(TW??~ Implications of prior smut)
Roman laid there in bed, Virgil flush against his chest, in nothing but his boxers as he held his mate as close as he could. He just couldn't take his eyes off the man in his arms. God, he loved him so much. Roman smiled fondly as he traced the white mark on Virgil's neck with his fingertips. He was just waiting at this point... waiting for his love to wake up. The night prior had been... amazing. By the time his wolf had had enough waiting, Roman didn't even feel the pain anymore. He was more than happy to just give in and let go. Virgil had shared such an intimate moment with him and at no point during any of what they did, did Virgil seem scared or hurt. They were just... together... in love... mates.
When his fear finally left him Roman couldn't have been happier. When he finally marked Virgil all he could feel was this... connection. A burst of energy... a sense of completion. He felt... whole. He felt Virgil's heart beating against his chest and he sighed happily just melting into the moment. He really couldn't have been any happier. Everything was perfect. He had his mate. He had his pack. And soon Virgil will have his parents back too... Everything was going just as it should have been and Roman was in heaven.

Roman lit up as Virgil shifted over him, hugging him closer as his heart raced. He just couldn't get over the fact that they were both FINALLY marked. Their bond was fully formed. He was so happy. Virgil hummed as his eyes fluttered open and Roman was met with those lovely icy hazel eyes. He couldn't help but purr.
"My love... You're awake." Virgil hummed louder as he fixed himself till he was laying literally on top of the other, thankfully Roman had cared for him and at least helped him back into his boxers... not that it mattered considering. "How are you feeling?"
"Bliss." Virgil whispered out with a hushed tone making Roman blush with pride. Virgil smiled as he leaned in against him nuzzling his nose into Roman's mark making the other sigh. "I love you."
"I love you, my sweet." Roman chuckled before rolling them both over and pressing a soft kiss to his forehead. "I hope your rest was pleasant?" Virgil rolled his eyes as he nodded, knowing full well that Roman knew it was. Roman only smiled more as he moved away only to grab a plate, letting Virgil sit up with a look in his eyes. "To get some energy back." Roman smiled awkwardly as Virgil took the plate and started to nibble away at the sandwich. "I hope you don't mind. I... I actually asked Colt to make it. He came in to check on us knowing I really didn't want to see the others yet. I asked him to... I just didn't want to leave you. Not for one single second..." Virgil giggled as shook his head playfully.
"It's ok, Ro. I understand. I didn't want to either." Roman's eyes shined as Virgil smiled as he nibbled away, taking small bites just staring into his eyes. "I didn't want to leave you either. I only ever left to eat and to get you food but... by that time you'd woken up."
"I'm really sorry, Virgil."
"It's ok. I know what happened. I'm just happy we got past it." Virgil purred as Roman placed his hand gently over the smaller's mark. "Together forever, right?"
"Always, My love." Virgil just rolled his eyes softly as he finished up his sandwich only for both the alphas to jump at the sound of a loud crash. Their eyes shot wide as they jumped out of bed as fast as they could.
"You sure they're ok?" Remus mumbled anxiously as he paced about the room. Colt only nodded as he looked around at everyone's worried faces. Patton handed out cookies as Colt followed with his eyes. That's one thing he didn't like about being a ghost. He missed the treats. He had no physical form so he couldn't eat anything.
"I just checked up on them not that long ago. Virgil was still asleep but Roman was better than he had been since we got here. I'm telling you they're ok." Remus nodded although still clearly anxious. Colt sighed as he glanced around taking in everyone's nervous expressions. Well... nervous until, Janus's head snapped up with a low growl. Logan frowned a bit in concern only to tense up. Something must be wrong. As Beta's their senses are as strong as an Alpha's. They shared a look before nodding to each other. Janus was up within seconds, super speeding out the door leaving them all behind.
"Logan?" Patton and Remus both yelled out in confusion as Logan's eyes shifted.
"What's going on?" Colt continued highly aware of the tension in the room.
"Wolf." Patton dropped his cookie tray creating a loud crash as the room plummeted into silence. "Janus is just getting surveillance but... We both smelt another wolf nearby."
"In town?" Remus frowned in confusion as he tried to work through everything. His anxiety over his mate was starting to get the better of him. "But you didn't react like thi..."
"No, Ray. Nearby... as in near our house."
"What's going on?" The group jumped at the sudden sound of Roman's voice making them all spin to see the two alpha's now fully dressed and both equally concerned. "We heard a crash. Logan?" Virgil's eyes scanned the room before meeting with Remus's and he frowned.
"Where's Dee?"
"There's an unknown wolf nearby." Logan responded trying not to cringe as Virgil growled protectively. Roman wrapped his arm around his mate trying to keep him calm but they could tell from his shifted eyes he was not happy either. "Janus went out to check it out."
"Logan, I recommend you going too. That way he's not alone in case anything happens. I trust him but I want you both safe." Roman was quick to call out as he took charge. "You know the drill, the rules... do what you feel is best at the moment. I'm trusting you."
"As you wish, Alpha." With a sudden gust, Logan was gone and Roman sighed as he rubbed Virgil's arm.
"We need to move."
"Move?" Roman nodded as he started to lead his mate to the door. "Why? What are we doing?"
"We're going outside to wait for them to come back. Logan and I have rules in place for these situations. That's one of the reasons I sent him and not Remus." Virgil frowned as Roman stopped them both in front of the packhouse, the other members behind them both. "If it's a rouge he'll signal me. If it's a passing wolf he'll ask it it's business in our territory. Again he'll signal me if I'm needed. Unlike other packs, we try not to be..."
"Aggressive?" Colt offered making Roman smile a bit.
"Quick to anger. We aren't like other packs." Roman continued as keeping his attention all around him waiting for any sign that he might be needed. "And if it's someone in need of help..."
"ROMAN!" The group paled as Roman tensed up smelling the scent of blood.
"He'll bring them here." Virgil stumbled as Roman ran off making Remus have to jump in to hold Virgil back and calm him. It was only about two seconds later that the three came back. Logan had this broken man about their age in his arms, covered completely in blood as Roman made sure he was the ONLY other wolf around. Janus rushed back to Remus's side shivering like crazy. It was obvious why. "Logan lay him down over there. He can't come inside until we know if he's safe. Patton go clear the guest bed just in case. Virgil, love?" Virgil's eyes snapped over to his mate as Roman finally pulled him back in. "I need you to call Thomas. Can you do that?" Virgil nodded as he fumbled for his phone. Roman turned back to the boy as Logan laid him down in the soft grass. The boy's hair was matted red, slicked to his pasty skin, that was covered in dark painful bruises and cuts. He'd been in an obvious fight.
"I say we drop him off at the hospital and just leave him." Remus whined as he held Janus close. "We don't need this right now. We don't even..."
"NO!" Colt yelled out shocking everyone as he just stared at the boy in the grass. "No. NO, w-we... we have to help him. Please?"
"We are helping him... by getting him to a hospital." Logan responded as he shook his head. "I agree with Remus here, Roman. With everything that had just happened with you and Virgil. We can't afford to put ourselves at risk. You're still a bit weak and I know you are, so don't lie."
"NO! No please!" Colt tried again as he looked over as Virgil with such desperation. Virgil frowned as he shook his head making Colt crash.
"We just don't have the strength right now." Virgil whispered eyes darting to Roman making it painfully obvious they were all too worried about the other alpha to care for the boy on the ground. Well... all but the ghost.
"You don't understand. Roman!" His last attempt to try and get someone to see reason. Their eyes met and there was a flash of understanding in Roman's eyes. Colt was practically holding back his tears. "Don't. Please... We need to help him. Please help him." Roman's expression softened as Colt tensed in dire desperation. "Please, Ro?"
"Logan take him side and tend to any wounds you can. I'll be in to check on him eventually... I have to talk with Colt."
