Chapter Forty-Four

Emery

He wants to... apologize to me? I come from behind James but keep my head down.

"Ms. Emery." I hold my head up to look at him.

"I'm so sorry for the way I've treated you last time we've met. It wasn't proper of me and I didn't mean to make you feel terrible of yourself." He says.

"It's alright." I say. He nods and smiles.

"James, my son." Richard then says to James.

"I'm so sorry about disrespecting your queen right here. I realize now that you and her are a good couple and I hope that one day, you'll decide to marry her." He says and I blush. James smiles and looks down at me.

"Of course I forgive you, Richard. You've raised me after my parents died." James said.

Richard pats James' back and gives me a soft hug. He pulls away.

"Beautiful, you truly are." He says and I chuckle.

"Thank you." I say and he nods and disappears from our sight.

James and I finished our grocery shopping and checked out. We sung loudly to the songs on the radio. We were certainly in a good mood.

We got back home and place the groceries where they belonged. I walk upstairs to take my hair out. I also had placed warm socks on my feet because my feet were cold once I took my shoes off.

I lay on the bed and relax. I was feeling a bit tired after grocery shopping with James. I turned on Netflix and went to my favorite show, 'Grey's Anatomy.'

James walk into the room and smirked. I look at him and smiled.

"What?" I ask.

"You're just so beautiful." He says and I look down and blush.

"Come here." He told me and I walk to him.

Once I was in front of him, he pulls me into his arms and hugs me tightly. I snuggle my head into his chest. He placed his cheek on the top of my head.

We just stand there. My eyes are closed, taking in this amazing feeling.

"I love you." He soon says quietly.

"I love you too." I say.

He pulls away, but still has my arm around my waist. He looks down at me while I look up at him. He caresses my cheek and I lean my head into his touch.

"How did I get so lucky?" He whispers. I chuckle and look down, blushing.

"You really love me as much as you say you do?" I ask him.

I don't doubt his love for me. I just... I don't know, I've never felt love like this from anybody and when I first met James, I never expected for us to fall in love. I could actually marry him one day.

"Why would you ask that? Of course I do." He says and I smile. "You're the most beautiful woman I've ever laid eyes on, honestly. I want you to have my babies one day. You're the only one for me."

I smile. "You're the only one for me." I repeat and he bends down, kissing my lips.

I giggle when he pulls away. He picks me up and I squeal. He loves holding me like I'm a baby. His baby.

"Why do you like holding me like this?" I ask chuckling.

"Because you're so light and small, like a baby." He says like I predicted and I just smile and snuggle in his shoulder.

He walks with me on his hip downstairs and I just smile. He sets me down on the couch and grab a bowl of popcorn from off of the table.

"Wait, I need to cook dinner." I tell him.

"I already ordered us a pizza. Let's have a Netflix date night." He says and I smile.

"Just us..." he kisses my cheek. "We'll watch whatever movie you want and just chill."

"So, can we watch 'Grease?'" I ask him, giggling.

"Whatever you want, baby." He says smiling and I lean over and kiss his lips.

The pizza came five minutes later. I, of course got my slice first and started eating. James then started the movie.

I leaned my head on his shoulder and smiled while watching. I could feel his eyes on me half of the time. I wanted to look back but I knew I would start blushing by the minute.

The movie was finished and I was super tired. I had to clean the house before I went to sleep.

"Baby, you're tired." James said.

"But... I have... to clean." I mumbled, picking up the broom.

"The maids will be here tomorrow. Come with me to sleep." He says taking the broom from my hands.

"Ok." I soon say after standing and staring at him.

He smiles and picks me up, carrying me upstairs. As soon as my body touched the mattress, I fell asleep right away.
