♡ And Of That Love/The Kiss♡

Start from the beginning

Zuko smiled, placing his hands on top of yours. "I get that feeling. Maybe... We could train together again some day."

"What, do you want me to accidentally kill you?" You pouted.

"Considering the fact that I can convert your bending to mine, it might be a good idea."

He... Had a point. What if someone else had the same ability as Zuko? Someone with bad intentions?

"I guess... I never really thought about that. I think learning how to use a weapon could actually benefit me." You muttered, "But hey, do you know what I am thinking about?"

Zuko shook his head, eyeing you with suspicion.

"C h i c k e n ."

-------

The food was spicy, but it was also so delicious that you didn't mind the heat.
"Gosh, those are good!" You were about to take another, when Zuko smacked your hand away.

You stared at him, dumbfounded by his actions.

Eyes still locked on him, you tried to take it again. Once more, he smacked your hand away.

"There's two left! We can both get one!" You huffed. "That one is for Iroh." Zuko hummed, holding your wrist.

"Oh, that's fine. I'll just take the other-"

Zuko snatched it away from you with a smirk. "This one is mine. I pretty much cooked this myself."

"We both cooked it!" You argued.

"Yeah, but I told you everything step by step. He who powers it devours it."

"That's not even a real rule!" You tried to grab it from him, but he dodged all of your lunges.

"Now it is!" He grinned. You grunted, bending a lasso of void. He shook his head, converting and dissipating it.

"Hmm, that's not going to work, Y/N." He taunted you, bringing the food closer to his lips.

"Are you challenging me?" You grit your teeth.
"I totally am."

You were about to try to take the chicken from him, when he spun around, grabbed your wrist, pinned you against the wall, and ate the entire thing.

"No... Not my chicken...!" You cried.

"Wow. That tasted delicious." Zuko licked his lips. "This is chicken abuse!" You bawled, sobbing.

You were extremely sorrowful, for you were not the one to obliterate the chicken with your monstrous, unsatiated hunger.

However, you couldn't help but notice...

...How close your faces were.

For the third time, by the same man, in one day, you were blushing.

Every single aspect of him you admired-and were attracted to-was right there, standing in front of you.

Zuko couldn't tear his eyes off of you. Every single part of you was like a portal which led his to a realm of tranquility, comfort, astonishment, a state of pure mesmerization. He took note of your rosy cheeks. Could it be, he was the same for you?

Both of you were lost in one another, eyes scanning each other until they landed on...

Your lips.

His lips.

Before you knew it, you found yourself leaning towards him, and him doing the same to you.

You shut your eyes as your lips made contact, a warm sensation flowing through your bodies. You subconciously placed your hands on his chest, moving them up onto his shoulder and pulling him closer.

Then, your brain registered what was happening.

Your eyes shot open as you separated.
You began rambling over each other, trying to say the same thing.

"Oh my gosh- I-I'm so sorry, I-"
"I'm sorry! I should've asked first, o-or-"
"This is my fault! I didn't mean to, I don't know what came over me, I-I...!"

You struggled to find the right words to say, and that was because...

If what you did was wrong, why did it feel so right?

"I... I should've asked you before I did that! I'm sorry, what I did just now was horrible-"
"No..."

You looked up at Zuko in surprise.

"I-I mean, yeah, I probably should've asked you too, but... I..." He glanced to the side, "I... Liked it."

You were stunned into silence. What were you supposed to say?

'Do you really mean that?'
'Does that mean you're not upset?'
'Was it better than the chicken?'

You let out a breath you didn't know you were holding. "I-I..." You gazed into his golden eyes, "I liked it, too."

"T-Then..." He paused erasing his hesitance, "May I?" He asked.

You smiled, "You may."

He placed a tender kiss upon your cheek, surprising you.

"I-I... I think I'd have a heartattack if I did it on your lips." He muttered.

You giggled, wrapping your arms around him. "I completely understand."

You looked at the night sky, wondering where your lantern was.

"Hey, Zuko? What... What does this mean for us?" You questioned.

"I... Honestly don't know. This all happened so quickly, I'm a little lost." He stood beside you, glancing up at the moon.

"So... should we just pretend this all never happened?" You muttered, rubbing your arm.
"No! No, that... That'd just make things more complicated for us." Zuko stated.

The two of you stood quietly in thought, trying to answer the question of "what are we?"

"I think... We should take this slow. Figure out what we're comfortable with right now, and build based on that." Zuko turned to you, "Does that work?"

"Yeah. That sounds like a good idea." You hummed.

Hesitantly, he held your hand. "You seem... Distant." He whispered.

"I'm sorry, it's just... I'm scared, you know? I've never... Been in a relationship, so I'm worried that if I mess this up, then..." You sighed, shutting your eyes.

"Then our friendship will also be ruined." Zuko said, finishing your sentence.

"Yeah."

"Same here. But, if it's for you, then I want to try. I want to do my best with this. There's a risk things might not work, but still, I believe that what we have is special." Zuko said.

"Even with all the risks that come with this, I know what I feel for you won't easily go away."

At that moment, a butter-fly landed on the window sill.

"I think that's a good sign." Zuko chuckled.

You smiled, "You're right. It definitely is." You squeezed his hand, resting your head on his shoulder.
