Soon enough, you had a complete outfit.

"Why is it so

"Why is it so... Over the top and fancy?" You whispered. "Because these clothes were provided by the best of the best! As long as you're in the Fire Nation, you'll be wearing things much better than whatever you had back in your tribe." Were they trying to bribe you with clothing? Because nothing, no matter how well it's made, would compare to an outfit made by the people who loved you and their hard work.
"May I leave now?" You sighed. The woman nodded, and you dashed out the room.

You almost felt lost in each corridor. Everything was so grand and important-looking... Nothing like home. You kept walking around until you came across a courtyard. "Finally, a break from all that red..." You walked over to a medium sized pond.
You leaned against a tree and allowed yourself to take a breath of fresh air. Everything is so different. You just wanted to be back home...
But now you were here, in a strange place filled with strange, horrible people... Oh?

A turtle duck approached you. You both stared at each other for a few seconds. You stretched out your hand to pet it, and it allowed you to do so. A small smile made it's way on your face. "Sorry buddy... I don't have any food for you. Thanks for letting me pet you." You hummed. You let yourself capture the moment, and a feeling of peace and tranquility filled your body. Nothing could interrupt this mome-

You heard footsteps behind you.

"STAY BACK!" You stood up, preparing an attack. "Are about to attack me!? Because I'm a bender, too!" A boy, he seemed to be around your age, got into a fighting stance. "Who are you!?" You huffed. "Who are YOU?" The boy replied. "Well, you seem like a creepy stranger!" You yelled. "I know what you are, but what am I?" The boy responded. "Seriously, just tell me who you are before I do something I might regret! I could easily knock down a few soldiers, so imagine what I'd do to a kid like you!" You stated. "I'm prince Zuko, how could you not know who I am!?" He exclaimed.

Wait.

This guy's the prince?

"You left yourself wide open!" The prince pinned you against the tree you were previously relaxing on. Now you were about to die to death. "Now tell me who you are!"

"I'm Y/N! Y/N L/N!" You shouted. "...Wait. Hold on... You're not from here." Your eyes widened with fear. "You're from one of the water tribes..." You were about to (gently) attack him, when... "That's actually amazing...! I've never seen a water bender before!" He let go of you, to your relief. "I'm not a water bender." You stated. "Huh...? Then why'd you make that stance? What were you going to attack me with? Your fingernails?"

"You haven't heard about me yet? The girl that can bend space?" You raised an eyebrow. "Wait. You're the girl that can bend space!?" Now he left himself wide open, so you spun him around and pinned him against the tree.

"Why were you watching me like a creep?" You asked. "Because you're... Do I really have to say it? I wasn't going to harm you or do anything weird, I swear!" Zuko said, raising his hands in self defense. "Tell. Me." You grunted. "... You're pretty." He whispered. "Wh... What?" You let go of him. "Well, first, I didn't recognize you, so I approached you quietly. But then I saw you petting that turtle duck, and you looked... Really cute."
He admitted.

"..." You stared at him in confusion and surprise. What were you supposed to say to that? "Look, I know we got off on the wrong foot, but I really didn't mean to freak you out. We don't have to be friends or anything, but I wouldn't want to deal with another Azula." The boy said, sitting down in front of the pond. He had a few pieces of bread in his hands, and was feeding the turtle ducks. "There's no way I'm gonna get along with you." You mumbled under your breath. He's from the Fire Nation. And even worse, he's the prince of it. Sooner or later, he'll be on the throne, hurting innocent people. You began to walk away, when he placed something in your hand.

"You said you wanted to feed the turtle-ducks, right?" You glanced at the boy, before letting out a sigh and sitting down beside him. First day in the Fire Nation? It's a dumpster fire. Literally.
