Wren

"Can I sleep with you?" Orion whispered to June, instantly receiving a warm hug and a nod.

We were all getting ready to retire for the night since it was nearly ten. We had sat in the library for a while after dinner, conversing, reading, drawing and the like, and it had made me warm and drowsy. Currently, I was curled into Cedar's chest, and Sal was nestled against me, creating a warm pocket for me to doze in.

"I don't want to move," Sal groaned, looking at me through a golden ringlet.

"Then don't," Branson smirked, stooping and swooping Sal into his arms.

Sal's cheeks tinted pink, a small giggle floating behind him as Branson's broad shoulders blocked the doorway. I watched them go, a heady feeling creeping it's way into my chest. I loved seeing the boys being romantic toward each other. It was sweet and nice, and a bit foreign to see such affection out on display.

"Do you want a lift to your room?" Cedar cheekily asked me, tightening his hold as he spoke, and tickling my cheek with his nose.

I nodded, grinning at him like a fool. Cedar was expressive, something I liked. It wasn't hard to guess at what he was thinking or feeling, and I liked the transparency. I knew I was an open book as well, so receiving the same amount of honesty was refreshing.

"I love you," Cedar whispered, charging the air between us with electricity.

My breath caught in my throat, heart pumping harder as his words wormed their way inside. It felt like my veins were buzzing with liquid fire, racing, burning, scorching everything in it's path. His eyes were glowing in the candle light, that strange, but beautiful gold that made it impossible to look away.

He smiled, biting his lip as he dipped his head lower, asking for permission without saying anything. I could see the strain he was under, the desire and the need to have his way with me rising to the surface. The idea of being wanted like that was both exhilarating and terrifying. I felt like I was balancing very precariously on a thin ledge and any little thing could send me careening over the edge.

Our mouths touched, his lips slotting with mine in a smooth, practiced motion. Velvety and soft, but heated and passionate. It was like putting cinnamon and vanilla together. I felt like I was drowning in his passion.

One of his hands came up and cradled my cheek, gently nudging a rogue curl from my skin. His eyes glinted, and he turned carefully so I was pinned beneath his long and lanky body. His legs sandwiched my good one, and the weight of his body on mine caused me to lose track of everything but the sensations his skin created. The warmth and the feeling of his body pressing against mine - it was indescribable.

"Wren...the things you do to me..." Cedar groaned, pressing heated kisses to the side of my neck, and pulling sounds I didn't know I could make from the depth of my soul. "And you...don't even know it...maddening..."

A cool, slender hand slipped beneath my shirt, tracing my ribs and dipping to my naval. A strand of auburn hair slipped into his eyes, his tie coming loose from our frenzy. He looked at me, dark, intense, and utterly sinful.

"Will you allow me to take you to bed?" Cedar husked out, desperately trying to control himself.

I nodded, wrapping my arms around his neck so he could safely carry me away. He didn't waste time, although he was careful not to hurt me. But his haste and the reason for it was quite obvious, and I was loving this new side to him.

Flustered, yet confident. Passionate and emotional, yet not pressuring or insensitive to me. Invested, yet watching my cues and trying to give me pleasure...Cedar was mesmerizing.

The door thudded shut, and Cedar smiled, looking like some kind of fallen angel. Lustful, sinful, yet pure and full of emotion. He pushed my back against the wood frame, and I blushed as I felt him. He was large, and a damp spot was forming in the front of his trousers.

"Wren...how far do you want to go?" Cedar panted, desperately kissing my collarbone. "Do you want to use our mouths or hands, or do you want to go all the way...or..."

I stopped his painful rambling, pinching his chin lightly beneath my fingers. His eyes found mine, and I smiled at him, hoping he could find the answer in my face. I wanted him so badly...

"All of you...Cee-Cee," I sweetly told him, causing him to freeze.

For a long moment he simply stared at me, and then, suddenly, we were in a flurry of motion. His mouth was everywhere, his hands pulled at my clothes, we were gliding, falling, moving...

"You spoke to me!" Cedar gasped, eyes suspiciously wet as he came up for air after kissing down my chest and stomach. "And... Cee-Cee? I love it."

His fingers were slick with something - salve or oil, I didn't know. They scissored me open, and I did my best to ignore the slight burning sensation, and not tense up. Cedar was barely holding on, and I loved the way he looked at me like I was the only person in the universe. Like I was the only thing that mattered to him. Like I was precious and beautiful.

"Ready, sweet darling?" Cedar breathed, once all three fingers slid into my entrance without resistance.

All I could do was whine in need, a small mewling sound confirming what Cedar already knew. And then he filled me, warming me, bringing me home. I melted into him, crying a tiny bit, but he just held me tightly until I was ready to continue. Rigid, like a statue, he waited for me to adjust.

Every muscle was locked and outlined, showing me his lean, but firm physique. His body was creamy and white, his lines supple and graceful, and his hip bones were accentuated beautifully.

And then we were moving. I wanted to whimper, to mewl, to moan in the heights of pleasure, but I was breathless. Soundless.

And yet, every part of me was singing. Swept up in the fire of his love, I tingled and danced to the waves of his passion and affection. I felt like I was finding myself for the first time. Like a piece of me was coming alive...blooming.

"Wren, please...sweetheart..." Cedar growled. "Look at me..."

So I did.

Warmth pooled inside of me, tipping me over the edge, sending me to heights I didn't know were possible. Cedar looked at me, eyelids drooping and heavy, chest heaving and slick with sweat.

"I love you," Cedar whispered in the secret of the night.

"Love you," I smiled back, laying my head on his chiseled chest.

He grabbed a handkerchief and cleaned us as best as he could. And then he climbed into the bed, pillowing my body with his own.

With my head on his chest, the silver lighting of the moon drifting into the windows, and the sound of his heart in my ears, I drifted to sleep. His warmth cocooned me, causing me to feel safe and sound.

Cee-Cee, my love, had given me a gift, a priceless treasure. He had given me himself, purely, wholly. And I would be damned if I didn't guard that impossibly important gift with my heart. He was mine. I was his.

We were broken people. But maybe that's what made us fit the way we did. Maybe his rough edges would protect my soft ones.

No matter what happened, I would never stop loving the boy that taught me how to feel again. Who brought me back to life. I needed him. But more than that...I chose him. And he chose me.

And wasn't that the point of love?

Sorry if the chapter was a let down - I have never been in a relationship and so I'm just guessing at all this stuff.

Tell me - did this feel consistent with the characters?

Do you feel like the boys are romantic enough?
