Today was the day that the Royal Rumble finally arrived. Everyone from the fans, to the incredible talents of the company, were excited for this night. Ashley and I arrived to the arena shortly after we had our mini vacation for a couple of days.
We quickly got a workout finished at the gym and ate some lunch before we made it to the arena. However, nobody knew I was winning the match tonight besides Vince, and that meant I was keeping my championship for awhile longer than expected. We met with Ambrose and Renee for a moment before we all focused strictly on tonight.
It was only a couple of hours away from the Rumble as Ashley and I conversed with many of the other superstars and dressed into our attires. I had a feeling that Ashley might become the Divas Champion tonight while I'm winning the Royal Rumble. Wouldn't that be amazing? I couldn't wait to witness how the crowd would react to my victory. Whether it was cheers or boos, I was still grateful to receive a crowd reaction. A few minutes passed and I watched John Cena approach me with a smile.
"Hey!"
"Hey John. What's up?" I asked.
"Are you guys excited about tonight?"
"Of course! Good luck against Lesnar and Seth tonight."
"Thank you, Roman." He paused, "Um, I need to ask you something real quick before we get ready for tonight."
"Sure, man. What's up?"
"About your girlfriend. Why does Seth hate her so much? A couple of weeks ago, he pinned me against the wall wondering where you two were at. What was that all about?"
"To be honest with you, John, I don't know." I lied, "I assume he's jealous of me having a beautiful woman like her, perhaps."
"That's a possibility. I'll make sure to beat the crap out of him tonight for you and Ashley."
"I'd gladly appreciate it, John. Go out there and kick some ass for me, huh?"
I walked to the locker-room and leaned down, pouring water down my head and said a small prayer before the Rumble officially began. Ashley was with her friends until her match tonight. I focused and prepared for the biggest match of my career so far. I was uneasy, nervous, anxious even; and I didn't know how the crowd would react to me winning.
My cousins, Jimmy and Jey, came up to me while I was preparing in the locker-room and patted me on the back. "You got this, Uce." Jimmy said.
"Thanks guys. Wish me luck out there. I'm going to need it." I smiled.
The Pay-Per-View started and kicking off the show was The New Day vs Adam Rose, Cesaro and Tyson Kidd for an elimination match. I observed the match closely. After, the next match between the New Age Outlaws vs The Ascension happened. Then it was finally time for the Divas Championship match as I watched my girlfriend finally make her entrance against Charlotte Flair for the championship. Ashley took her down with a Running Knee and then started hitting her in the face, landing Clotheslines while following up with a Spear and pinned her for the Divas Championship.
"And the new WWE Divas Champion, Ashley Kay!" I watched her grab the title and looked at the camera with a smile that reached from ear-to-ear.
I couldn't resist and ran out to the ring and congratulate her in front of the WWE Universe. Not many people knew about our relationship together and I wanted to make it public.
The crowd gushed over our relationship as my lips began to press against hers. I pulled back and brought the microphone towards my mouth, "I'm so proud of you baby. You were incredible tonight, and these people in this arena and the ones sitting at home can say the same!" I said, hearing the crowd go insane for the both of us.
After Ashley's celebration, we both walked inside as everybody congratulated her. We then waited to see John beat up Seth and Brock. Their match begun as we had a look of disgust written all over our faces to seeing Seth's face on the television. Seth glanced towards the screen and smirked, knowing that we were watching him perform tonight. He was as arrogant as he looked.
Everyone made it into the ring and the match was underway. Seth ran out of the ring while John and Brock went at it. When Seth got inside the ring, Brock grabbed him up from behind and began Suplexing him onto the canvas as hard as he could while Ashley and I started laughing hysterically.
Seth was getting underneath Brock's skin while attempting to Curb Stomp him. Brock picked him up and threw him onto the ground while performing his signature move, the F5. John ran up to Brock and hit him with an Attitude Adjustment three times in a row while everyone was crucially exhausted in the middle of the ring.
Later in the match, John kept knocking Seth down. Furious, he ran out of the ring and grabbed his Money In The Bank briefcase. Seth pondered on cashing-in until John picked him up and threw him around like a ragdoll, watching the briefcase fly across the ring and sliding onto the ramp. J&J security ran out and tried to weaken John. But that wasn't enough to stop him. John picked both of them up and hit them with another Attitude Adjustment.
Ultimately, Brock had enough time to recover as he picked up John and Suplexed them onto the canvas while Seth grabbed his briefcase and hit him across the head. Brock stood up quickly and hit Seth with the F5 and got the pinfall.
While the match was somewhat of a bummer, It was time for me, along with the twenty-nine other superstars, to begin the Royal Rumble match.
"I know you'll win. Good luck babe." Ashley said, planting a kiss on my lips.
"Thank you, baby." I say, walking over towards the gorilla and waited for my entrance to start.
The first one to come out was The Miz and then R-Truth. I looked up at the screen and was preparing myself. Then Bubba Dudley come out and threw Miz to the ground.
I came out at number nineteen and came down the crowd as usual. I stepped into the ring as Goldust and his brother, Stardust, tried knocking me down and kicking me around. I stood up and started knocking everyone down as fast as possible. Ambrose came out at number twenty-five and knocked everyone down along with me.
Kane and Big Show threw everyone out of the ring and unfortunately, it was just Ambrose and I standing together. While it was every man for themself, we teamed together due to the fact we needed to eliminate the giants of the authority. However, my mouth was busted open and blood was pouring down my lips. Ambrose and I charged towards them and they caught us. Ambrose then hit Kane with a Clothesline and I knocked down Big Show. Kane was trying to eliminate the both of us at once and they failed.
Kane pulled Big Show back whilst attempting to eliminate me. This, getting into a heated argument, throwing punches and shoving each other like two children. That gave me the opportunity to eliminate them both at the same time. I grabbed them and threw the both of them over the top rope. I believed that I had won the Rumble already after Ambrose was eliminated. Shockingly, Kane and Big Show came back into the ring and began beating me down to the ground as the crowd erupted in boo's.
They both picked me up for the Double-Chokeslam and threw me down onto the canvas. Then I heard my cousin, The Rock, coming out to save me from their grasp. The crowd immediately popped upon hearing his theme. Rock started beating up both Kane and Big Show and I hit them with a Superman Punch.
Unfortunately, Rusev wasn't eliminated and he stepped into the ring. I went in for a Spear to his upper body as hard as I could; and then threw him out immediately. Then it happened. I finally won the Royal Rumble. The crowd heavily booed me; I've never been booed like that before, but I was still fortunate enough to get a crowd reaction while my cousin held my hand in the air and congratulated me for eliminating both Kane and Big Show.
"Roman Reigns is going to WrestleMania!" Lawler said.
I looked at the WrestleMania sign in front of me, leaving me on my knees with blood all over my mouth. I knew from there, I was main eventing WrestleMania.
After I won, Ashley ran out to me backstage and reeled me into her embrace.
"Aw, is this your girlfriend?" Rock asked.
"Yeah. If it wasn't for her, I wouldn't have gained the confidence to win tonight's match."
"I'm so proud of you!" Ashley said, praising me.
"Yeah, she's a keeper for sure!"
"I know she is." I moved the hair from my face as I warmly smiled at her.
"Roman, I'm going to go to my locker-room and hang out with the girls for awhile. I really need to get back into my normal clothes for the night. I'll see you later!" Ashley said.
While she left for awhile, I talked with my cousin for until an interviewer approached us. "Congratulations! What an incredible night. I mean, Roman, you won the Royal Rumble with The Rock on your side. How are you feeling? This is an incredible moment!"
"How do you think I'm feeling? How do you think he's feeling? It is an incredible moment. Yeah, it's an incredible moment for you; what's happening right now, this is what we call a Samoan Pancake. Everyone likes that; and even the boys over there are laughing. Women pay good money for this and you're getting this for free. So, smarten up and ask the better question." Rock said.
"How do you feel about WrestleMania?" The interviewer asked me.
"You're jumping way ahead of schedule right now, and I'm in the moment. First of all, I have to show appreciation. When you're down and out, the odds are against you. You're outnumbered, who can you count on? Blood. Blood running through these veins' family." I replied.
"It's family man; it's family first. Look, I came to Philadelphia because I wanted to watch my family compete in the Royal Rumble. I came to Philadelphia because WWE is my family. I wanted to watch the Rumble; I came to Philadelphia to the city for known for two kinds of cheeses, Cream and Steak!"
The interviewer began laughing at him.
"Take that stupid look off your face, I will slap it off." He said in a serious tone that made me laugh.
"The bottom line is this, my man went out there and did a hell of a job. Epicly, kicked some epic ass and I'm very proud of him."
"Now, to your ahead of schedule question. Right now, I'm gonna take a moment to heal. I'm busted up. I'm bleeding everywhere. I need to go see the trainer, and I need to heal up; and then I need to study on some tape. All that matters right now is WrestleMania. One goal. Walk out there still as WWE World Heavyweight Champion. And you can believe that."
"You can believe that? Let me tell you something-"
The interviewer started laughing again, allowing Rock to stare at him. "What are you laughing at? I will slap the lips off your face and make you kiss your own ass!"
I made hand gestures and started laughing while Rock was insulting the interviewer jokingly I had to get myself together quickly for the camera and remain in character.
After the interview, Rock went to do something and I went to check on Ashley. She was in her locker-room, sitting down and talking to Paige about her win against Charlotte and holding her championship against her shoulder. The both of us kept getting congratulated with every turn we made. It was an incredible night for the both of us and I couldn't be any more happier.
