnie. "Hey Bon, did you miss me?" Bonnies head snapped up before she ran over to me and pulled me into a hug.
