“i've waited a hundred years.

but i'd wait a million more for you.

nothing prepared me for

what the privilege of being yours would do.” -Turning Page, Sleeping at Last

it wasfinally the day. The day of my wedding. I was told I was too young by people but ignored them. 24 is the right age. I spent the past year planning with my mom and Gina. We found the perfect wedding dress. It was an A-Line lace gown that was simple. I fell in the love the moment I put it on. I was staring at myself in the mirror of my mom’s bedroom. Gina was zipping up the dress.

“You look absolutely beautiful.” She said she looked as if she was going to cry. The wedding wasn’t going to be big, just a few friends and our family. I was getting married in Australia and some of my family had flown out to see me, even Nala came and my grandparents. Professor Thymal came and even Justin from UCLA came. He and Nala started dating and they got pretty serious, of course I was the reason for that. I invited Steven Spielberg to my wedding because he became a friend of mine, but he couldn’t come. But he did send me a present. It was an invitation to a movie set along with an old fashion camera.

“Gina I’m scared.” I said taking a deep breathe as my mom pinned some loose curls up.

“Don’t be, it’s normal to feel nervous.” She told me. Both my mom and Gina took a step back and they looked like they were going to burst.

“I love you guys. I don’t think I would be the girl I am today if it wasn’t for you two. Thank you.”  I said going to hug them but they didn’t let me. They didn’t want to ruin their master piece.

“You’re not a girl anymore, you’re a women.” My mom told me.

“Thank you mom.” I said kissing her cheek and then kissed Gina’s cheek.

“You know you’re going to be late if we don’t get a move on, the boys are already at the church along with plenty of the guests. Is Nala down stairs?” Gina asked. Nala was my maid of honor and Kaitlyn, Sarah, and My cousin Lela were all bridesmaids. Jai was Luke’s best man.

“They are all down stairs Gina.” I said holding up my dress as the photographer snapped pictures. I felt like the paparazzi were following me. It was weird.

“Holy shit Reag, you look hot.” Nala said greeting me.

“Thanks Nala. You look good yourself.” I said smiling. I was happy.

I decided to get married on September 11th, because it fell on a Sunday, and it was in honor of my father. It was warm outside, but not too hot.

“Are you ready?” Nala asked me linking arms as we walked towards the car that would be driving me, my mom and Gina. The bridal party was going in the limo.

“Let’s do this.” I said saying good bye as I got into the car, trying not to fall over my gown.

The church bells were ringing when I arrived. I noticed the other limo that had Luke, Jai, James, Beau and Skip in it. I knew they were waiting inside. I held the note card that held my vows on them. Luke and I opted to write our own vows because it was more personal.

“Ready?” The doorman asked. My mom was waiting with Gina in the pews with our family. I was confused because I thought my mom was going to be walking me down the aisle in replacement of my father.

“Ready Reag?” I turned around to see Beau standing there in his tux looking rather dashing with a smile across his face.

“What are you doing Beau?” I asked in extreme confusion.

“I’m here to escort my soon to be sister in law down the aisle!”

“But..What..Wait..why?”

“Shut up and let’s go. I swear you are way more nervous than Luke right now. It should be the other way around. It’s your wedding day, enjoy it. Are you ready?” He was smiling. I couldn’t help but smile back.

“Let’s go Boo.” I said linking arms with him, the veil in front of my face. I took a deep breath and Beau told the doorman to open the door. I heard the music start to play, and everyone stand. I whispered to Beau, “Don’t let me fall.”

“I wouldn’t let that happen on your wedding day.” He answered. Not on my wedding day, but any other day he would.

Luke’s Point of View:

I couldn’t stop smiling as I saw my brother walk her down the aisle. I was trying not to cry, but i couldn’t help it. I was smiling and crying happy tears. I looked over at Jai who was smiling too, he had not only been the biggest help during my entire relationship with Reagan, but the best critic. He told me what to do and how to act. Without him, without my twin brother Reagan and I might be in a different type of relationship.

“Who gives this women to be wedded to this man?” The priest asked.

“I do.” Beau asked lifting Reagan’s veil and kissing her on the cheek before coming back on the alter next to Jai. I looked at how beautiful she looked. She looked absolutely incredible, words couldn’t describe how amazing she looked at this very moment. I was almost speechless looking at her.

“Now Reagan and Luke have decided to write their own vows.” The priest said and people chuckled. “You may begin Luke.”

“I Luke Another Mark Brooks take Reagan Marie Rationi to be my wife. But not only my wife my best friend forever and always. Reag, this might not sound professional like it should be, or how you will write it but you will always be my best friend. Since the time we were 6 until like the old couples you see eating in the diners.” I paused as i noticed she was wiping tears away from her face and so was a lot of the people in the church. “I realized that I needed to have you when Jai told me back in New York when we were 17. That long ago. Jai convinced me how important you were to me, and convinced me that I was really in love with you. I was in denial back then, I didn’t think I could love my best friend. I thought those things only happened in movies, but I was wrong. A famous idol of mine once sang, ‘you can’t fly unless you let yourself fall.‘ Reagan I’m going to be their to catch you. I love you Reagan forever and always.”  I paused clearing my throat and held my tears and Reagan took out a piece of paper that was tucked in her flowers. She smiled and wiped the tears away from her face.

“Remember Luke when we used to play family when we were just 6. It was when I first started to know you. I always was the mom and Jai was always my husband. Beau was the baby and you Luke. You were the pet dog.” People laughed even the Priest. I couldn’t help but smile. “I was the luckiest girl in the world to have a pet dog like you. I still wonder to this day why Jai was my pretend husband because looking at us now it’s kind of a reversed roll, except Jai isn’t a dog.

Luke I think i’m incredibly blessed to be part of this family, you and your family accept me and my mom when we needed a home. When we needed a family. Now I can say i’m really part of this Brooks Family. I’m going to be Reagan Brooks. I never thought in a million years that we would end up in the amazing relationship that we had. We had our disagreements, but what couple doesn’t. I love you Luke, I always will forever and always.” She had me in tears, I told myself I wouldn’t cry today but i couldn’t help it.

“I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss your bride.” The priest said. I leaned into Reagan and kissed her softly, but patiently on the lips. “Ladies and Gentleman, Mr. and Mrs. Luke Brooks.” The priest announced and then people started to applaud.
