TW for abuse.

I've seen a couple of fics where jays dad was abusive as well and decided to do one.

Jay decided to try and fix his relationship with his dad. He was now 35 but hadn't seen him since he was 18. His father was abusive just like Haileys. He got to his dad's house and they talked for a bit. The conversation was pretty heated.

"I wish you were more like your brother. He doesn't mess up as much as you and he's not being reckless and putting himself in danger every day like you do" Pat told Jay

"I'm doing what I love. I am protecting people. I am making Chicago a safer city." Jay replied.

"You had always been reckless ever since childhood. You should've become a doctor like Will." Pat told him.

"I didn't want to be a doctor I wanted to protect people" Jay replied

"Not in this family. In this family, kids listen to and respect their parents. I told you not go to into the military and you didn't listen. You went into Bootcamp when you should've gone to med school." Pat told him

"That's not what I wanted to do. I didn't want to be a doctor" Jay replied

"I dont care in my house what I say goes," Pat told him

"Stay here I need to use the bathroom we're not done," Pat told him

Jay stayed on the couch he was determined to get through to him. He was scrolling on his phone when out of nowhere he was hit in the head with a metal pole, knocking him out. Jay's dad then took off his belt and started to beat Jay with it. Jay woke up a few minutes later and tried to fight back but was too weak and dizzy. The beating lasted 15 minutes.

"This wouldn't have happened if you would've listened to me. If you would've just become a Doctor like Will this never would've happened" Pat told him

Jay was too weak to answer and laid there for a bit. A couple of minutes later Pat yelled at him to get out.

"GET OUT AND NEVER COME BACK DO YOU UNDERSTAND?" Pat asked

"Yes, I will never be back here again. You can count on that" Jay replied shakily

This earned jay a kick to the head

"LEAVE" Pat yelled

Jay slowly crawled to his truck and pulled himself in. he drove to the next neighborhood and sat there for a bit until his vision was as blurry. He drove home and limped inside. He could barely walk. Hailey saw him limp in and immediately ran up to him.

Jay oh my god are you ok? What happened?" Hailey asked concerned.

"My dad" Jay replied

"Oh my god, Jay I'm so sorry where are you hurt?" Hailey asked

"Back and head. I got knocked out. It hurts to breathe" Jay replied

"Ok we need to get you to med I wanna take a look at your back first. I can see blood soaking through your shirt let's get you on the couch." Hailey said leading him to the couch

She got him over to the couch and lifted his shirt. Her knuckle slightly brushed against one of his bruises and he flinched in pain.

"I'm sorry I'm so sorry" Hailey soothed

She put her ear up to his back and could hear his breathing was irregular.

"We need to get you to med babe" Hailey told him.

"Ok, but I want to tell will I got jumped on a run. This is something I want to do in person and thinking straight" Jay told her

"How long is his shift? I know he only hurt you but is there a chance he could hurt Will?" Hailey asked
