Jareth's POV
Jareth sat completely alone by the Black Lake. He needed some time alone, and this was a perfect place.
Carter had, once again, cornered Jareth earlier. Jareth didn't think he'd done anything wrong.
Apparently, he was wrong.
He winced as he adjusted his position.
It hadn't been worse than usual; A bit better, even.
But it hurt; physically and emotionally.
Not to mention mentally.
He hadn't told anyone this, but the night before, he almost jumped from the Astronomy Tower. He just couldn't handle this anymore. So he almost did it.
But he didn't.
Because he knew he couldn't do that to James, Leona... or Sirius.
"Jareth!" He turned to see Leona bounding towards him, tears streaming down her cheeks. He immediately stood ran over to her, enveloping her in a hug, no matter how much it hurt to do so. "It's me," she cried. "I'm the descendant of Merlin."
