"Plague! PLAAAAAGUE!" Guards ran away from the crowd of moaning citizens. It felt weird being squished by so many people who were falling over and moaning- but hey! There's a first time for everything.

You were sitting at a campfire, resting on a few stones. "We looked around everywhere. No Bumi." Aang sighed. Katara comforted Aang by hugging him, and Sokka comforted the weird animal beside him as well.

"I'm sure we'll figure something out." You said, trying to lift his mood. "Yeah..." Aang sat down beside you, drawing his knees to his chest and crossing his arms.

"But I can't help but feel like I'm abandoning him. He's the only person I have from my past. He's my friend, and I'm here, while he's in some prison, maybe even in danger, he might even be-"

You placed a hand on his shoulder. "I know how you feel, Aang. But you can't lose hope. Not yet. We'll do everything we can to locate Bumi."

Aang nodded at your words, but you could tell he was still upset. Then, an idea entered your head.

"I could try to improve my focusing skill! Maybe I'd be able to find where they're keeping Bumi!" You exclaimed. Aang's eyes lit up with hope. "Would you really do that?" You nodded with a smile. "You're like a little Sokka to me."

"You're replacing me!?" Sokka cried, placing a hand to his heart and over his head. "No, don't worry. No one could replace you and your kindness." You gave Sokka a toothy grin.

"Hey! I am super kind!" He scoffed. "Sure, sure. Just don't be surprised when you see a dozen pentapi in your sleeping bag."

"Um, that reminds me. Y/N? Could we talk about that gir-" One of the men leading the resistance, Yung, interrupted Katara. "We've got a problem."

"Did someone get left behind?" Katara asked, worried. "No, we have an extra." Yung pointed to a small child on his left, who was quite literally torturing Momo.

The baby ran around, trying to capture the Ava- Trying to capture Momo. He ends up beside Sokka's club, picks it up, and puts it in his mouth. "Smart kid." You laughed as Sokka let out a cry of horror.

He seemed to like you, giggling as you picked him up. "Ohh, he's so precious!" Katara hummed, patting the boy's head. "He might seem precious now, but he'll join a Fire Nation army when he's older." Yung scoffed. Katara gave Yung a look.

"Don't say that. There's still hope for him." You stated. "Maybe once the war is over, he'll be able to grow up into a better person. Grow up in a time of peace..." The child yawned as you let him rest in your arms, smiling.

"...Y/N, could we please talk about that gir-", "A messenger hawk!" Katara grit her teeth in frustration. "It's from the Fire Nation governor. He thinks we kidnapped his son." Aang skimmed the paper, eyes widening as he reached it's end, "He wants to trade his son for King Bumi!"

"Y/N." Katara sleepily walked towards you. "Hmmm?" You hummed, half-awake. "Tell. me. about. that girl." She demanded. "Why are you so curious? Do you want to know what beauty products she uses or something?" You huffed, rolling around.

"You never really told us... Anything about your time in the Fire Nation. And now that I think about it... When General Fong wanted to force Aang into the Avatar state, you talked about the Firelord like you knew him."

You shut your eyes letting out a sigh. "I did know him." Katara let out a gasp. "Wh... What happened to you?" She asked, kneeling down beside you.

"He threatened to make me his weapon and some other stuff. But that's not what you asked about. Mai and I... Were sort of friends. We didn't talk too often, but when we did, we'd always have a good time. Then I left the Fire Nation." You explained.
