At the station, Fran Wollcraft came to the station and told the two officers that her son Percy and her husband Victor had an argument about Claire after she died in their garage. after Percy came back from work and then he ran away. Fran then cried to Marie and asked her to find her son. Marie then placed a kind hand on Fran's shoulder and said to her, "Don't worry Mrs. Wollcraft, we will find your son. You just sit down and relax and let my friend Ramirez take care of you."

After Fran was lead away by Ramirez, Jones looked at Marie and said, "We have to find Percy as soon as possible Marie! His disappearance most certainly has something to do with his girlfriend's death. Let's look at the museum first and see if Constance has an idea about where he went."

Soon, the two officers left the station and headed towards the museum. Once they got there, Marie started to look around until she found the employee's lockers and she remembered that Constance told them that their victim didn't have time to clean out hers before she got fired. Jones then looked in the distance and saw Constance walking around and he remembered that since Percy was under her supervision, she must know where he disappeared.

Before they could talk to Constance, Marie decided to look through Claire's locker. After rummaging through the locker's contents, Marie found a torn photograph, but she couldn't make out what was on it so she decided to bag it so she piece it back together at the station. Soon, Marie and Jones decided to talk to Constance and when they approached the woman, Jones asked her, "We're really sorry to bother you again Constance, but Percy Wollcraft ran away from home. Do you have any idea where he might be?"

"Why would I know? I mean, the poor boy just lost his girlfriend and his parents are a couple of freaks. So it's a marvel that he didn't choose to run away to begin with," Constance said in a smug tone.

Marie then protested to the woman, "Mrs. Bell, this isn't funny! His mother is devastated!"

"Really now? I thought Fran Wollcraft didn't even care about the kid. I talked to her a couple times since I studied German and she never once struck me as the sentimental type. Very well, if you must know, Percy is here and he's venting off in the staff room," Constance explained.

Curious, Jones asked, "Why are you hiding him?"

"Well why not? He's a hard working kid and he needed a place to hide from his parents. Plus, he never got sauce in one of my books. UNLIKE YOU DAVID JONES," Constance told the officers and screeched out the last part to Jones.

After they were done talking to Constance, Jones and Marie were heading to the staff room to talk to Percy. Jones then said, "Who knew that Constance Bell would be so compassionate? Anyway, we have to talk to Percy and have him go back to his mother as soon as possible."

Once they arrived at the door that leads to the staff room, Marie knocked on it and called out, "Percy? It's Captain Marie and Inspector Jones. Do you mind if we talk to you?"

After a few seconds of silence, the two officers decided to enter on their own accord. Once he saw them entering, Percy cried out, "What do you want? Just leave me alone!"

"We can't Percy, your mother's worried sick about you. You can at least call her and tell her you're all right," Jones said to the man sobbing before them.

Percy then wiped his eyes, stood up in anger and said, "I can't tell her cause they're crazy! In fact, we're all crazy! You saw what they did to Elphaba and what twisted vision of love my parents share! Claire told me that I had to help her denounce them and I tried too, but they're my parents and I can't betray them! There was one time that she gave me a few pages from my father's notes that were in German and when I translated them, I realized what they were really doing with Elphaba's corpse.

"My dad tried to convince me that it was only to help my mother, but it killed Claire; this freaking experiment killed her!" And then Percy leaned into Marie's shoulder and he started to sob while Marie patted his back and told him that it will be okay.

After they left Percy at the museum to calm down, Jones and Marie headed back to the station to look at the torn photograph. Once they got back, Marie pieced the photo back together and as soon as it was whole again both she and Jones looked closely at it. What the two officers saw in the photo was Victor Wollcraft's garage and it got the two officers wondering; why would Claire hide the photo in her locker and why would she even bother tearing it up? Soon, Marie and Jones started to add the photo to the research notes that they found in Claire's handbag and they realized that she must've been gathering evidence against Victor.

But to what end? Later on at the station, Jones and Marie were at their desks reviewing what they know so far. First, they have a picture of the Wollcraft's garage and Percy's confession on how both he and Claire tried to stop his parents. Marie then dug her fingers through her hair and thought, this is one messy affair! Just then, Jones suggested, "Maybe we should have another look at the cemetery Marie? Ivan may have been the one to discover Elphaba's corpse, but I want to know who it was that put it back there." And after she agreed the two officers left the station and headed back to the pet cemetery.

Once they got there, Marie started to look around the graves until she found a bloodstain on some tree bark and she carefully pulled the bark off. As she looked at it closely, Marie saw that the blood was almost dried out, but quite large. After Marie bagged the bark so she can collect a sample off of it, Jones noticed Ivan in the distance and suggested that they talk to him and see if he knows about Fran Wollcraft digging up corpses. As soon as they approached Ivan, Marie said to the gravedigger, "Tell us something Ivan, how close were you with Mrs. Wollcraft? Cause as you can see, she dug up her own dog in your cemetery and you did tell us that you see everything that happens here."

"Well of course I knew that she'd dig up her dog. Did I want to protect her by not saying anything? I guess I did, I mean, Franny is that special kind of woman. We used to talk about engineering theories together, since I studied engineering in college. But then she became obsessed with this whole nonsense about reanimation, but I didn't think much of it. However, after I found that poor dog's body all stitched up, I realized what they were really trying to do.

"They were going too far and for Franny's sake, it all had to stop. I didn't think twice and brought the corpse to you immediately, but I did keep something from you. I found this Polaroid camera underneath the corpse. Maybe the person who dumped Elphaba's body here is the same person who killed your victim. I think it'll be more useful in your hands," Ivan explained and handed them the camera he found.

After they thanked Ivan for his help, Jones and Marie headed back to the station to examine the clues they got. Once they returned, Marie decided to check the tree bark first and after she collected a blood sample from it she sent it to Grace to be examined. After the blood sample was given to Grace, Marie took out the camera that Ivan gave them and Jones said, "I had no idea Ivan wanted to protect Fran. I'd like to think she would've knocked him out with his own shovel if he showed his face."

"Anyway, let's look at the camera Ivan found underneath Elphaba's body. It may be an old device so there's no memory card inside, but maybe it still can be some help to us. Look closely at it David, there's something written on it and I think I can decipher it," Marie explained and showed it to Jones.

As soon as Marie brushed her powder over the camera, the writing appeared on it and it said, 'Property of Claire Godwin. After they read the inscription on the camera, Marie sent the camera over to Alex to see if he extract any data from it. Meanwhile, Margaret Littlewood was walking Astrid when the small dog stopped to sniff at Alfred's hot dog stand. Margaret then smiled at the little dog and said, "No no darling. You have any snacks for awhile cause I need you to keep a healthy weight for the dog pageant next week."

As the little dog whimpered in sadness and started to walk again, Margaret looked ahead and saw Molly Robinson approaching with her Pomeranian Poochikin. Margaret then smiled at Molly and said to her, "Well hello there Molly dear. Are you prepared for next week too?"

"Don't be so silly Margaret, me and my Poochikin are always prepared. I just wish my Lily would come and watch, but she's serving prison time for killing that poor boy who wanted to travel out of town. I bet your grandkids might come this year won't they Margaret? You haven't seen them in like 10 years right?" Molly mentioned.

After hearing that, Margaret got a little depressed and after she saw her face Molly then chuckled and said, "Well, even if they don't come, I can say that my Poochkin will be the Best in Show and maybe fat Astrid will be the runner-up."

As soon as Molly left, a dark thought came into Margaret's mind and she looked down at Astrid and thought, I'll show them who will be the Best in Show. After a while, Jones and Marie's clues were done and the first one they checked was the blood sample. Once they were in front of Grace, Marie asked her what she found out and Grace said to them, "I analyzed the blood you found in that tree bark back in the cemetery and I can tell you that it doesn't come from a human being! In fact, I compared it with the blood from that poor little dog that you found and it's a perfect match! Whoever the person was who brought that dog back to the cemetery must've hit the tree while they were carrying it.

"So I took a better look at the corpse and I noticed that some of the stitches on the head are gone. The blood must've come from there while the killer carried her in their arms. So, I tried calculating the height of this person, taking into account that they were carrying a corpse against their torso, and I found out that your killer must be six feet tall!"

After they found out that the killer was six feet from Grace, Jones and Marie headed to the tech lab to hear about the camera from Alex. Once they were in front of him, Jones asked, "So Alex, did you find anything interesting inside Claire's camera?"

"Well, if you've already noticed, this is a camera that gives you a picture automatically; so there's no data inside. But you're really lucky cause the device malfunctioned and the last photograph got stuck inside it. I developed it and half of it is obscured by a hand, like it was taken during a struggle so it it must be your killer! It's a really shaky close-up of an eye with no other recognizable element. Claire must've had the killer's presence in mind while trying to take a picture of her aggressor. So, I can tell you that the killer has brown eyes," Alex explained to the two officers.

Once Marie got the last attribute from Alex, she got the suspect files and her notes ready so she can put Claire's killer behind bars. The first person Marie looked at was Constance Bell, but then she excluded her cause even though she spoke German and she has brown eyes, she didn't match the other attributes. Marie also excluded Ivan Imlay cause even though he knows engineering, he has burns on his skin and he has brown eyes, he doesn't speak German and he's not six feet tall. Marie then looked at Victor Wollcraft's file and saw that he has brown eyes, he knows engineering, he has black hair, he has burns on his skin and he speaks German, but he was an inch shorter than six feet so she excluded him.

Marie also looked at Fran Wollcraft's file and saw she knows engineering, she speaks German and she has burns on her skin, but she was a few inches taller than six feet and she has blue eyes not brown so Marie excluded her. The final person Marie looked at was Percy Wollcraft and the female officer saw that he matched everything; he knows engineering, he speaks German, he's six feet tall, he has brown eyes and he has burns on his skin. After she showed her findings to Jones, they set off to arrest Percy Wollcraft.

As soon as they arrived at the Wollcraft's garage, Jones looked at the man and asked, "I must admit Percy, out of all the people in this case, you were the one that I least suspected. Why the hell did you kill Claire?!"

Percy started to cry and explained, "I didn't mean to! I mean, I got carried away and the whole situation was a complete mess! I went back to the house cause I forgot my lunch and she was there!

The previous day:

Percy entered the garage through the man door and saw Claire tasking pictures around his father's lab. Curious about what she was doing Percy asked, "Claire, what are you doing here? Why are you going around and taking pictures of my dad's lab?"

"I'm doing what should've been done weeks ago Percy! I'm gonna expose all this madness to the police and your crazy family is going down," Claire said in anger.

Percy then placed his hands on Claire's shoulders and looked her in the eyes and said, "Baby, what are you talking about? We're gonna bring my father to reason and then there will be no more experiments. Isn't that what you wanted?"

Claire then struggled Percy's hands off of her and angrily said to her soon to be ex, "It's not just your dad Percy, your mom helps him too. He'll, I'm pretty sure it was her idea in the first place! And besides that Percy, the bones that are missing from the museum, where are they?! Tell me!"

Percy then placed his hands up in defense and said to the girl, "Claire, please calm down! You don't really want to hurt us do you? You and I, we just want to reason with my dad so you don't really hurt us!"

Claire then clenched her teeth and spat out in anger, "I'm gonna tell everyone in town what kind of sick, mad people you  all are and they're gonna stop you and destroy you! Because that's all you people deserve and you can't stop me!"

Just as she was about to leave, Percy grabbed her from behind and while she was struggling and shouting for Percy to let her go, the man shouted, "No Claire! I can't let you do that! I won't let you do that!"

Percy then looked at the officer's and explained, "So I stopped her from leaving and I knocked her out, pulled her onto the table and I put the power on. She didn't deserve to die, but I couldn't let her leave like that; I just couldn't. But I couldn't take off of the machine, so I took everything I could get my hands on; Claire's camera and Elphaba and I dumped them in the cemetery. I just didn't want to get my parents into more trouble than they already are. If it weren't for that damn blackout, then you never would've known!" And as he started to cry, Marie went behind Percy, placed his hands behind his back and cuffed him.

The following day in the courtroom, Judge Hall looked down at the young man and told him that he's standing there accused of the murder of Claire Godwin and asked if he has anything to say in his defense. Just then Fran stood up and cried out, "My baby did nothing wrong! He did it to protect his family like any loving son would! Be strong my Percy!"

Percy then looked at his mother with tear filled eyes and cried out, "I'm sorry mommy! I didn't want to put you in any trouble! I'm so sorry!"

Victor then stood up, walked towards his son, placed a strong hand on his shoulder and said, "You didn't put us in any trouble son. While I may disapprove of your actions, I know they came from a good place in your heart. I'm really proud of you."

Judge Hall then banged her gavel and shouted to the Wollcrafts, "Silence in the court! I'm not finished with the two of you and we'll talk about your offenses later!"

The judge then looked at Percy after his father went back to his seat and told him, "Percy Wollcraft, you killed this poor woman in cold blood while she was trying to report a criminal endeavor. And the only guilt that you show is towards your parents!"

Percy then slammed his hands on the podium in front of him and shouted, "She wanted to destroy us! She wanted to destroy my family and I would kill her a hundred times more if I had to!"

Judge Hall then condemned Percy to 30 years in prison for Claire Godwin's murder without a possibility for parole and with a bang of her gavel, count was dismissed. Outside the courthouse, Jones and Marie watched the Wollcrafts hugging their son goodbye before he was placed in a patrol car and it drove off towards the prison. Jones then sighed deeply, looked at Marie and said, "And there you have it Marie. Claire fell victim to the most dysfunctional family in all of Grimsborough. And I thought my folks were messed up."

"She was only doing what was right for her and she got killed fir it. But then, I wonder if Percy ended up any different. When resurrecting a dead dog is the biggest proof of love your parents could give to each other, how are you supposed to turn out okay? Marie explained as they were heading back to the station.

On their way there, Marie looked at Jones and asked him, "You mentioned that your parents were a bit messed up like the Wollcrafts. What happened to them?"

Jones then scratched the back of his head and thought if he could tell her the story, but since he heard about what happened to her parents, then maybe she can learn about him. Jones then took a deep breath and told his partner/lover/girlfriend, "Well, when I was a kid, I was kind of like you growing up; I didn't gave the nicest of childhoods. There were actually four of us, myself included, as well my mother, my father and a sister who was two years older than me. Before I came to Grimsborough, I lived in a bad part of Houston where never even thinks of taking a holiday. Both my parents had respected jobs, but one day they thought the work was too much of a hassle and just like that they quit. My sister and I kept on going to school like always, but as for our parents..."

Jones paused midway and he began to feel a bit nervous about telling Marie the next part. Marie took Jones' hand kindly and said to him in a soft voice, "It okay David. Just let it out."

Jones then took a deep breath and continued, "While we were in school, our parents made an illegal still in our basement. Sometimes, my mother would drive hours and hours to find a casino to gamble in since gambling is illegal in Texas. Sometimes she would come home lucky and other times she would come back flat broke. My father was also messed up cause sometimes when we were home, he would go out and drink until the witching hour and then he would come home, wake us up and demand either one of us to get him more alcohol even though the stores are closed and the crime is higher at night. And then, there was the yelling, mom and dad always yelled at each other and we heard it through the walls that were paper thin.

"Sometimes, my sister and I would stay in each other's rooms just to keep each other company while the yelling continued. One day, the two of us got super sick in school and teacher's sent us to the hospital to be checked. It turns out, the fumes from our parents' homemade still began to mess with our immune systems. The doctors notified the police and my parents were arrested on counts of child endangerment, obsessive drinking and gambling and creating an illegal still in the basement. A restraining order was placed on my parents to keep away from both my sister and me and the two of us lived with our grandfather here in Grimsborough.

"As the years flew by, I started my sophomore year in high school and my sister graduated with high honors in her senior year. She decided to go to Vancouver and study to become a teacher. A couple years later, I also graduated and I studied to become a police officer. My sister and I still like to keep in contact with one another and as soon as I got my degree in criminology, my sister also got her degree in education. A couple years later, my sister got married and then nine months later my nephew was born."

"What happened to your parents afterwards?" Marie asked curiously.

Jones then said to her, "My mother got cancer and died in prison one night and my father was released on good behavior, but then he drove his pickup to a far off field in Texas, pulled out a .38 caliber and blew his brains out. A farmer found him a few days later when some people started to complain about a truck sitting in the middle of a farm zone and it was starting to stink up the air. What they did wasn't right cause not only did they put themselves in danger, but the two of us in danger too. I decided to become a police officer to make sure no one would get hurt or suffer like me and my sister did."

After Jones told his story, he started to walk ahead when he felt Marie's arms hug him from behind and he felt her tears fall on the back of his shirt. She then said in a quiet voice that was loud enough for him to hear, "I will take care of you too." And then Jones turned around, took Marie's face in his hands and kissed her lips and then he pulled away and whispered thank you to her.

(AN: One emotional roller coaster after the next am I right people?😭😢😔)

After Jones and Marie got back to the station, they headed for the chief's office. As soon as they got there, King smiled at Marie and said, "Thank you so much for your hard work Captain Marie! This whole investigation would've gone to the dog's if it weren't for you! Which reminds me, I just got a call from the pet cemetery's manager Ivan Imlay. He says the cemetery has been vandalized and I need you to go and check up on this. And then you have to stop by the museum cause Mrs. Bell expressly requested for your help there. She was really vehement about..."

Jones then protested, "That's impossible! Constance doesn't even recognize me as a functioning adult! Why would she want us to help her?!"

"Actually Jones, Mrs. Bell only mentioned Marie's name, but I think I also heard her mumble something about ketchup. Anyway, you both should get to work," the chief said to the two officers and they saluted and left the office to go and do their jobs.

As Jones and Marie were getting ready to go, Alex approached Marie and he said to her, "Hey Marie, I've been thinking about Victor Wollcraft and his crazy machine and I'm worried that he might've built another dangerous device in his lab. Also, I am super curious to see what other kind if invention he's built; I have to admit it! Still, I think it'll be safer if I paid him a little visit. Would you like to join me when I do that?"

Marie smiled and said, "Of course Alex. And after you and I are done with Victor, I can join Jones and do the other jobs we're assigned to."

After they left the station, Marie and Alex headed towards the Wollcraft residence while Jones headed towards the pet cemetery. Once Alex and Marie arrived at the Wollcraft residence, Victor saw them entering the garage and he looked at Marie and asked, "To what do I owe the displeasure of having you inspect my home again Captain?"

Alex then stepped forward and said to the scientist, "Well, I'd like to take a look at your machines since I'm the one who analyzed the one that my friend Marie here took from your garage."

Victor then scoffed at Alex's words and said, "As of you could understand how my inventions work by yourself young man!"

Alex then squinted his eyes at Victor and told him, "Well since I like to invent my own machines during my free time, I think that I'm more than capable..."

"Oh please! As if your petty little robots could compare themselves to my stupendous inventions! You're welcome to come in and look and you can observe my machines as long as you want. But I highly doubt that you'll understand them anyway," Victor told Alex in a boasting voice.

After Victor left the garage laughing his head off, Alex looked at Marie and said to her while punching his fist into the palm of his hand, "Alright Marie, let's show this pretentious prick what we're made of! With you by my side, I'm sure we can discover whatever it is he's working on in here!" And after they slapped each other a high-five, both Alex and Marie started to look around the garage.

After they looked around for a while, Marie came across a weird looking machine and she showed it to Alex. Once Alex saw it, Marie asked, "Do you have any idea on what it is Alex?"

"I don't know what this machine is exactly, but I've never seen anything like this before. However, judging by the little screen on it, I know how to activate it. We need a password to crack it and I don't think it'll be a problem for you Marie," Alex said and Marie agreed to crack the code on the machine.

Soon, Marie found the right code and the machine started as soon as the red light turned on. After the machine turned on, Alex looked at it closely and said, "I'm gonna have to run a few tests on this thing in my lab; just to make see what it does." And Marie agreed to let him go back to the station while Marie head towards the pet cemetery to meet Jones.

After Marie arrived at the cemetery and met up with Jones, the two officers approached Ivan and once he saw them, he said, "I'm so glad that I called you here Captain Marie! My cemetery has been vandalized! I was doing my daily routine by taking care of the graves as usual, when I noticed about two or three young men at the gates. I didn't pay them much attention and I thought they were here to mourn a pet. But that's when I heard a big noise and just as I looked towards the entrance, the cemetery's sculpture and the vandals have vanished! I think they probably destroyed it!

"And now I can't find the sculpture and I looked all over the cemetery, but I just couldn't find it. Please Miss Marie, can you help me look for it too?"

Marie nodded and told Ivan that she will help find it and Jones agreed to help out too. As soon as they started to look around, Marie found a pile of marble chucks that could be the statue that the juvenile offenders broke. Not wanting to give it back to Ivan as it was, Marie started to repair until it was whole again. Once the sculpture was repaired, Marie showed it to Ivan and to,d him that the cemetery can go back to its usual routine.

Surprised and happy that the sculpture was repaired, Ivan looked at Marie, thanked her and said, "After all, what would Ellington Pet Cemetery be without Ellington himself? William Cooper's dog was the main reason this cemetery, and later on the dog pageant, were created. And given the people's obsession with the dog pageant in this district, I don't think they would take the destruction of this symbol too well. With that being said, I must ask Miss Marie, do you plan on going to the dog pageant in your uniform?

"I think you need something less common to impress the citizens of the city."

Getting confused, Ivan lead Marie away from Jones and then a few minutes later she came back wearing a skeleton outfit and wearing skeleton makeup on her face. Jones placed a hand over his mouth to shield his laughter while Marie looked down in embarrassment and said, "This is even worse than Father Von Pratt's choir outfits."

Jones then said, "At least you don't have to sing during the dog pageant partner!" And then Jones started to crack up so hard that he fell to the ground and Marie slapped her hand against her forehead and thought, why me?

Canada then appeared behind her and said with a smile, "I think he only laughs at you cause he loves you too much."

Marie then said in her mind, 'But does he really have to laugh when I wear something embarrassing? And I thought the jester outfit Alden made me wear was bad!'

Just then Eddie appeared behind Jones and said, "Your darling has good taste in fashion Davey-boy!"

Jones then smiled to himself and said in his mind, 'She may be embarrassed about it, but that's what makes her so damn adorable.'

After they were done with Ivan, Marie and Jones headed to the museum to see what Constance Bell wanted. As soon as they got there, Constance saw Marie approaching and she said to the female officer, "Thank you for coming so quickly Marie dear. I'm facing a big issue here at the museum!"

"What's going on Mrs. Bell? Are you alright? Did someone die again?" Jones asked in a worried tone.

Constance then made a smug face and said, "No, nobody's dead! There's no need to be so overdramatic David Jones! Why would there always be a murder? My problem is, if I dare say, less human. You see, I was checking everything in the museum after its closing time. When I noticed some weird prints on the ground and they look like animal prints! Can you even imagine it? It must mean an animal has profaned this sacred place of culture and knowledge! But I can't fathom on how it happened cause I never let an animal entered the museum grounds. Marie dear, you must take a look at those prints and identify that animal!"

As soon as Marie started to look around, she found the prints Constance was talking about. Once she looked at them carefully, Marie saw that they looked like bird's claws, but she wasn't too sure. Suddenly, Marie saw an electronic display showing different animal prints from almost any animal and she thought if she can use that database, then maybe they can find their culprit's species.

Once Marie started to check the prints of different animal species, she found the right match and she saw that the culprit was actually a dodo bird. Confused, Marie thought that dodos were extinct and she began to wonder why a dodo's prints were in the museum. Thinking that Constance won't believe her, Marie decided to go and tell the woman anyway.

(AN: Here's a picture of a dodo bird for you guys😉)

After Marie told Jones what she found out, the two officers approached Constance and Marie told the woman, "Mrs. Bell, those prints actually belong to a dodo."

Surprised and shocked by what the female officer told her, Constance said, "A dodo?! Come on Marie dear, dodos have been extinct for centuries. I know I can expect this kind of absurdity from Jones, but coming from you is really disappointing."

Jones was about to ask what she meant by absurd, but he soon forgot it and then he told the woman, "We know this is hard to believe, but those prints really do belong to a dodo. Marie can't be wrong about this."

Constance then remembered that there was a dodo reproduction in the exhibit and she went away for a little bit to check on it. After she came back, Constance shouted in a frazzled voice, "THOSE RUFFIANS! Someone put ink on the dodo's paws! I bet they created those prints for the fun of it!"

She then glared at Jones and asked him if he had anything to do with the dodo absurdities. Jones then protested to her that he didn't and Marie can testify. He then suggested, "I bet the person who made those prints just wanted to have a little fun. Maybe you should organize a game with animal prints for the children who come to the..."

"So more of those noisy youngsters would come and destroy the place?! OVER MY DEAD BODY! They already make enough damage to this place! Stop spouting nonsense David Jones, just like when you were a brat, children are nothing but trouble," Constance spewed out, but what she didn't know was a group of preschoolers who came to the museum for a field trip heard what she said as soon as they entered the museum and they started crying.

Constance looked behind her and saw the children crying and the teachers were trying to calm them down. One of the female teachers glared at Constance and said to her, "That was a really mean thing to say. Especially in front of children. Don't you have any self respect at all?"

Constance started to get confused about what she should do to calm them down, until Marie stepped forward and clapped her hands to get their attention. As soon as the children heard her, Marie said, "Hey everyone! I know something really fun that Mrs. Bell can do to say she's sorry for being mean. If you look on the floor by my partner, you can see some tracks that belong to an extinct bird called a dodo."

After Marie said the bird's name, the children started to laugh. The female officer smiled when she saw that the children had stopped crying. Just then Jones stepped up to help out and he said, "I'll bet there are other animal prints that can be discovered. Maybe Mrs. Bell can organize an animal print game for you all." And the children started to cheer and the two officers looked at Constance and asked if she can do it.

Constance then sighed in defeat when she realized what she must do. She then to,d the children to explore around the museum for a while and then they'll play the animal print game in a few hours. The children all agreed and soon they left with their teachers to explore the museum. After they were gone, Constance looked at Marie and thanked her for her help on behalf of the museum. After they were done with Constance, Jones and Marie walked out of the museum and Jones breathed a sigh of relief and said, "I know I was trouble when I was a kid, but that doesn't mean all children are bad. That Constance just needs to cool it sometimes."

Marie then got an idea and said to Jones, "Hey Jones, after I'm done with Victor, want to come and have dinner with me and the family?"

Jones smiled and told her that he would love to and then the two officers headed back to the station so Marie can meet up with Alex. As soon as Marie entered the tech lab, she approached Alex and asked, "So Alex, what did you find out?"

Alex then looked at Marie and told her, "I just found out what Victor's machine does! It's totally harmless, which is a good thing, but it was also unfinished. So I had to complete its structure myself to make it function. Anyway, you can call me the High Tech King because thanks to my knowledge in engineering and programming, I can tell you that this machine has been to designed to make burgers!"

Shocked by what she heard, Marie exclaimed, "You mean I got worried for nothing over a burger flipper that can be found in any McDonald's?!"

"I'm not kidding you girl, this machine is impressive! It's actually a piece of art and I should know, I fixed it up myself! Come on, we have to tell Victor about this," Alex explained and gathered the machine up in his arms and headed out of the tech lab with Marie following.

As soon as the two of the, returned to the Wollcraft residence, Alex set the machine down in the garage just as Victor entered it. Once he saw the machine, Victor said to the tech guy, "So, what did you do to my machine? I hope you didn't damage it in vain just so you can comprehend my genius. I spent a lot if time working in this one!"

Alex just waved at the man and told him, "You can relax Mr. Wollcraft, your burger maker is intact. I even finished it for you actually! It's a very nice machine, but finding good parts for it was a real challenge!"

Surprised by what he heard Alex said, Victor started to check it and ask what kind of rotors Alex used cause those were the only missing parts. Curious, Marie asked Victor, "Why did you make a burger machine this time Mr. Wollcraft?"

"Everyone in this town seems to be attracted to burgers for some reason. I have an idea! Why I test it out now and see if it'll work," Victor said and soon he started to put some ingredients inside the machine, then he pressed some buttons and while he was doing that both Victor and Alex started to discuss some technical stuff while Marie found the nearest magazine and read it while she waited.

After a long technical discussion, Victor looked over to Marie and said, "I'm really glad that you visited Marie cause I already knew you were good, but now I'm starting to think that your team is full of geniuses! But as pleasurable as it is talking to people who are right-minded, I'm afraid I must leave cause Percy is in jail and Fran is sadder than ever."

Happy she could be of service, Marie was about to leave, but before she could Victor gave her a few burgers from his machine and Marie thanked him for them. As soon as Marie was done with her jobs, she decided to head home and make dinner. A while later, Jones joined her and the Greens and as they sat around the table, Jones said, "I'd like to thank you all for having me over tonight."

"It's our pleasure Inspector. We're happy just to be in your company," Scott said and then he thought, even though you proposed to Marie without telling us first you ass!

Paul then looked at Marie and said, "I understand that the dig pageant is next week. Me and the boys can't wait to see it cause even before Pop became manipulative and ruthless, he he would always take me to see the dogs. Afterwards, I would always ask if I could have a dog, but unfortunately I never got one and Pop's guard dogs were only for his work."

Scott started to poke around at his dish and said, "Before Oliver was even born, I always wanted a furry friend that I can run around the yard with and throw around a ball so they can bring it back."

"When I was a kid, my grandfather had this big, beautiful Bernese Mountain Dog and he just love to play around," Jones said.

Marie then told the boys that they should stop mentioning dogs and focus on the food before it got cold. Once Jones took a bite, his eyes went wide and he looked to Marie and said, "This macaroni and cheese dish us great Marie. I wish Carol was here to try it. She loves macaroni and cheese."

"Who's Carol?" Paul asked curiously and Jones told him that Carol is his sister who lives in Vancouver.

Marie then smiled to herself and thought, I'm glad everyone is getting along just fine. And, I also can't wait to see the dog pageant next week. Little did Marie know, that the dog pageant will become a tragedy.
