The story takes place after the staff of Hermes. Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase return to his apartment just a few minutes too late. Someone has already ended the lives of Sally Jackson and Paul Blofis with a gun. A gun. A mortal weapon. Since when did any of them have to deal with that side of worldly problems? Struck by the grief of losing his family, Percy barely has time to process what happened before Artemis gives him a quest that requires him to travel to Gotham. Luckily, his last remaining maternal relative happens to be none other than Bruce Wayne. Two birds with one stone, right? And Percy has a growing suspicion that his new billionaire uncle is hiding something. Unfortunately, Bruce Wayne seems to have come to the exact same conclusion about him. MAYA REYES was a bit of a screw up. I mean, she was nice, kind, and occasionally funny, but when it came to being a demigod, she kind of sucked. She couldn't wield her powers for shit, had the hand-eye coordination of a blind bat with scoliosis, and was more likely to get into a spirited debate with a monster than kill one. Considering the fact that her camp highlight was Dionysus coming up to her in the middle of dinner one night and saying, "that one's mine," before walking off for more Diet Coke, she didn't think the Oracle would be giving her a quest any time soon. So, Maya gets used to the shadows. Climbing up onto the roof of the Big House during pegasus riding to sneak in a few naps, drawing stick figures into the dirt during capture the flag, and totally not staring at Percy Jackson whenever he comes to camp. But, when the prospect of war comes to the borders of camp and the Labyrinth reopens, Maya finds herself thrown out of the shadows and into the limelight of a quest with people she's only ever heard about in camp, including Percy. Drawing stick figures may be hard, but going on a quest is even harder, and Maya finds herself questioning her worth as the weight of the world rests on her shoulders. This is a fun fanfic for Percabeth that takes place as if they were mortals and Annabeth hadn't met them before. In New York, Annabeth goes to Goode High after moving to be with her mom. She makes friends with a certain Percy Jackson and his little group. She and Percy like each other, and are nervous, and there is DRAMA! (It has POV's from multiple different characters, so it isn't just Annabeth) Along with that, this is a fluffy/steamy story, maybe good for road trips or to read when you are bored.
