"Toph is still learning the basics." Master Yu said, shaking his head at Aang's statement. "Yes. And sadly, thanks to her blindness, I don't think she will ever become a true master."

It was your turn to shake your head, "Well, as long as someone stays determined, I'm sure they can get stronger. Unexpected things can happen. She might be blind, but try to encourage her. I can sense great power within her."

Toph stared in your direction for a moment, as if she were studying you. She looked away and continued to eat her food, but there was a definite change in her expression.

"Your kind words truly do mean a lot." Toph's mother gave you a polite smile. "Yeah! I'm sure she's better than you think she is." Aang was hit with a another pillar of rock under the table, sending his face into his soup.

Everyone stopped eating and stared at Aang in surprise. He moved the bowl off his face and rubbed his eyes. Then, with a quick smirk, he sneezed and sent food and plates flying at the Beifongs.

"What's your problem!?" Toph scoffed in disbelief, angry. "What's your problem?" Aang replied, just as annoyed as her.

"....Well, shall we move to the living room for desert then?"

You were all in a guest room, resting, talking, or glaring at your sister who didn't pay up, when someone came in. It was Toph.

Aang got ready to fight, and you gave her a wave. "Relax. Look, I'm sorry about dinner. Let's call a truce, okay?" Aang relaxed and allowed her to talk, "Could you two follow me?"

The three of you entered the courtyard. Walking along the walls bridge, Toph began to speak, "Even though I was born blind, I've never had a problem seeing. I see with earthbending. It's kinda like seeing with my feet. I feel the vibrations in the earth, and I can see where everything is."

Toph stepped into the grass. "You two, that tree... Even those ants." So the two of you had a similar ability... What would happen if you combined them?

"Seeing with earthbending? That's amazing." Aang muttered, impressed with Toph's power.

"My parents don't understand. They've always treated me like I was helpless. That why... When you said that stuff during dinner, I felt like you kind of understood. And when you said I had a great power within me... It meant a lot. I mean, I know I'm great. but..."

"But in that room, I've only ever been put down. Underestimated. So, uh... Thanks." Toph said, rubbing the back of her neck.

"There's no need to thank me. It's true. I know what it's like to be told you're weak and powerless. I don't want you to feel the same." You gave her a smile, and she returned it.

"That's why you became the Blind Bandit, isn't it?" Aang hummed. "Yup."
"Then why stay here where you're not happy?" He asked. "They're my parents. Where else am I supposed to go?"

Aang gave the girl a small smile and shrug, "You could come with us."

"Yeah. You guys get to go wherever you want. No one telling you what to do. That's the life. But it's just not my life." Suddenly, Toph tensed up and knelt down, placing her hand in the soil. "We're being ambushed!"

As Aang and Toph tried to run, they were cut off by a man who was underground. Cages fell down, but you quickly used void bending to smack them away.

A large man caught the two cages. "Hippo... ANGRY!" He launched stones at you, as another earthbender fought Aang and Toph.
