"We have to get up now."
"Just five more minutes." Dave tightened his grip around my stomach. This man would do this every day, all day. I have finally grown into my stomach and he would want to lay up and kiss it all the time. I wouldn't mind at all but we have a doctors appointment and a class today and he's stopping us from going.
"We have to check on the baby."
"I know my son good. He just kicked." He kissed my stomach closing his eyes. I finally gave up laying back down in silence.
It's been 3 long amazing months. I was the happiest I've ever been in my life. The marriage life was incredible. Dave was showing a different and better side of himself. To think I get to spend the rest of my life with this man blows my mind.
After the wedding, we headed off to the honeymoon. Seychelles island was breathtaking. I couldn't describe the feeling. A week of silence and peace to ourselves on our own private island. If I wasn't pregnant then I for sure would've been after that trip.
Then when that was over our life's kinda went back the same. We found out that we are having a baby boy. I cried my eyes out that whole day. Kody was excited too but Konani was a different story. I know she doesn't know what's going on but I think she could feel it. She would try to hit my stomach all the time and it was terrible.
"Well, the silence was good while it lasted." I sighed removing Dave's hands.
"I'll get her."
"No, I got it." I stood up going into Konani's room. She wasn't crying just yelling. "What's the matter?"
At only 8 months she had quite the personality. Her face was red as she laid on my chest. I walked downstairs going into the kitchen. I put her in her chair, so I get us a snack.
"Decisions." I mumbled looking inside the fridge.
"Mmm." My head snapped into her direction. I rushed in front of her. "Mmm."
"DAVID!" It seemed like she wanted to say mama but couldn't get it out. He and Kody came down the stairs.
"Why are you yelling?"
"I think she's trying to say her first words. It's going to mama. Come on baby." I encouraged her.
His eyes got big. "For real?"
"Koko talk." Kody blandly said standing in front of her making her laugh trying to grab his face. Her eyes traveled all our faces as if she was thinking.
"Come on mamas say something."
"DA!" We all screamed in joy. Dave picked her throwing her in the air. I was a little salty because I know she wanted to say mama but she switched it up. It's okay, I can't be too mad at that.
"Why y'all yelling?" Koby walked in like he lived here.
"She's said her first word." He started cheering and the baby jumped.
"You're scaring my baby." I took the car seat from placing it on the counter and picking up my nephew. His name was Kane and was so precious.
"Koby, where are his socks and shoes?"
"When I tried to put them on he cried." He shrugged.
I shook my head. "Where's Tinashe?"
"She had a meeting with her label. I thought we could stop by and share some important news."
"What?"
"Hi, baby." I kissed his cheeks as he stared at me.
"I'm officially out the game."
I paused. "Stop lying."
"I'm deadass. I'm out. No more of this street shit for good."
"Aww, I'm so proud of you." I put Kane down going over to him hugging him the best I could. Tears filled my eyes leaning into his chest. This was something that I wanted for the longest but him being stubborn he wanted to do it when he was ready.
He pulled back wiping my eyes. "Stop crying man."
"I can't help it." I laughed lightly. "I'm just happy."
"That's big bro. Congratulations, I'm proud of you."
"You should've seen T. She's been waiting to hear those words for forever. You know at some point she left me. I never told anyone about it."
"Really?" He nodded. "That's crazy. So, what now?"
"I got a couple of things in store. Just be on the look." He rubbed his hands like Birdman.
"What time is it?"
"1:30."
"Shit! Dave, we need to go like now."

"Who all voted for this song?" I questioned with an amused look on my face. I was now at the studio with my evening class. The doctor's appointment was good and baby boy was healthy.
"They all did." Ximena pointed to the whole class. They frowned up and looked at her shaking their heads. "What? I picked Brown Skin Girl."
"That's a good choice. Maybe next class."
"Thank you." She smiled. Ximena and I have formed a good relationship. As you know I love, let me repeat that. I LOVE HELPING PEOPLE. When I found out that she and her mom were walking it broke my heart, especially because she was pregnant. So when Angela informed that they had a car but it was broken down. I offered to get it fixed and give them a few things for the baby. Of course, they didn't want me but who could say no to me? Even though the father was not in their life's, things were good for them. They even came to the wedding with a handsome baby boy named Alejandro.
"I have no problem dancing to it but y'all are petty." I told them as smiles appeared on their faces.
I clicked my teeth shaking my head at them. I came up with this idea that once a week the class would come up with a song for me or the class to dance to. They all chose In My Feelings by the great Aubrey.
"Let's start."
"Are you going to be okay dancing in those heels?" Brandon asked.
"Yes." I laughed.
He let out a deep breath. "Good, I don't want to have to call an ambulance for you."
The music started and danced along. I was very passionate and serious about dancing this was what I loved to do and nobody will ever steal my joy. I will keep pushing pregnant or not and kill every move.
"GO KIKI! GO KIKI!" They cheered.
The music stopped. "What the hell did I walk into?"
I was stuck in the position with my butt tooted up in the air still trying to twerk. I lifted my head seeing Dave and I couldn't help but laugh at his facial expression. He looked confused for real.
"Help me up." Once I was standing I noticed the bag of food in his hand. "I did good?"
He nodded. "I wasn't expecting to you to be twerking on the ground with your little audience cheering you on."
"Babe, that's what they're supposed to do. You didn't?" I gasped opening the bag.
"I did."
"Okay guys this class lasted longer than expected but I had an amazing time as always. I want to see familiar faces for my Friday class. Have a good one and I love y'all." I blow them a kiss sitting in the plush chair I had brought in a couple months ago.
"This is sooo good." I moaned dipping the crab leg inside the butter.
"We are supposed to share." He said sitting across from me. I slide the bag over to him.
"You are so good to me, husband."
"Damn right, wife."

3 Months Later
"Kardi, why are you crying?" She was sitting on the couch with Konani in her lap and Kody on the side of her.
"This is a sad movie." She cried eating some ice cream.
"You cry every time you watch this movie. I don't understand why you keep watching it."
"Nani wants to watch it. We love CoCo. Isn't that right?"
"Yes!" My princess yelled for no reason making me laugh. She was growing everyday fast. I didn't want her to. If I had a chance to stop it, I would.
"Kody looks fed up with the both of y'all."
"He'll be okay." She laughed. "Give me that."
She leaned over snatching the burrito from my hand. Now, before I went into the kitchen I asked if she wanted one. Her response was no and now she's eating mine.
"That's cold."
"Sorry." She stuffed her face. "Can you rub my feet?"
I nodded sitting on the opposite side of her bringing her leg to me.
"Yo feet look like little sausages." I laughed.

"Yo you trippin." I continued rubbing her feet. From the looks of it all, them were falling asleep. About 30 minutes past and I stopped and looked up. I smiled at the view. It was very much priceless. I stood up grabbing the burrito off her stomach, going into the kitchen to make another.
After finishing my food I went back into the living room grabbing the kids and putting them in bed. I picked up Kardi cutting off the tv and heading upstairs to our room.

"What's up y'all." I said once I walked out the door. They were already standing in the lobby section.
"How is she doing?"
"They want her to wait about 5 minutes before she gets in the water. Did you guys see my mom outside?"
"No." I shook my head. I texted her about an hour ago telling her about the baby coming. Kardi wanted her to be in the room along with her mom. I didn't mind at all if it's what Kardi wanted.
"You ready?" I asked Karla as she smiled nodding. "I'll give you guys updates but we need to get back in there. Here Karmen, take my keys and if she starts crying her bag is in the car with her food."
She nodded holding Konani. We walked back into the room. After ten minutes Kardi was in the water crying in pain while Karla pushed her hair out the way, rubbing her back. A knocked at the door knocked me out my thoughts. Nurse Elizabeth went to open it and my mom walked in looking flustered.
"Sorry, I'm late. My car wouldn't start." She said giving me a hug.
"As long as your here now." We weren't as close as we use to. We were still on the road to forgiveness. It will be a long ass road.
"I'm happy you made it."
"How are you feeling?"
"It hurts like really bad. I'm trying to keep it together."
"You came this far. You got it." I kissed her forehead then wiped her face off with a cool towel. She was a beast and she didn't even know it. She was doing this without any meds.
"Nice and slow for me mommy." The nurses coached her breathing. It was time for her to start pushing.
"Mama I can't." She squeezed mine and Karla's hand.
"Relax Kardi. Slow it down and take deep steady breaths."
She nodded closing her eyes. I noticed my mom coming closer to us. She kneeled down and began rubbing Kardi's head.
"You're doing great. You are strong honey, you got this. You're going to bring him into this world so peacefully. Can you do that?"
"Yes." She whispered and started pushing. My eyes started to sting a little as blinked a couple times. I cleared my throat looking down at the water and that was a mistake. I can see her crowning like the head was sticking out.
"He won't come out."
"You're doing good love. You have the strength, just a couple more pushes and our son will be here." More tears filled her eyes as she stared at me.
"AHHH!" She screamed.
"Doing good." The nurse reached down as he started to slip out.
"You got him?"
"Mommy grab your baby." Kardi caught once he was immediately out. She pulled him up to her chest crying.
"Congratulations mom and dad."
"You did it, baby."
"Is he okay?" He wasn't crying.
"Yes, it just takes a little time from the transition." Karla said. The nurse began lightly patting his back and he started crying. His cries filled the entire room. I bit on my bottom lip as tears rolled down my face. Just to hear those cries meant everything.
"We did it." She said looking up at me.
"You did it queen. I love you."
"I love you too."
We waited sometime before they asked me to cut the umbilical cord. They measured him and all that stuff. Kardi was now laying back down in the bed with him on her chest.
"What are you naming this little handsome man?"
"That's up to daddy." She motioned her head towards me.
"Karter."
She laughed tiredly. "Did you already have that planned?"
"Yes, you can choose the middle name."
"Karter Joesph Brewster." I smiled hearing her say my middle name. He weighed 8 pounds 12 ounces. We sat in silence staring at him. I felt nothing but happiness at the very moment.
