Jungkook was sitting in a small corner booth of the bar, just having a beer or two with his friends. They hoped that the weather would be nice once they got to London, but let's be real...it's London.
So there they were, five guys sitting on their own, all pushed into the booth while they scanned the people in the bar or pub or whatever the place was.
"It's a pity the Jin and Joon couldn't come, but they are lucky they missed this shit show." Jimin commented, nodding over to the small stage where a drunk guy was slurring the lyrics to some Spice girls song.
"I'm just waiting for Kook to go over there and grab that mic. Him or Tae, who's gonna go first?" Hoseok said and Yoongi nodded over at Tae.
"This one has no shame, he'll go as soon as he finishes his third beer. Kook on the other hand, he's too stuck up to sing here."
"Stuck up? Excuse me?! I just don't feel the need to sing in a bar full of people who don't give a shit about my singing." Jungkook argued and Yoongi shrugged his shoulders slightly and put his hand out as if stating the obvious.
"Like I said...too stuck up for it." Suga repeated.
"Fine I'll sing after Tae does." and as if on cue Taehyung jumps up and gulps down the rest of his beer "I'm gonna go sign up now." he said and Yoongi chuckled slightly.
"You coming Kook??" Tae smiled wickedly and Yoongi looked over at the youngest "Yea Kook...you going or nah?"
"Fine." Jungkook sighed and made his way to the bar where people were writing in their names to check with the DJ what he could sing.
As usual Taehyung chose Someone like you by Adele and Jungkook was left to sing something on his own.
James Bay...Us. Sure, he'll sing that.
He wrote in his name and the song he was singing on a sheet of paper and started to make his way back to his booth and wait for his turn.
"Hey..." he heard a voice call behind him and then a tap on his shoulder before he could go.
"Uhh hi...can I help you?" he asked and the girl in front of him smiled.
"Hi...my name is Y/N. I was just wondering if I could maybe sing this song with you...I saw that you wrote it down and I really like it but I wouldn't want it to repeat two times." she said shyly, her voice fading away slowly.
"Yea sure...it's karaoke anyways. Doesn't have to be perfect, right?"
"Right." she smiled slightly and Jungkook found something endearing about the way her eyes almost closed when that smile turned brighter.
"I'm Jungkook by the way..." he couldn't think of anything else to say, to get himself out of this trance.
"Well see ya soon Jungkook, hope you're a match for my skills!" she said and hopped off.
Cocky. Jungkook scoffed and turned back to head to his table.
"What was that about?" Jimin asked and Jungkook made a face.
"Just some girl wanting to sing a song with me. Says she hopes I'm a match for her skills."
"Oh this is gonna be entertaining then! I have a feeling like its gonna turn into a scream off eventually." Hoseok said and Jungkook nodded.
It was finally his turn and Taehyung finished his song with a cheeky grin cuz he forgot some of the lyrics.
All four of them tried to count the number of girls that swooned when he cutely turned red in shame. Too many to count, they concluded.
Jungkook got up and sat on the bar stool that was propped up on the stage and turned over to the girl from earlier to wave her over.
She took a swing from her beer bottle and ran over to the stage.
Jungkook prayed that he wasn't dealing with a drunk mess of a singer.
The song slowly started, Jungkook didn't try much, just sat down and slowly sang out lines as the girl in front of him swayed with the mic in hand.
When her verse came she brought the mic up to her lips and nothing came out for the crowd to hear, but Jungkook heard it.
He heard a nice voicee, a good tone so he hopped off of the chair and held out his mic in front of him letting her sing her lines.
"Above all the riots, above all the noise. Through all the worries..." she continued, before she put her hand up over Jungkooks over the mic.
"I still hear your voice." she smiled up at him continuing the song.
Jungkook's heart skipped a beat so hard that he almost missed his part.
She brought both hands up over his on her next part making warm prickles spread from his hands up towards his arms and spread through his chest.
"We used to be kids, living just for kicks." he was singing on autopilot, still in a daze.
"In cinema seats, learning how to kiss."
"Running through streets that were painted gold."
"We never believed we'd grow up like this..." and then she went into that pretty falsetto that made him weak in the knees for a second.
With her eyes closed, long lashes dropping over her cheeks as she sand and he just took in the image that was in front of him.
"Tell me how to be in this world, tell me how to breath in and feel no hurt..." he felt her grip on his hand tighten, but yet it was the most pleasurable touch he ever felt.
"Tell me now cause I believe in something. I believe in us!" he felt a meaning in her words especially when her eyes locked on his.
In a few seconds they brought it all to an end, too soon for Jungkook's liking.
Finally when his friends loud hollering brought him back out of his own little dream, he noticed that the two of you were less than a breath away.
Your head snapped over to the booth of guys cheering and you stepped back on instinct and brought a hand up to offer to Jungkook a handshake.
"Pleasure singing with you Jungkook, you have a gorgeous voice." she skipped off to her own friends as Jungkook looked after here.
"As if you don't..." he quietly said to himself as he made his way back to the booth.
"Shit dude, that was nice!" Taehyung cheerfully shouted and sidehugged Jungkook with one arm as he sat down.
"She's cute, did you ask for her name?" Hoseok said as he glanced back at the girl behind him.
She was in Jungkook's view since he was sitting across from Hoseok.
For the rest of the night Jungkook kept quiet mostly, his friends doing most of the talking.
He would steal glances every now and then untill you caught his stare once. And held it...and held it...and smiled.
He didn't even notice that his breath stopped by just one look from you.
Jungkook got up walked over to the bartender and ordered a drink for you, telling the bartender that it's on him.
He went back to his seat and waited, his own glass in hand. He waited for the moment when you turned around looked at him and raised your drink to him and he did the same to you, his friends just looking at him knowingly.
"Someone's got a crush." Jimin teased and Jungkook kicked him under the table.
"Shut up. She's pretty." the older male winced slightly while reaching under the table but kept laughing none the less.
"Then go get her number." Yoongi said and Jungkook sighed.
"You know I can't do that..." he looked at Yoongi and the older rubbed his eyes in annoyance.
"Such a fucking wuss." he sighed slightly disappointed.
"Well...at least I had that performance with her...that's enough for me."
Well seems like I'll keep this book going. Fml.
