In September 1944, Steve rescues Bucky, the Howling Commandos and all other international soldiers who had been held as prisoners of war by Hydra, only to be told by Bucky that he hadn't. When going back for others, he finds out that the last prisoner had been taken away and hidden by Hydra. In January 1945, following an attack by a mysterious, black-clad individual, who Bucky swears he recognises, while on a mission, Bucky falls off the train and to his death. In May 2014, Steve finds out why no one believes the ghost story of The Winter Soldier that Natasha had told him about. Because there were two Winter Soldiers... not one.

Hot shot is very sad he lost his leg. Soon he learns about determination and strength. It will help his through all these trails and become healthy again and to be the same great kid he always was. Mostly realistic oneshot about reader/oc helping Bucky take care of his prosthetic. Slight canon divergence, but I thought it would be interesting if Bucky actually had to take care of what remained of his limb like real people who have lost a limb do. Basically, a safe, cozy little thing about taking care of Bucky and helping him. This can be read as a reader insert if you like, but it's written in the third person using she/her pronouns so you could also take it as an original female character. She is not named, or given a race or body type other than the amputation of her left leg. This isn't clearly definable as either romantic or platonic so it should be comfortable for most people, I hope. ~ I hope you liked this! It assumes his arm is removable. I do not have a limb difference, so there may be inaccuracies but I did some research and watched some videos from those who do have a limb difference (I know people call it different things, so I hope this term is okay). Since we don't really have much information on how his vibranium arm works, I took some liberties in that area. But please, please let me know if I should change something! Especially regarding limb care, I want it to make sense. Also, if anything regarding the limb difference is offensive in any way, please let me know and I will fix it, it's definitely not my intention! Hot shot makes friends with four other kids his age with the same type of cancer. They become the best of friends and fight their cancer together. Hot shot is determined to kick cancer's butt! Slight AU. Based off an interview I found recently of Daniela Ruah stating that the original storyline for season 8 was that Kensi was supposed to lose a limb. This story obviously has some pretty intense themes and sections. I'll mark the especially graphic or darker sections as best I can and make it so not reading those sections shouldn't impact the story too much.
