In third year

I honestly don't know what exactly this is

Y/n's POV

"Since it's all your first time going to Hogsmeade, you must go in pairs. We don't want any of you to get lost, so we?" Professor McGonagall announces to the third years including me.

Whispers and murmurs started going from every direction, some excited and some *ahem* Slytherins *ahem* annoyed.

"Silence! I will be assigning your partners and you must stay together if you don't want to lose any house points." McGonagall says as everybody let out a frustrated groan.

"-Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy, Ronald Weasley and Lavander Brown, Dean Thomas and Seamus Finnigan, And lastly Hermione Granger and Y/n L/n." I was zoning out until when I heard her name and mine being said.

I panicked.

Hermione Freakin' Granger! Is the universe conspiring for me to die today? Either out of embarrassment or simply 'Gay Panick'.

Hermione glanced at me and sighed before walking towards me then she stood on my left me.

My eyes went so wide it looked like it was about to pop out as my cheeks went from pale to really and I mean REALLY red.

I was snapped out of my thoughts when McGonagall continued "Here are some bewitched ribbons to tie on your wrists. I would know if you once took it off and wandered around Hogsmeade with out your partner " she handed out the ribbons to the pairs.

"Umm. Professor, there's only one ribbon?" Ronald scratches his head with a confused face as everyone else agreed while seeming confused.

"I know. You are meant to share the ribbon, so that way you can't get lost if you're attached to each other." She replies with a smile like she'd achieved something.

"What?! Professor, this is unbelievable!" Harry snarled as he crossed his arms rather agressively.

"This is outragous! My father will hear about this!" Malfoy huffed in annoyance.

Merlin, I'm about to share a ribbon with Hermione Granger?!! I'm going to di-

"Here. Just hold onto it." Hermione says beside me, snapping out of my panicked thoughts. Causing me to panick more.

She looks forward like she's avoiding my gaze, and hands out the other end of the ribbon as she grasped on the end near her.

I grab it quickly and look at my right to hide my flustered face while bitting my lower lip. I let out a shaky breathe causing a fluff of air to form in front of me.

I didn't even notice that everyone had their ribbons tied together with their partners wrist except for us until McGonagall points it out.

"That's not allowed, Miss Granger and Miss L/n. You must tie it on both your wrists. No exceptions!"

I blushed more at the thought of our wrists tied together and our skin touching. Merlin, please don't let her soft delicate skin touch me dry, crusty and rough one.

Not like I have a choice or anything. I now regret not putting lotion on this morning.

My panicked thoughts were once again cut off when a hand tugged mine making me look at who did it. It was about to shout at them but I cut myself off. "Hey! Wha-"

"Let's get this over with." Hermione states with a sigh as she finished tying the ribbon making me remember that she was technically touching me.

"O- okay." Great job, Y/n. Now she knows you're nervous.

"Alright, students! You can go now. Make sure to be back before curfew."

Everyone files out and goes to various different stores as Hermione and I awkwardly stood in the middle of the street, ignoring each others gazes.

"So... Where'd you wanna go firsrt?" I ask, surprisingly not stuttering.

"I was thinking of going to Honeydukes for sweets. You?" She answers and returns the question.

"I'd like to look around Zonko's for some tricks and such." I answered.

I thought of buying some things to prank the twins back with. They've been annoying and pestering me these past few days.

She nods in understanding then says. "We could go to Zonko's first sice it's closer, then we'll go to Honeydukes. Is that alright?"

"Yes. Lead the way." I replied and took a step as she walked along side me.

We walked in comfortable silence as the cold wind rushes past us. I noticed Hermione in my peripheral view, shiver at the wind hitting her exposed neck. So, I took my wand from my pocket and silently muttered a spell that made a scarf appear and wrap around her neck.

She gasped at the unexpected contact and looked at me to see if I saw it or not. I just avoided her gaze and pretended that I didn't know what happened. But her being Hermione, I think she probably already knows I did it.

Arriving in front of Zonko's, I glanced at Hermione before walking towards the door. I opened the door and stepped to the side to let her in first.

But a toy from the shop flew right in front of her face making me pull her into me to stop it from hitting her.

I ended up holding her hand in mine firmly, as I pull her with so much force it makes me stumble on my feet and fall to the ground, bringing her with me.

With a painful thud, I grunt as she falls on top of me. She opens her eyes and looks into mine before she snaps out of her daze and looks at our position.

"I- umm sorry I-" I started to stutter, trying to explain how we basically go here.

I was loosening my grip on her hand when she tightens her hold on mine. My eyes widened as I looked at our hand then back at her eyes.

"Thank you." She whispers with a soft, genuine smile.
