During the car ride I was worried and couldn't find my tranquility. Was that really the last time I'll ever see him?

"Your father is informed and when we'll get at my apartment you can talk with him on the phone." The officer said and his gaze fell on me.

"Where do you know my father? And won't I be interrogated first?" I ask curiously. I still didn't feel relieved as I should. It didn't felt real or like it could turn to a disaster any minute.

"We work in the same department. And after all you've been through I think you deserve to see your father first. That's how it is supposed to be." he explained. "Don't you remember me?" he asked smiling after a while. I shrug helplessly. "I'm John." he told me. I frown and then revelation dawned on me.

"Oh, now I remember." He was the one I met at dad's working place when I asked for my dad so we could shoot. "Has my absence been in the news?" I questioned and he hummed.

"But not as much as your father wanted." he replied.

Then we stay in comfortable silence. Not like those pregnant pauses or awkward beats I had with Zayn. After what he made me go through I should never think about him again and here I am spending most of my thoughts on him.

I wonder if he's alright or if Louis has done anything... No i don't. I don't, I stubbornly tried to etch it inside my brain.

But I can't help and look for any messages on Zayn's phone once I'm at officer's Bennett's apartment.

*LouisIt will be dealt with.* He had sent back. Knowing them I'm sure they will take care of it.

From now on that won't be my business. I think Zayn has finally learned a good life lesson and that is that he can't always get his way no matter how dangerous he is because justice will conquer, and even if he'll try to find me again he won't succeed because clearly my father will keep me safe now and I'm at last free, but I know it will take some time to get used to this idea. A smile overtakes my lips that I will get my former life back, my familiar, boring but lovely life, with no restrictions.

"Couldn't I wait home for my father?" I asked officer Bennett.

"Too risky. The rest of the gang probably knows where you live. Your father will get here as soon as possible." he assured.

"Where is he?" I sigh while drinking the hot chocolate he had prepared me with some biscuits. He was a very nice person, never asking me about what happened, only trying to make me comfortable but still I didn't feel at ease. Something was bothering me.

'That something is Zayn.' my subconscious threw her two cents in and I sigh annoyed.

"He's been trying to find you all around the country so it will take him some time until he gets here but I'll call him now." he kindly said. His voice was always calm and friendly, he sounds like an adult even if he is young, such a contrast to Zayn. God stop thinking about him. "You can handle talking with him right? Because if not you can go sleep." he said interrupting my thoughts.

"No I want to." I say expectantly, I had missed dad and his voice.

He called him and officer Bennett explained to him what happened. The phone was placed on my hand. With a deep breath I meekly mumble, "Dad?" at the verge of crying all of sudden.

"Sweetie." he said back relieved. "I was so worried. I missed you so much." he continued, while evening his voice out, he was emotional as well but tried to be strong for me so I wouldn't be scared.

"I missed you too. When will you be here?" I sighed heavily. The fear I had that I won't see or hear his voice again has disappeared, instead I'm filled with bliss and am slowly getting more content.
