I shut off my phone and started to prepare the rooftop for when she came back. Brock had promised me that he would go and pick her up and tell her they were eating together so she didn't suspect anything. Logan and Elias had helped me go buy all the supplies a few days earlier so Lexie wouldn't find them at our apartment.
On the rooftop terrace I lay out candles around the whole area, making a heart in the middle with roses and candles. The forecast showed that it would be a beautiful night with no rain or wind which was rare for Vancouver.
Once I prepared everything I texted Brock to let him know everything was ready and that they could come back. I was wearing a black tux with the ring box in my pocket, pacing back and forth as I waited for her to show up.
The sun started to go down behind the tall buildings surrounding us, leaving the sky with a beautiful orange colour. As I admired the view I heard the door behind me slam shut, turning around and seeing Lexie walk around the corner.
"Hi Lex" I smiled, fiddling with the ring box in my pocket.
She walked up with tears filling her eyes. "What's this" she asked.
I grabbed her hands and brought her into the centre of the heart I had made, smiling as I saw her realize what was going on.
"Lexie you have shown me love that I didn't even know existed in this world" I spoke, choking up. "There isn't a day where I don't want to be with you, cuddled up next to you while watching cheesy movies".
She laughed while wiping away happy tears from her face. I took out the ring from my pocket and got down on one knee, Lexie gasping when she saw it was her moms old ring.
"Will you marry me?".
