After making sure he had gotten rid of the threat, he walked towards the little girl who has green liquid oozing out of her nose. He placed his hands on the girl's head, murmuring words beyond human understanding until the girl sneezed out more liquid while her skin turned normal again. Ocean took out his white handkerchief from the back of his cargo shorts to clean the girl's nose until there was no trace of green substance.
All this while, the girl carefully watched him, but didn't utter a word as an intimidating frown is plastered on his face. The little girl tries to remember how she ended up with the stranger, but nothing seems to make sense to her as Ocean has erased her memory to avoid possible trauma. Ocean felt the little girl's eyes on him all this while, as her fearful heart kept pounding against her chest. He also heard all the rambles going on in her mind as she tried to remember what happened to her. After he was done cleaning her up he stared down at her small figure while the girl stared right down at his black boots
"Look at me" he ordered the little girl in a calm voice contrary to his face "I said look at me" he repeated, knowing fully well that the girl is scared of him. Slowly, the little girl looked up and her brown eyes reminded him of his rabbit teeth neighbour. His features automatically softened just at the thought of that. He patted the little girl's head before carrying her to look into her eyes again.
"Let's go look for your mother" careless mother, he corrected in his head. When he noticed the girl's rigid body he sighed,
"Don't be scared, I won't hurt you. I am not actually a bad person, but people think I am and that is when I do bad things..." that is not the type of conversation to have with a child, his inner mind chided him "I am just joking" he smiled at her and the girl's body visibly relaxed as they walked through lonely corridors
"Please can you not frown? it is scary" the girl stated her observation and he chuckled
"but people say my smile is more scary" he continued the conversation
"that's not true, you have the most beautiful smile in the world with red eyes....." the girl said in a matter-of-fact tone as she continued looking into his red eyes, she has never seen before. "you are even prettier than my dad." Ocean chuckled
"do you think she will fall for the smile?" Ocean asked without thinking
"who?"
"My new neighbour"
"oh, of course she will. Is she beautiful?"
"I think so" but I will never admit that to Stone, he said in his head.
"but she has one eye... Not that I mind"
It didn't take long to find the little girl's mother as the panicking woman already reported to the security. After the little girl safely returned to her mother, Ocean spent the rest of his time with Mira and Stone until he decided to leave for dinner in the evening. He slowly walked to the rooftop where he disappeared into thin air.
In order not to look suspicious, he decided to reappear in his living room. He peeped through the curtain to see her car parked in front of her apartment. With a wide smile and confident strides, he walked across to his neighbour's house. He is about knocking when his ears picked the faint conversation between his neighbour and a man
"How did you find me?" asked his neighbour in a panicked voice
"I already told you, running away is not going to help because I will always find you"
"Rex, enough damage has been done already, please it is time to put a stop to it"
"Stop being selfish Moon, mistake or no mistake I want more and there is nothing you can do about it. I want you"
"I have said this countless times and I will keep saying it, what ever happened that night was a mistake-"
"A mistake? I want to make that mistake with you again baby" Ocean who has been patiently listening to the conversation tried to put the piece together on what they are discussing, but everything stopped the second he heard the sharp footsteps that most likely belongs to the man, and how the girl's heart kept fluttering in fear.
"The earlier you come to me the better for you. You don't know-" Before the man could finish his sentence, Ocean interrupted him with a loud knock
"Who the fuck is that? Expecting someone?"
"Yes" She immediately answered, even though she was not expecting anyone
"No need. The person will go away" Just as the man closed his mouth, Ocean knocked with more force.
"Baby open the door!..Baby!" Ocean purposely yelled, and in a matter of seconds the door opened with his shocked neighbour in view. Without waiting for her to utter any word, he hugged her, inhaling her scent and as if that wasn't enough, he pegged her soft cheeks, pretending not to notice the young man glaring at him. Like a real lover, he hooked one of his hands around her waist as he gazed down at her lovingly while pushing strands of hair behind her ear before kissing her forehead, the whole thing made it look as if he couldn't get enough of her.
"How was work today?"
"it was great, I had a great time with the new friends I told you about" she tried to play along, knowing that Ocean must have overheard the conversation
"And who are you?" Rex decided to step forward as he didn't understand the drama. Pretending to be confused Ocean said,
"You didn't tell me we were having a visitor. Hello, you must be Rex, nice to meet you, I have heard a lot about you" With a broad smile, Ocean stretched his free hand toward him as his other hand securely held his neighbour's waist to his side. If glares could kill, no doubt that Ocean would be long gone
"I have my doubts because if you have, then you should know that you are at the wrong place" Rex stepped closer to him
"Am I?" Ocean purposely looked around and then chuckled
"I don't think so"
"Look here, I would advise you to leave this instant"
"But I don't want to, what are we going to do about it?" Ocean asked in an amused tone
"This is the last time I am going to say this, leave" Rex tried to get hold of the girl, but Ocean's free hand grabbed his hand
"Let me tell you something you probably don't know, where I hail from, our women are our pride and treasure, and if you are to treat her like this..." Ocean jerked his head towards Rex's hand he was holding "You will be beheaded straightaway" Rex jerked his hand out of Ocean's tight grip before throwing a hard punch at him, but he barely staggered. Angry that his punch did not make much impact, Rex threw another punch on Ocean's nose which got it bleeding immediately.
"OhmyGod!" Moon who was not expecting the attack, shrieked
"Please stop this madness! Fighting is not going to settle anything" She tried to talk sense into the men, but Rex was not having it. Ocean touched the blood oozing out of his nose and smiled at it before licking it off. Just as he did that, Rex threw another punch followed by a loud crack, not from Ocean's jaw, but Rex's hand. Ocean chuckled when he saw the way Rex's face contoured in pain as his fist shook, but that didn't stop him from throwing a punch with his other hand. This time around Ocean purposely fell to the ground and groaned as if in pain to gain his neighbour's attention, and it worked as the worried girl rushed to his side
"Leave before I call the police! Get out!" she threatened Rex who left not because of the threat from the girl he knows he is stronger than, but because of the severe pain he feels in his wrist. He didn't understand why he is the one in pain instead of the man.
When Rex was finally out of sight, Ocean purposely groaned again while touching his bleeding nose
"Are you okay? Should I take you to the hospital?" She asked out of worry as she helped him stand to his feet
"No need, a little cleaning will do"
"Do you need help?" He nodded his head in response and immediately followed her into the apartment. Work made easier, he thought to himself with an internal smile.
