Conrad stared at the ceiling with his hands behind his head. He couldn't sleep. He couldn't stop thinking about the conversation he had with Briella. More like the argument.

He didn't know why he always found ways to fuck things up with them. He hated seeing the girl like this. He hated to think he was the cause of her pain. He knew he didn't have a say in who she kisses. He lost that right when he asked Belly to the deb ball.

But seriously? Emmett? That guys a tool. The boy didn't even have to know him to know. I mean, do you not see the socks he wears? Star Wars socks? Really?

Nerd alert.

The boy gave up trying to fall asleep. He put on a jacket and flip flops and walked out and downstairs. Maybe a change of scenery will do him justice.

When he arrived at the beach, he didn't expect to see someone laying there, curled up in a fetal position. What was she doing out here so late?

As he stood in front of her, he couldn't help but admire how peaceful she looked sleeping. She was still wearing her clothes he saw earlier. She probably has been here since their argument. The boy couldn't help but feel bad. She must be freezing. So he immediately took off his jacket and put it on her. She was always a heavy sleeper, so he didn't have to worry that she'd wake up.

Conrad scooped the girl in his arms and made his way back into the house. Even if he wanted to sit on the beach and think, he needed to get the girl back in. At least somewhere to sleep comfortably. He debated whether to have her sleep in his room or the spare guest room.

He chose the latter. Even if he wanted so badly to have her sleep in his room, he knew it wasn't the right decision. He wanted to respect her space. And besides, she would kill her if she saw him sleeping next to her.

Conrad wanted so badly to tell the girl about last year. He regretted his decision so much but it had to be done. The girl deserved some much better. She deserved someone who would treat her like the Queen she is. She didn't deserve a screw up like him.

The boy put the blanket over her body and kissed her forehead. "I love you Ella."

And he meant every word.
