--Fluff, Soft/slight Angst

-

As they stumbled through the streets, Chuuya's drunken antics seemed to escalate with every step. He insisted on serenading passing strangers with off-key renditions of classic love songs, much to Dazai's embarrassment.

"Dazai, I love you!" Chuuya exclaimed loudly, wrapping his arms around Dazai's neck in a drunken hug. "You're my hero!"

Dazai chuckled nervously, trying to navigate the maze of alleyways while supporting Chuuya's weight. "I'm glad you think so, Chuuya," he replied with a strained smile. "But let's focus on getting you home in one piece, okay?"

Chuuya nodded enthusiastically, but his enthusiasm quickly faded as he stumbled over a crack in the sidewalk. "I think I'm going to be sick," he groaned, clutching his stomach with a dramatic flourish.

Dazai's eyes widened in alarm as he tried to steady Chuuya. "Hold on, Chuuya, we're almost there," he reassured him, trying to ignore the stares of passersby as they struggled to maintain their dignity.

As they stumbled through the dimly lit streets, Chuuya's question hung heavy in the air, casting a shadow over their otherwise lighthearted banter.

"Osamu?" Chuuya's voice was soft, barely audible over the distant hum of the city. "How long do I have, till you leave me again..?"

Dazai's steps faltered for a moment, his heart sinking at the earnestness in Chuuya's tone. He glanced sideways at his partner, searching for the right words to ease Chuuya's fears.

"Never again, Chibi," Dazai replied without hesitation, his voice steady despite the turmoil swirling inside him. "I promise you, I'll never leave your side again."

Chuuya's gaze softened at Dazai's words, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "You better not," he teased gently, nudging Dazai with his elbow. "I don't think I could handle being alone again."

Dazai reached out, intertwining his fingers with Chuuya's as they continued their slow journey home. "You'll never have to, Chuuya," he vowed, his grip tightening reassuringly. "I'll always be here for you, no matter what."

With those words hanging between them like a promise, they trudged onward through the darkness, their steps in sync as they navigated the uncertain path ahead.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, they reached their apartment building. Dazai practically dragged Chuuya up the stairs, their laughter echoing through the empty corridors as they stumbled towards their door.

With shaky hands, Dazai fumbled with the keys, cursing under his breath as he struggled to unlock the door. Chuuya leaned heavily against him, his breath hot against Dazai's neck as he muttered drunkenly about the wonders of friendship.

At last, the door swung open, revealing the dimly lit interior of their apartment. Dazai practically carried Chuuya inside, depositing him unceremoniously on the couch before collapsing beside him with a relieved sigh.

Chuuya grinned up at him, his eyes shining with drunken mischief. "Thanks for the adventure, Dazai," he slurred, reaching out to pat Dazai's cheek affectionately. "You're the best partner in crime a guy could ask for."

Dazai chuckled, shaking his head as he wrapped an arm around Chuuya's shoulders. "You're lucky I love you, Chuuya," he replied with a fond smile. "Now let's get you some water before you pass out."

As they settled into bed, the soft glow of the bedside lamp casting gentle shadows across the room, Chuuya's fingers idly traced the contours of Dazai's pendant, the metal cool against his skin.

Dazai watched him silently, his heart swelling with affection as Chuuya's touch danced over the familiar shape. He reached out, his fingers threading through Chuuya's hair with a tenderness born of years spent together.

"You like playing with that, don't you?" Dazai murmured, his voice barely above a whisper as he brushed his lips against Chuuya's forehead. "It's like you're trying to unravel all my secrets."

Chuuya chuckled softly, the sound melodic in the quiet of the room. "Maybe I am," he teased, his fingers stilling for a moment before resuming their gentle exploration. "But I think I already know all your secrets, Osamu."

Dazai smiled, his gaze softening as he looked down at Chuuya. "Then I guess you're stuck with me, aren't you?" he replied, his voice tinged with warmth.

Chuuya's sweet innocent smile widened, his eyes fluttering closed as he leaned into Dazai's touch. "I wouldn't have it any other way," he whispered, the words a vow whispered into the darkness.

Dazai liked these moments with Chuuya, where it was peacful just him and Chuuya against the whole world. And as they drifted off to sleep, tangled together in the cocoon of their love, the weight of their promises hung heavy in the air, binding them together in a bond that transcended time and space.
