I couldn't grasp what just had happened. First, my father and his wife were moving to Arizona and second, my ex asked for my hand in marriage in exchange for information about my mother's death and third, my father was happily risking all the mental stability I had created and wanted me to go undercover.

Let's not forget Director Lee who promised he would keep the mission secret but then decided to let my father know was a good idea. I was placed in a weird and awkward position where I couldn't help but wonder if Director Lee was on the wrong side, I couldn't help but wonder if he was working with them? It hadn't crossed my mind previously but now it did. The Stalias leader had uncovered Luciano and me because he received intel from the FBI. What if Director Lee was the one feeding them information?

"Don't you like the movie?" Luciano asked as he put the bag of skittles away and paused the movie we were watching.

"I don't mind it." I shrugged, "But why?"

"You're lost in thought." He noted, "Want to talk about it? I'm good at listening."

"It's complicated," I admitted as I toyed with my fingers.

"I'm an FBI agent, I'm sure I can handle it." He said.

"My dad wants me to go back to Vinchenzo." As soon as those words left my mouth, I saw Luciano change from calm and understanding to murderous and furious.

"Does he not care about you?" He growled.

"He does. Vinchenzo bribed him with some important information."

"What could be so important that he would risk his daughter to get it?" He hissed as he shook his head, a deep frown engraved on his face.

I then proceeded to describe the events of the previous night. Most of the time Luciano was silent, he was choosing to simply listen and not react.

"I think that we can find that information out, we don't need his help."

"I think we need to get the 'take them down' plan started. The world will be a much better place when they no longer exist." I explained as I looked out the window, "We should start with the Vitali family."

"Are you sure?" Luciano asked.

It was going to be hard. I loved him. In fact, I knew that deep down I still do love him and always will but removing all the toxicity out of my life was good for me. Sometimes it is best to do what's best for us, for the sake of our own personal health. The choice was tough but I needed to get rid of him. Put him in an imaginary drawer at the back of my brain, lock it and throw the key. Vinchenzo could no longer be the protagonist of my every thought. He needed to go.

"I am sure." I confirmed with a firm nod, "The quicker the better."

"I am scared that this will hurt you. You love him." Luciano said softly.

"Look, we can not abandon our mission. Yes, I still, unfortunately, love him but making the hard but good choices now will help and ensure my chances of having a better future."

"I think the reason you want to rush it is so that your resolve doesn't weaken." Luciano noted, "After all, you yourself admitted that you loved him. You can't just 'unlove' someone, Ari. I don't want to put you in a difficult position. We can start with the Stalias and the Domano families, we both hate them. They both deserve to be taken down as they have done the most damage. Stalias goes around on killing sprees sparing no one whilst the Domano family goes around ensuring that they push illegal substances onto teenagers to make money off of them."

"Luciano, I am scared that when it is time to hand him over I won't be able to. That is why I want to rush things. I am scared that I will let him in again, I am scared of so many things..."

"I feel like you have left something out of the story. I do understand if you do not want to tell me, but perhaps I can help analyse the situation further?"

I sighed, "Well he wanted to marry me."

"What?" Luciano screamed as his eyes widened.

"Marriage. Me. Him." I said simplifying it for him.

"I heard you." He said shaking his head, "I am just in deep shock."

"So was I when I heard," I said shaking my head, "This man really has the audacity to cheat on me and then try to bribe my father with information so that he can be betrothed to me?"

"I don't understand, what does he gain from marrying you?" Luciano asked as he sat back.

"I don't know!"

"Did you ever speak to him after you ran off? Did you get his side of the story? Maybe you are missing out on some crucial information that could help you. I know that you jump to conclusions very quickly. Sometimes eyes can be deceiving."

I shook my head with rage, "Of course not! All he does is lie! He would've probably made some stupid lie up."

"Look can I ask you something?"

I nodded my head.

"Remembering the story that you told me on the night after the cheating incident had taken place, after the mafia ball I think it was. You mentioned someone who you thought was suspicious by the name of Callum Vas. You told me that Callum was the person who drew your attention to Vinchenzo's whereabouts and even pointed out his location. Are you sure that Callum Vas has your best intentions at heart, Arianna?" Luciano asked.
