My life is great

My life is great.

I have a good job,

a beautiful wife

and a beautiful home.

I'm like a bird

flying free in the sky.

Nothing can ruin this perfect life.

The next morning

I wake up and see

there is no one

lying next to me.

I look around

but cannot find

my beautiful,

trustful

wife.

A few hours later

i see my wife

walking around town.

I start running toward her

i've finally found her

but i am stopped

dead in my tracks

when i see her approach

another man.

They hug and kiss

and have some coffee.

They're leaving now

walking with held hands.

I follow close behind

to see where they're headed.

15 long minutes later

they approach a building.

He puts in the key

i hear it unlock

and they walk in.

I wait a few moments

then walk to the door

and pick it quickly

slipping in.

I walk up

a flight of stairs

two

three

four

then stop.

i hear sounds...

moans

on this floor.

i go toward the door

listen in for a bit

then i close my eyes.

When i reopen my eyes

the door is kicked in

i am in the bedroom.

blood.

so much blood.

all over the floor.

the man

lies in front of me

naked

a knife protruding

from his chest.

I look toward the bed.

my wife is sitting

staring at me

as if i was crazy.

i walk toward her

she screams,

yells

at the top of her lungs.

i put my hand

over her mouth.

i tell her

everything

will be okay.

i take the gun

out of its holster.

i put it

in her mouth.

she stares at me

her eyes show

sadness.

she looks at me

apologetically.

i smile at her

and pull the trigger.

i hear sirens

in the distance.

i look out the window

and see red and blue

flashing lights.

i lie next to my wife

looking at

her beautiful face.

and thats

the last thing i see

before

i pull the trigger

once more......

I open my eyes

my hand

a few inches from the door.

i move it away

and keep walking

up flights of stairs

until i hit

the roof.

i walk to the edge

looking at

the busy street

i stare

as the sun goes down

and wait

until the moon

is at its peak.

I let myself fall

it feels..

peaceful.

I am free.
