Yosuke's POV:

I'm still just standing here, dumbfounded. She yelled at me -- not only embarrassing me, but making me feel like utter shit. I know she means it. She hates me now. And I can't blame her.

I am a fuckup. I fucked everything up for everyone. Fuck.

"Are you alright?" Yumi asks, looking kinda awkward. I mean, you would if your friend just got yelled at by one of his best friends.

"No," I shake my head.

"Do you wanna--"

I shake off the hand she's placed on my back, and push the drama room's doors open, leaving them swinging back and forth even after I leave.

Yu's POV:

"We better go," Rise says. "Lunch is almost over."

"Just a couple more moments," I sigh.

"Moments for what?" Chie looks at me. I can see the unspoken apology in her expression.

"I just need to think for a moment or two."

The bell rings.

"Senpai, we must return to class," Naoto says.

I nod, though I don't move.

"C'mon, dude," Chie awkwardly laughs. "It'll all be okay, right?"

"Hm," I sigh.

"We can ask to move seats in homeroom," Yukiko suggests. "If that'd make you feel better."

"I don't want to," I tell her.

"A-are you sure?" She stammers.

"Yeah. That'd just be childish."

"R-right," she agrees.

"I'll walk with you if you want, Senpai." Kanji tries to smile at me, but it deepens as he sees my blank expression.

"You guys go," Shin interrupts. "I'll stay with him."

I look at him with suprise. "You don't have to."

"Seriously, I don't mind. I don't really care if I'm late to class; I don't wanna be here in the first place." He lets out a small chuckle, but nobody laughs along.

"Alright," Chie says. "I'll... see you later?"

I nod. "Bye, guys."

Once everyone has left, it's just me and Shin on the rooftop.

"You didn't have to stay with me, you know," I tell him

"I know," he shrugs. "But I wanted to."

"Why?" I ask.

"Because," he begins.

"It's just because you feel sorry for me, isn't it?" I cut him off.

He looks at me, raising his eyebrows. I knew it.

"No, that's not it." But he's a terrible liar.

"I won't be mad," I sigh.

"Well, okay, then," he opens up. "That's one reason."

"And another?"

"You seem genuine."

"What's that mean?" I cock my head.

"You don't seem like the kinda guy to treat someone differently based off where they're from."

"I don't see why anyone would do that?" I furrow my eyebrows.
