There's something about water that I always found fascinating.

A long time ago I declared the seemingly never ending sea to be the peaceful killer.

From the warm sand you can find comfort in the calming waves as they continuously clash against the cliffs, but one wrong move and you could find yourself swept under the deadly current.

I feel like there's some form of analogy there. My life versus the loud tide.

The waves are loud as they hit the hard rock but the second you are washed away with it, the world goes silent and all you can hear is your mind screaming at you to just breathe but the more you breathe, the more water you take into your lungs, and the quicker you die.

How scary the feeling of drowning is, in a place with no water.

Betrayal while you are drowning is enough to drive you over the edge, and the most devastating part about betrayal is the fact it will never come from your enemies.

Something I had to learn is that some people are actually willing to betray years of friendship, just to receive the slightest bit of spotlight that you are unable to give them. Chances are they will end up crawling back to you when everything inevitably comes to crash and burn. I suppose it's up to you if you accept them back into your life, but who's to say they won't do it again the next time the opportunity makes itself known.

Even still, I find myself grasping onto those few happy memories that haven't been plagued in my mind.

"Holy smokes." I gasp, hunching over with my hands on my knees as I attempt to catch my breath, "you've always been a fast runner but I think you got faster, I didn't even think that was possible!" I exclaimed dramatically.

"My mom has made me start running track again, you know how she is, she wanted to be some big famous track star in her youth and because she ended up pregnant with Jayden and then Bridget soon after, apparently it is my duty to live the life my big brother and sister ruined. Her words not mine. I'm sure she would've made Jayden do it since it was originally him that ruined her running career but there was no way she could get him to do do anything he didn't want to do, and well you know Bridget, she sort of has a mind of her own." My best friend in the entire universe, Sally Bruce, explained with a light shrug, I know she doesn't much care for running either but unlike her big sister, she won't tell her mom 'no'.

"I don't know, I sort of admire her, she always has this strong 'I don't need anyone because I can just do it myself' mindset. I don't know, it's kind of cool."
