Nialls POV

As the luxurious jet touched down in Dublin airport, I felt some of the pressure from recent events unravel in my chest and I knew straight away that coming home was a good idea.

I felt like a coward leaving a voicemail like that and not giving the lads a proper explanation but they are my best friends; I just hope they understand. I picked up my phone and coat(the only possessions I took on the journey) and Walked to the exciting at the front of the cabin.

The Air hostess have bend another flirtatious smile as she wished me a pleasant holiday. I smiled tightly at her, wanting to escape her fake Aura that hung on all air host and hostesses shoulders.

I don't see the point in having high heels and tight skirts and a job which would make them a burden but who am I to question the status quo. As I stepped out onto the steps I couldn’t help but sigh contentedly. It may be raining and dull and simple.

This is my home.

I walked these streets when I was younger and I spoke to these people as friends. I spotted another airport worker at the bottom of the steps waiting for me to come down.

I walked down the steps slowly and greeted her politely as I was taught from a young age. Just her Irish accent seemed to make me more amicable when only a few hours ago I couldn't look my friends in the eyes and speak.

Pushing away the painful memory I stored it in a chest in my head labelled "think over later" which over these past few hours, has been becoming increasingly crowded.

"Hello Niall my name is Sheila, welcome back to Ireland! You have been missed!" the airport attended said jovially, the stereotypical happy-go-lucky Irish accent really making its mark.

I smiled back and answered "it's good to be back, it's been too long!" she just smiled as she led me towards a smaller more private arrivals tunnel.

Of course, even over here walking into an airport from a plane normally was unthinkable. I realised that Sheila was talking to me, so I quickly snapped out of my thoughts.

"...for a more pleasant passage through the airport we have allocated a golf cart to take you to either where your family is waiting or a taxi service." as we travelled down endless corridors, I nodded along to what she had to say as this woman had done nothing wrong to deserve my cold shoulder.

On the plane I had texted mam telling her I am coming home for a bit and her delighted reply had me smiling again. She and my friend Gavin were coming to greet me at the airport and I could not wait to see them. The drama back home had been taking up too much space in my life and it's time to get rid of it, how I have not decided yet.

Sheila had led me into a room which looked like a private arrivals and there sat my mother. Age had not affected her spirit at all over these past years and author her encouraging me to go on X factor I would have still been living in a small village in Westmeath.

She caught sight of me and shot up at once, her arms opening into an awaiting embrace which I succumbed to at once. Her delighted squeals filled my ears and I couldn't help but laugh at her reaction.
