"Sio!"

"Lexi!" I mimic my twin's cheerful tone.

"Where are you going?" She questioned as I tried to make my way to the front door.

"Flo's mama is picking me up and I'm going to go to their house for a little, I already asked Giovanni and he said he didn't care as long as I came home before the sun was all the way down."

"I don't like her." Alexandra mumbled, I'm not sure if I was actually meant to hear that part but either way, I did.

"Why not? She's really nice."

"I don't know, there's just something about her that doesn't feel right and her mama doesn't feel any better. Papa always taught us to trust out gut and I don't like her."

"Everything will be fine Lexi. It's not like she's a serial killer or anything." I jokingly roll my eyes knowing that our family runs one of the largest mafia branches. Not much can actually be worse than that.

"I just don't want you to get hurt, you're my brother."

"I won't be hurt Alexandra, I will be home later today, okay?"

"Fine, but don't say I didn't warn you."

Tuesday December 5, 2023 - Present Day

It is very possible that my sister had ever reason to worry, but it was never for me, with everything going on these last few weeks I can't help but question everything Florence once said or did.

I guess its true what they say, love makes people blind to reality and I refuse to let it happen again.

Just thinking about everything that i could have done differently caused tears to begin to pool in my eyes but I quickly blink them away, refusing to let the water drip down my face.

"Can I ask you something?" I quietly ask my twin sister as she sits at her desk trying to get caught up on school work despite the fact I offered to help her.

She's always been smarter than me in regards to book smarts but it's still a lot of work so Manuel, Dante, and I all offered to lend a hand however she declined with every offer so I learned it's probably for the best to not push it.

"Sure. Doesn't mean I'm going to answer it but you can ask me anything."

I take a deep breath, slowly recalling everything my girlfriend has told me over the years, "why do you hate me? Or why did you hate me? I'm not sure if you still do..... I just can't stop questioning it."
