You sat in your car, replaying everything that had happened that night and were still unsure how he’d gotten under your skin. All that mattered now was you’d gotten whatever confusion you’d thought you’d felt for Chase out of your system and he wouldn’t be able to get to you anymore. Now you just needed to make sure your family and Vinnie didn’t-

Oh God, VINNIE!

You hurried to pull your phone out and switch it on, hoping for some news about his whereabouts. Your phone vibrated, steady with notifications of voicemails from Bryce, Blake, and Dixie. You were trying to decide who to respond to first when you were startled by a knock at the window. You looked up to find Jaden scowling down at you. You started the car, annoyed as he opened up the passenger door and let himself in.

You: “What do you want Jaden? I already told you nothing was going on with me and Chase. I just came to tell him to stay-”

Jaden: *interrupting*
“Funny, I just assumed you were here to find out where your husband had disappeared to this time.”

Your jaw dropped as Jaden waited for you to put your phone down:
“That would have been a much more believable alibi, just sayin.”

You: “What do you know about Vinnie?”

Jaden: “I know someone is going to a lot of trouble to make it seem like he’s leaving you.”

You clicked to lock the car doors and drove off, trapping him inside:
“Start talking… Now…”

Jaden: “Last time I saw him it just didn’t seem like he was even considering losing you.”

You: “Last time? What do you mean? When?”

Jaden: “I came to talk to him last week.”

You: “Why? He doesn't have anything to do with this business anymore.”

Jaden: “I know. He told me that.”

You: *remembering the video of him with Nessa*
“Not that it’s any of your business,  but it’s pretty clear where he is right now.”

Jaden: “And like I said… that’s what it seems they want you to believe.”

You: “Why should I trust you?”

Jaden: “I can take you where he is and prove it.”

You were skeptical at first but if there was even a chance he would lead you to Vinnie then you had to risk there being an ambush waiting. You called Bryce to let him know where you were headed and Jaden just rolled his eyes:
“You didn’t need to include him.”

You defended the move:
“You’re in no position to call the shots.”

You took a deep breath and pushed the gas pedal to the floor:
“Don’t forget... You are my enemy and now that you’ve betrayed your own brother you will be his.”
