*CHASE'S POV*

He didn't have enough time to think through what he was doing but truth be told it didn't matter. Every moment of every day since he'd met this beautiful girl in the hallway their junior year of high school, he had loved her more than anything. Even more than he loved himself. God that had been a lifetime ago. Before he found out who his real father was... before he'd been shot... before his father showed up and forced him to fake his own death... before he'd been told she'd fallen in love with someone else... before she married that someone else.

Without a moment's hesitation, he jumped between the girl he had always and still loved and Nessa. It was too late and didn't have enough time to push her out of the way. The sharp metal of the bullet pierced his chest and exited his back before lodging in her shoulder. The force knocked them both to the ground. He heard someone scream out and desperately tried to figure out if it was her voice or his sister's but the blackness overtook him.

*END CHASE'S POV*

You laid in the hospital bed, trying desperately to push your eyes open. You could feel someone next to you holding your hand but your throat was too dry to get out any words:
"Ch-"

Your eyes finally focused as you tried to sit up but a sharp, unbearable pain-filled your shoulder and you slumped back. Vinnie's voice filled the void:
"Shhh... baby it's okay.

You broke down into tears as the memory of everything that happened in Chase's office flooded back. You suddenly remembered the baby and held your stomach in terror:
"Wh- What about the baby? Is the baby okay?"

Vinnie pulled you into his arms:
"Oh, baby. The baby is perfect. It only got your shoulder. Do you hear that sound?"

A gentle but repetitive thump had filled the room since you came to but you hadn't noticed it until now but suddenly it was the most beautiful sound you'd ever heard. Vinnie pointed to the machine next to your bed:
"That's the machine monitoring the baby's heartbeat. Your shoulder needed surgery but you and baby made it through just perfectly."

You buried your face in his chest and let the panic fall out of your body as tears

You buried your face in his chest and let the panic fall out of your body as tears. You finally worked up the nerve to pull back and ask:
"What about Chase?"

Vinnie lowered his head and softly said:
"Nessa got the upper hand on Jaden somehow and I found his body slumped over cold on her studio floor. She then went to the office where she shot Chase and you. Bryce heard the sound from the car where you'd left him and got inside just in time to stop her before she could get off another shot and finish you off."

You buried your face in his chest again in hopes that it would stop him from reading the heartbreak on your expression:
"Did anyone survive?"

Vinnie: "Yes baby, you did and that's what matters."

You pushed him back and asked again more aggressively:
"Answer my question, Vinnie!"

Vinnie understood what you were too scared to ask:
"He's gone, baby."

You had decided a long time ago that any feeling you had for Chase just weren't enough to forgive him for leaving you the way he had all those years ago. The love would probably always be there but Vinnie was the one you wanted to spend your future with. You truly and deeply loved Vinnie, but having made that decision didn't make it any easier to face a world where Chase didn't exist in it somewhere for the second time in your short life.

You: "They are all gone? The entire Hossler family is really gone?"

Vinnie placed his hand on your belly and answered:
"I guess that's up to you..."

AUTHOR'S NOTE:  This is the end of this revival. I will update my profile with which one is next, but if you haven't already had a chance check out my new story I have been posting simultaneously: The Bachelor. For now, this is the end of the Hossler/D'amelio Crime Family drama. I hope you loved it as much as I have loved writing it. It was a new genre that I'd never tried my hand at and honestly, I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. To clarify the ending it can be assumed that Vinnie was telling you that it was 'up to you' whether you still wanted to get a DNA test and risk the chance that the Hossler bloodline wasn't really gone or just move on with the very real probability that your husband, Vinnie was the father and never speak on it again. I left it open intentionally to not show your response because that simply would have opened up a whole new storyline and this just felt right as a Vinnie fanfic to end it with just him and you letting go of Chase once and for all. Of course, there's always the possibility I come back to this story someday in the future and write it from this point on or even the story of our child and their search for how our past holds the key to who they really are. I guess you guys will just have to stay tuned to find that out.   XOXO ~ Christy
