The Anniversary Promise

--

Annabeth POV

I was in my room watching High School Musical: The Musical: The series and I was just starting the next episode when someone knocked on my door.

"I'm busy!" I called.

The door opened and Percy walked in, a smirk on his face. "This is what you call busy?"

"Percy!" I exclaimed. "What are you doing here?"

"We're going out."

"Out? I'm watching High School Musical."

"I don't care," Percy said. "Let's go."

"But I'm in my pajamas!" I complained.

"Well then get dressed. I don't mind either way."

I sighed. "Will I like it?"

"I hope so."

He looked good today. He was wearing blue jeans, a gray T-shirt, and his black leather jacket.

His eyes sparkled today, and his hair was the handsome kind of messy.

"Fine," I sighed. "Where are we going?"

"On a date."

"Why?"

"Do I need an excuse to take my girlfriend out?" he asked.

"No. but I want to know!"

"Fine," he exhaled. "We're going on our anniversary date."

"That was last week," I pointed out.

"I know, but I wanted to take you out when I didn't just get out of the ER and not feeling terrible."

I gave him a kiss. "You didn't have to."

I curled my hair, as Percy said, "I wanted to."

I smiled. "Alright, what is it?"

"I'm not telling you."

I raised an eyebrow. "I'm driving, aren't I?"

"I don't need to tell you. Just the directions," he said, as he led me out my room.

"Are you guys leaving now?" Helen asked,

I had pulled on a gray shirt to match Percy's and a dark blue skirt to match his jeans.

"We're coordinated," I said to Percy.

He smiled. "Well, it's beautiful."

"Thank you."

"We're going now, Mrs. Chase," Percy said politely. He turned to me. "Those are for you," he said, gesturing to the vase of daisies and chocolate on the counter."

"Have fun!"

"Do you know where we're going?"

"No," Helen said, smiling.

"Liar," I said.

Helen just laughed. "Enjoy your night, guys."

"We will!" Percy smiled.

I started the engine. "Are you feeling better?"

He nodded. "I'm fine."

"I didn't ask how you are. I asked if you were feeling better," I pointed out.
