The sun was nowhere in sight, hidden away by egotistical clouds. The sky was painted a solemn gray, a gloomy fog hanging over tall buildings. The dark atmosphere signaled imminent rain.

This, however, did nothing to dampen the new lovers' spirits. They laughed and joked and danced around on the streets. Nothing was important to them but each other, not even the danger of catching a cold.

"You think we should go home?" you asked, looking up and seemingly just noticing the dark clouds. You blinked when a drop of water hit your face.

Dahyun looked up too and shrugged. "I guess we should start walking."

You frowned in disappointment. You and your girlfriend had planned to spend the whole day outside, maybe to simply talk and walk around, but the sky had other plans.

You held her hand, speed-walking towards the direction of your homes. Before you could take more than two steps, the rain started to fall, drenching your clothes and cascading down your hair. "Oh, come on!" You scowled annoyedly.

But soon enough you got over your annoyance and were now giggling and running around, your shoes soaked in rainwater. Dahyun jumped on your back, surprising you and almost making the both of you fall onto the road. "Who is that girl I see~" she sang, pointing at a puddle which you jumped into shortly after. "Hey! Don't wet my shoes!"

"What do you mean 'don't wet your shoes'? They're already wet!" You exclaimed, tilting as if you were about to drop her. "Y/N, stop it! If I fall, you're falling with me."

"Oh, hell, no!"

You promptly dropped her to her feet and sprinted away, cackling and zigzagging through poles just to make it harder for her to catch up. Sadly, she did catch up with you. Dahyun playfully glared at you, encircling your waist and pulling you closer to trap you in her arms.

You took the chance to admire her, staring at the drops of rainwater resting at the tip of her eyelashes like transparent pearls. Stray strands of her dark hair clung to her pale skin, her smile brightening the atmosphere and sending a rush of happiness through your system. You examined the way her eyes formed crescents when she smiled, and the perfect slope of her nose.

"What are you staring at?" Dahyun giggled, shaking you a little.

She had placed her forehead against yours without you noticing, her dark eyes gazing into yours and flickering down to your lips ever so subtly. You hummed in response, wrapping a hand around her wet form. "Nothing. Just how beautiful you are."

She scrunched her nose and hit you softly, a slight pink hue coating her cheeks. "Stop it."

The two of you stood together in silence in the rain, forgetting your plans of getting home. She had her head resting on your chest, listening to the steady beating of your heart and the soft breaths that left through your nose.

"I've always dreamed of doing this with someone I liked," she said suddenly.

You raised your head and peered at her curiously. "Do what?"

She looked up too, meeting your gaze. "Kiss in the rain."

Now it was your turn to blush. Sure, you've thought about it. You've been with Dahyun for two months now, and yet you haven't even had your first kiss together. But you didn't know if she felt it too, didn't know when the right time was.

"Are you sure.." Your voice faltered at the slightly intimidating stare she was giving you.

"Yes, Y/N. I like you that much."

She started leaning forward, hesitating only a bit to see if you were alright with her actions. You met her halfway, and your lips were about to touch when—

Both your heads bumped together, causing you two to retract, rubbing your foreheads. Your cheeks were red from embarrassment, but Dahyun's lips were pursed, trying to keep in the laugh from spilling out.

"Don't laugh!" You complained. "It's perfectly normal."

But when you said those exact words, she laughed.

You rolled your eyes, waiting for her to stop. "Sorry," she breathed. "We're just so clumsy! If our life was a reality show, we'd have a lot of bloopers."

"Okay," you grumbled, still feeling quite embarrassed. "We'd better get home, we'll get si-"

This time Dahyun grabbed a handful of your collar, tilting her head just in time to kiss you fully on the mouth. You stayed in that position for a few seconds before she pulled away, her face holding a grin.

"It's probably too early to say this, but I love you, you idiot."

"Hey!"
