I have been home for over a week and it has sucked. I miss Julia so bad that I don't know what to do with myself.
We have spoken a few times on the phone but neither has brought up the kiss.
My legs were shaking when I ran back to her but I knew it was now or never.
Someone knocked on my office door. "Kayden are you busy?"
"No, come on in mom. What's up?"
"Just checking in. I can tell since you came back you are sad."
I sighed... "That noticeable?"
"Yeah what's wrong?"
"Honestly I just miss Julia."
Mom smiled. "She sure is lovely and I thought you looked great together."
"So did I." I laugh.
"Then do what your heart tells you to. Don't worry about your dad and me. We just want you to be happy Kayden."
I couldn't help but smile. My mom was the best and she was so selfless to always putting me first.
Her eyes teared up. "We will miss you but gives me an excuse to come to North Carolina for cookies."
I stood up and walked around my desk and hugged her in a big bear hug.
I finished up the day and went home and all I could do is think of Julia so I gave her a call.

I throw the phone on the couch and close my eyes. I need to talk to my dad and then I'm going back but I need to make sure he's ok with my decision.
I head out to my jeep and drive across town to my parent's house. I walked in and they were in the kitchen.
"Hey, son!"
"Hey, dad! Mom!"
"Didn't get enough of us at work?"
"Nah." I laugh.
"If you are here for what I think you are I agree with your mom. You have to follow your heart."
"Really dad? You're not mad? I don't want to leave the caseload on you."
"I will be fine Kayden and I have a new guy I was bringing in tomorrow because it was backing up while you were away but go for as long as you want or stay we will be ok. You have to live your life."
I smile over at dad. "Thank you! That makes my decision easier. I realize that I can't live without her. I haven't told her that yet but I just got off the phone with her."
"So you had a strictly professional relationship while you were there?"
"Yeah mom we did and I even went to get on the plane and ran back and kissed her and then ran. I couldn't leave without doing at least that."
"I bet she didn't know what to think or say."
"She giggled but she did respond that's for sure."
"Go get your girl son." Dad smiled.
"Thank you both for everything! I am going home and booking my flight but I'll keep you updated on my plans."
"Sounds good. Now give your mom a big hug."
I smiled and hugged her so tight kissing her face before embracing my dad then I headed out to my jeep.
I couldn't get home fast enough and found a last-minute flight for in the morning.
I packed a couple of bags and grabbed everything I thought I needed and then my phone beeped.
📱 I finally made it home. Alissa said she would take Jacob home haha! 📱I bet she did. I haven't been home long I went over to my parents. 📱 How are they? 📱 They are good! I laid my phone on the bed beside me and cut my tv on and watched a little tv before falling asleep.
When I woke up the next morning I was so excited to get on that plane and I decided I would pick up some flowers and knock on her door with a kiss.
The plane ride was smooth. I ordered a uber to a local flower shop and got three dozen different color roses and headed to Julia's beach house.
When I got out I was so nervous I could barely walk. I rolled my two bags and had my hands full of roses when I rang the doorbell.
When she opened the door and saw me her eyes were so big and then she giggled. "Kayden!"
I handed her the roses. "I missed you and couldn't stay away."
I pulled her in my arms and when my lips touched hers it felt like home.
When we broke apart the uber driver whistled and blew his horn before pulling off and I couldn't help but laugh.
"I can't believe you are here! Come in!"
I grabbed my bags and rolled them in. "I assume I can stay?"
"Of course, you can! How long are you staying?"
As long as you will allow me to."
"In that case, you can never go back to Nevada." She smiled wrapping her arms around my neck.
"That's perfectly fine with me." I leaned in and kissed her again.
