Tuesday March 6, 2018 - Five years ago
"Dante? What's wrong? Why are you crying?" I asked swiftly.
Just a few seconds ago I was just doing my homework and now my cousin is silently sobbing on my bed when he wasn't even in my house a few moments ago.
"I know we weren't as close but I didn't think he would just up and leave me." He whimpered in response.
"DanDan... What are you talking about?" I quickly stood from my desk and made my way over to my upset cousin, I love my brothers but Dante will always be my best friend.... It's the way things have always been. Wherever I was, Danny was never too far behind... He's the one I will always count on.
Dante makes life a little brighter even when he is unaware as to what has been going on in recent years.
He makes me want to fight.
"Ciro." Dante whispered, "I know we aren't as close as you, Lucius, Alessio, and Romeo but he's still my brother..."
"I need you to be a little more specific."
"He freaking left Lexi, he just left... Packed his bags in the middle of the night and vanished. He didn't even give me an explanation.... The most I got from him was a freaking sticky note that said 'I will be back some day' and was signed by him... He left me with no explanation just a pathetic sticky note in his place."
"I don't even know what to say." I whispered, and it was the truth. I never truly know what to say in situations like this.
"You don't have to say anything... I'll be okay... Can I stay here tonight, I really don't want to go home right now."
"Of course... I'll get some extra blankets from the linen closet and make some hot chocolate if that's okay.... You can call Becca from my phone if you would like as well, we call all have a sleep over."
"That sounds good... Hey Lexi..."
"Yeah?"
"You won't ever leave me, right?"
"Never ever ever, you're stuck with me cugino" [Italian Translation: cousin]
"Love you."
"Love you too Danny, now get comfy and I will be right back, I promise."
