Unfathomable Depths of Grief

Grief is the price we pay for love,
A burden we carry and never rise above.
It drags us under, into the depths of despair,
A sea of sorrow, too vast for us to bear.

It is a weight that pulls at our bones,
A darkness that chills our very souls.
It tears us apart, deep inside,
A pain that we cannot hide.

Grief is the aftermath of love,
A testament to the depth thereof.
It is the price we pay, for having been blessed,
With a love so great, that we cannot express.

It strikes at any moment, day or night,
A thief that steals away our light.
It drowns us in tears, and thoughts of the past,
A love that we thought would forever last.

Grief is the emptiness that fills our hearts,
A void that nothing can ever truly impart.
It is the memory of what we once had,
A love that was pure, and nothing could make sad.

It is the silence that echoes in our ears,
A sound that we cannot bear to hear.
It is the loss of a love so true,
A love that we thought would always be new.

Grief is a journey that we must take,
A road that never seems to abate.
It is a path of thorns and pain,
A journey that we make in vain.

Yet, despite the pain and hurt we feel,
Grief is the proof that love is real.
It is a testament to a life well-lived,
A love that never fades, but always gives.

It is in the memories that we keep,
A love that remains, even in our sleep.
It is the bond that we will always share,
A love that will always be there.

So, let us not fear the pain of grief,
For it is not the end, but only a brief,
Intermission in a play, that continues to unfold,
A love that never folds.
