AUTHOR'S NOTE: Just a reminder that this is simply a revival of the original story, SIN CITY. The finale saw us flash 5 years into the future as we were handed control of our father's mafia/mob business. How will that affect our marriage to Vinnie, our past with Chase, etc? Stay tuned!! XOXO~Christy

The meeting with your top 2 security team, Bryce and Blake was not going as planned and it for once wasn't because your dad was struggling to give up power. That surprisingly went smooth since your mom had given the ultimatum that he step down or she would leave.

No, the problem was that the enemy this time wasn't the former big boss Mr. Hossler. He had recently suffered a heart-attack and so it was very clear one of his sons had been calling the shots.

They did have a sister, but since intel couldn't find any info on her, you were sure Jaden or Chase was in charge. You really hoped it was Jaden because as much as you and Vinnie had been fighting over business lately, you didn't have it in you for the showdown that was coming if Chase was in charge.

You still hadn't come to terms with your past with Chase. Watching him die right in your arms had been the single most trauma you'd ever experienced. That was until the day you came face to face with him while rescuing Vinnie.

He never knew his father, but as fate would have it THE Mr. Hossler had been keeping his youngest son a secret from everyone until he used the shooting as a way to fake his death and bring him under his wing. By the time Chase had recovered, he was already completely brainwashed and working with his dad.

He treated you like he didn't even remember what you'd shared until your wedding day when he'd written you that letter basically admitting he wished he was the one up there with you

He treated you like he didn't even remember what you'd shared until your wedding day when he'd written you that letter basically admitting he wished he was the one up there with you. No one but your bodyguard, Bryce knew about the letter but Vinnie knew enough about your past for it to be a problem that you were obsessing over your past.

Blake: "If she uses her history with Chase against him, she could make progress that we never could before."

Marc: "What do you think, sweetheart?"

Vinnie: *growing angry*
"Absolutely not. You don't need to-"

You: *interrupting your husband*
"Can you please leave."

A smug smile spread across Vinnie's face until you clarified:
"Vinnie. Out. This is business and not yours."

He looked completely defeated when he sulked out. You both knew that the business you referred to had been his world until you forced him out so that you could live in peace, only to take over that same business 5 years later.

*VINNIE'S POV*

He sat alone drinking in a bar when he noticed Jaden walk in. He immediately got uneasy because of course he'd stormed out without his bodyguard. He'd just needed to clear his head and didn't plan on ending up here.

Jaden didn't seem to notice Vinnie as he approached a pretty young girl across the bar. Of course Jaden would be meeting up with a girl in a bar. HIs wife, Mads had to be the most naive person on the planet with how many girls his father-in-law's investigators had seen him with over the last year.

Suddenly, Vinnie's thoughts were interrupted by the young girl throwing her drink in Jaden's face and he couldn't help but laugh. Finally the jerk would get rejected and he was able to see it. Maybe today wasn't so bad. Jaden grabbed the girl's arm and she recoiled immediately to slap him across the face.

Jaden: "Fine! Have it your way. You're on your own then."

Nessa: "FINALLY!"

Vinnie sat his drink down after Jaden stormed out and wandered over:"Are you okay? Anything I can do?"

Vinnie sat his drink down after Jaden stormed out and wandered over:
"Are you okay? Anything I can do?"

Nessa: "Guys. They all think they own you somehow. I'm not a kid anymore and I'm not about to let anyone control what I do or where I go."

Vinnie was a little taken aback by how much fury she managed to store in her tiny little 4ft 11in body.

Nessa: *noticing his silence*
"Sorry. Didn't mean to attack your entire gender. Just- Actually can you give me a ride home?"

Vinnie: "I don't actually have a car with me. I walked."

Nessa: "That's okay. It's a beautiful night, you can walk me home instead."

The night was so peaceful. Peace wasn't something Vinnie had experienced much of in his life. The simple beauty of a good deed and cool night air, he couldn't help but smile as he made conversation with this stranger.

Vinnie: "So do you and your boyfriend always fight that dramatically?"

Nessa: "Oh God, no. That was my brother."

Vinnie: "He is gonna flip if he finds out I even talked to you. You don't know who I-"

Nessa: "Shhh... what he doesn't know won't hurt him."

Nessa grabbed Vinnie by the loose fabric of his shirt into her apartment with a smile.
