Chapter 4 Meeting

Beast called a meeting after the group hand gotten back. He started "I think we all know why we're here. The people are in a panic about Hades. He almost got out."

Fairy Godmother sighed "Who knows what he would've done if he had escaped?"

Beast explained "We can't risk having another villain on the loose."

Mal sighed sadly "I really feel like this is all my fault. - I'm supposed to protect Auradon."

Charlotte "You did. You did protect Auradon."

"But I didn't protect you" Mal reminded her. Charlotte a phone suddenly rang so she stepped outside and answered it.

"Miss Charming Malificents Sceptre and the Queens crown have been stolen. There is no security footage and the guards have been knocked out cold" a security guard explained.

"Okay I'll talk to the king and then I'll contract you." Charlotte hung the phone up and walked back into the meeting.

Beast carried on "Every time we open the barrier, we're exposed to danger. Maleficent. Uma. Or Hades."

" ...Maleficent's scepter and the queen's crown have been stolen." Charlotte told them.

Beast looked at his son knowingly "We don't know that, Dad." Ben argued.

"When the people hear this, they will never wanna leave their houses" Belle said "What do we tell them?"

"Charlotte, Mal...What do we do? How do we keep evil out of Auradon?" Belle asked turning to the girls.

Charlotte looked down "I think that there's only... one way to guarantee their safety."

Mal looked at Charlotte and nodded "And I think that there... Can't be anymore going in and out. I think that we have to close the barrier. Forever."

Ben paused "No."

Beast turned to Ben "Son..."

"No." Ben told them shaking his head.

"Ben?" Charlotte asked.

Ben repeatedly shook his head "No no no."

Mal grabbed his arm grounding him "Ben? Hey. I do not want to take away your dream, Because it was so beautiful. And it is why I fell in love with you. But as king and his queen, what's our duty?"

Ben sighed "...To protect Auradon. But you know what this would mean? All those kids? Are you prepared for that?"

Mal nodded "I know what it means. And, no. I'm not prepared for it. I just think that we have no other choice."

Charlotte patted Bens shoulder "Benn... Mal's right."

"I just don't think that we would forgive ourselves if something terrible happened." Mal said slowly.

Ben nodded with a sigh and walked away. "Ben!" Mal called as he ran down the corridor.

Charlotte placed her arm on Mal's shoulder "It's okay Mal give him a bit of time to cool off. He'll come to his senses"

Mal nodded and the two walked away to find Evie and talk with her.

They sat down in their dorm and just chatted. Charlotte explained the whole situation with the crown and Sceptre.

"Who else knows about the crown and the scepter?" Evie asked.

"No one. I mean... Think about it. It is scary enough as it is." Mal told her.

"We have to employ these entirely new security measures." Charlotte added.

"Will this delay our bringing over more VKs?" Evie asked confused.

"We're talking about "closing the barrier" for good." Charlotte told her sadly.

Evie turned to Ma "But you said no? I mean the four of us are living the dream here, and we finally get to share that. I mean, what could be more important than that?"

Mal Yeah. I know. - I mean, maybe security or maybe peace of mind for everyone in Auradon.

Evie went into a ramble "Is that what they're thinking? Charlotte are you seriously thinking that no one will ever go in and out of the Isle ever again? What, we never get to go back and see our parents? And what about these kids? We promised them that they could go back and visit whenever they wanted."

Charlotte looked down guiltily "Yeah. I know."

Evie sighed "M, I'm so glad that you are going to be queen. You will be a part of these conversations, you will stand up for the VKs. Thank you for telling me. - And you'll be a great queen."

At Evie's castle everyone was getting ready to head to Charlottes birthday party at the Enchanted Lake.

Carlos cheered "Whoo! Morning, got the beach towels?"
Jay placed the towels on the side "These."

"I really think she's gonna like the cake, you guys." Carlos said opening the cake box but then Carlos gasped noticing a chunk was missing "Oh, no. Okay! Who got into Charlottes cake?"
