"What?"

"I need to ask your permission for something." Riley said after she smiled at Amzie and Maya.

"Whatever you want."

"Aw. Ever since we were little kids, you two would always say whatever you want even before you knew what it was." Riley said.

"You got a good thing going here, kid. Don't blow it." Amzie said.

"Maya, Amzie, you don't know what you're getting yourselves into. Maya, remember when I first asked you if you wanted to be friends?" Riley asked.

"Did I take it on? Am I still here?" Maya asked.

"You can't just say yes this time. This one's different." Riley said.

"Whatever you want."

"I wanna completely redo—" Riley started.

"—your hair!"

"You wanna change my hair?" Riley asked as she touched her hair.

"I think you could try something once." Maya said with a shrug.

"I don't wanna change my hair." Riley said.

"I gotta look at that every day." Maya sighed as she gestured at Riley's hair.

"You change your hair." Riley said.

"Stop being ridiculous."

"I wanna completely redo—" Riley started.

"—the way you dress!" Amzie said.

"You two don't like me at all, do you?" Riley asked.

"You're our favorite person in the world. We wouldn't change a thing about you." Amzie said as Maya nodded.

"I wanna tear down the bay window." Riley said.

"You shut your face." The blondes chorused as they pointed at her.

"It's time."

"What's the matter with you?" Amzie asked.

"We're changing."

"We're not."

"Amzie, Maya, the most important things in our lives are changing. The bay window is one of the most important things in our lives. It's changing with us. It's time." Riley said.

"Riley, look at me. Some things mean too much to us to ever change. I don't want this place to ever change. Maya doesn't either. Look at me and tell me you understand that." Amzie said.

"Guys, it's time."

"No. You don't have our permission for this. This place has always been my sanctuary from the storm." Maya said.

"Amzie, Maya, we're doing it." Riley said.

"It never mattered what was going on outside these windows. When I sit here with you two, I'm safe. We're not changing that." Maya said.

"You looking forward to high school?" Riley asked.

"We still don't know that's gonna happen!" Maya said.

"Maya, it's gonna happen. You both stink at change and I wanna hit the ground running from the very first day." Riley said.

"We stink at change? Remember when you were afraid that Lucas was changing? You said change fills my pockets with pennies of uncertainty. You stink at change." Amzie said.

"Yes, but I changed. Guys, it's a natural part of growing up. We're changing whether you like it or not." Riley said.

"—not, okay? You know what's natural? The way the sun comes in through these windows and the pillows are warm when you put your head on them or how the moon glows off of the curtain and we don't care that it's the middle of the night because we're here, we're safe, and we're protected." Amzie said.

"We're doing it."

"—or how Farkle comes in through the window all our lives and says ladies! I don't want that to ever change." Amzie said.

"Hey."

"Why do things change, Farkle?" Maya asked.

"Because things grow. Did you know that every seven years, your body grows a whole new set of cells? Every seven years, it's like you're a whole new person." Farkle said.

"Mr. Norton taught us that in science." Riley said.

"Yeah? Well, I'm exactly the same as I was when I was seven and I'll be exactly the same when I'm—do it." Amzie said after she looked at Farkle.

"—twenty one. The difference between you at seven and now is that at seven, you just met me and now you learned to use me." Farkle said.

"I know a good thing when I see it. You've been growing ever since we met." Amzie said.

"Yeah. Farkle, I hope we can say that you've grown into a handsome young man without embarrassing you." Riley said.

"No, you can't."

"Look at him, Riles. Remember the little boy he was? Remember the first day we met him?" Maya asked.

"Do I remember? He saved my life, guys. He saved my life twice and you two didn't even save it once." Riley said.

"You have to wift your head, Wiwey." Amzie said.

"Lift your head, Riley." Maya said.

"You have to lift your head. Lift your head." Amzie said.

"Ladies! What's the matter with her?" Farkle asked after he walked over.

"All you have to do is lift your head." Amzie said.

"Why do people like this game? They say come up when you get an apple, but what if you don't get an apple? What are you supposed to do?" Riley asked after Farkle pulled her out of the water.

"You're supposed to lift your head." Maya and Amzie chorused.

"You saved my life. How can I repay you? I know! Apples!" Riley said before she dunk her head back into the bucket.

"She a lotta work." Maya sighed before Farkle pulled Riley out of the water again.

"I am not a smart person." Riley said.

"That's why the three of you can use a friend like me." Farkle said.

"Why?"

"Because I promise to love you all the same." Farkle said.

"—but what if you love one of us more? What if you marry one of us?" Riley asked.

"All the same."

"What's your name?" Amzie asked.

"If I tell you, don't laugh." Farkle said.

"We would never."

"Farkle."

"I wanna laugh, but I promised!" Riley said as Amzie and Maya laughed.

"What's your last name?" Amzie asked.

"I don't wanna tell ya." Farkle said.

"Why does Dracula wear turtlenecks?" Maya asked.

"Because I'm scared of vampires. They bite your neck." Farkle said.

"—but you're a vampire!" Amzie said.

"My mind is very fancy. Feel free to use me as you see fit." Farkle said.

"I always have." Maya said.

"Your costume was a bag." Farkle said as he looked at her.

"I couldn't afford a costume. I was a different bag every year." Maya said.

"Look how much Farkle's changed. It's nothing to be afraid of. We're changing the bay window." Riley said.

"Why can't you just change your hair?" Farkle asked.

"You're changing the bay window?" Lucas asked as he crawled in.

"Look what you did. You made Hee Haw show up out of nowhere." Amzie said.

"Lucas, how does this affect you? You didn't grow up with us." Riley said.

"Yeah, I didn't have to. I know this place has a lot of meaning to you. That makes it a special place to me because you're all special to me in whatever way you'll eventually tell me." Lucas said.

"High school's coming up. We're changing. Look around, guys. This is a a little girl's window. It needs to change with us." Riley said.

"Hey, Huckleberry. It might've been okay to have known you as long as we've known Farkle." Amzie said.

"Yeah, being friends with you guys has changed me in the best possible ways. I wish I could've always had that." Lucas said.

"We could do it. I say we've known you since you were a little kid." Riley said.

"Well, how do you do that?" Lucas asked.

"—a musical number."

"No!"

"In the town of old Austin in Texas!" Riley sang.

"Why?"

"—lived Bucky McBoing Boing, Huh Hurr!" Maya sang.

"Will you please be kind?" Lucas asked.

"Huh hurr, huh hurr, you talk like that for sure!" Amzie sang.

"I am dreaming of a hero!" Riley sang.

"Riley, have some dignity, woman." Amzie said.

"—who will treat me like a princess!" Riley sang.

"Like me!" Farkle sang.

"Not you!"

"Okay!"

"He'll be my handsome prince and I'll love him!" Riley said.

"Like a brother!"

"No, the other!" Farkle sang.

"Farkle!"

"Okay!"

"Wait. Why am I not little like you guys?" Lucas asked.

"This is how you've always been." Amzie said.

"The only you we've ever seen." Maya said before she jumped on Lucas's back.

"Hey!"

"Giddy up, Huckleberry!"

"Maya, you can't just jump on me. Riley—!" Lucas started before Riley jumped into his arms.

"Whee!"

"Okay."

"In the town of New York, not Texas!" Riley sang.

"A freak face becomes our best friend! Ya ta ta! Ya ta ta! Ya ta ta! Hey!" Farkle sang.

"No matter how things go." Riley and Farkle sang.

"We'll always have the bay window." Lucas said.

"The same one forever! The end." Maya and Amzie sang.

"Maya, Amzie, nothing's forever. We can't be seven years old our whole lives." Riley said.

"Why can't we?"

"I like remembering who we were." Farkle said.

"I was nothing like that. I was a little boy just like all of my friends. Look. I have a picture. Huh." Lucas said as he stared at the picture.

"It's time to forget about the past." Riley said.

"Why do we have to?" Amzie asked.

"Huh."

"What's important now is who are we gonna be?" Riley said.

"What happens to who we were?" Maya asked.

"Hey, guys. Something's seriously wrong." Lucas said.

"You are never touching this bay window." Amzie said.

"How could you let them do this?" Amzie asked as Lucas, Farkle, and Riley took the bay window apart.

"We didn't. What'd you guys do?" Cory asked.

"Riley, this is your favorite place in the world." Topanga said.

"I'm just a teenage girl rearranging her room a lot." Riley said.

"Uh huh. What's really happening?" Cory asked.

"Just because we're going to high school, she thinks we should destroy our childhood." Amzie said.

"Okay, this raises an interesting question. Who here knows—?" Cory started.

"Stop."

"Stop what?"

"You were about to teach us something, weren't you?" Maya asked.

"No."

"Sure you were."

"It's the weekend and you can't stop. Bring it, Hambone." Farkle said.

"You need help, Matthews."

"You're not allowed to teach us anything today." Amzie said.

"I wasn't gonna teach you anything—" Cory started before Farkle groaned.

"Yay!"

"—because you already know this one." Cory finished before Lucas and the girls groaned.

"Yay!"

"The truth is people get comfortable with what's familiar." Cory said.

"Yeah, and when you get too comfortable, you don't allow yourself room to grow. The worst thing you can do is fold your arms and refuse to accept what's gonna come anyway." Topanga said before everyone looked at Amzie and Maya, who were sitting at the window with their arms folded.

"Yeah."

"Hey, Riley. Is that my boot? Can I please have that back?" Lucas asked as he looked at her.

"No."

"Honey, it's totally okay that you wanna create space for new memories. Let's just keep the old memories somewhere safe. You may decide that you wanna visit them again later." Topanga said.

"Fine. You see, guys? One of us is completely okay with making room for the new. You guys are laughing." Riley said after Cory and Topanga started laughing.

"Yeah."

"Is it because I'm so right that it's funny?" Riley asked.

"No."

"Oh. Then why are you laughing?" Riley asked.

"It's just a little memory that we put away." Cory said.

"Yeah. Let's take it out and visit." Topanga said.

"Why are you doing this? Am I not good enough?" Riley asked as she, Amzie, and Maya sat on the couch.

"You're okay. Topanga!" Cory called as he looked for her.

"I like the way things is. Why do we need another baby? We just need Mommy, Daddy, Riley, Amzie, Maya." Riley said.

"I lost her. Only I could lose a pregnant Topanga. Of course. Pregnant Topanga's in the car already. Don't move, girls. Mrs. Svorski's on her way up. Alright! We all got things going on!" Cory said before he left.

"You're gonna be a big sister." Amzie said.

"Why does everything have to change? Why do I have to share my parents with a baby?" Riley asked.

"You're gonna have a little brother or sister, Riley. Your family loves each other. You're very lucky." Maya said before she rested her chin on her knees.

"What's the matter, Maya?" Amzie asked.

"We don't know where my daddy is." Maya said.

"Yeah, that's the day I decided that change wasn't such a good thing." Maya said.

"Sometimes it is, Maya."

"I don't wanna go to high school." Maya said.

"Why not?"

"We've always been together. What if something changes? What if something happens? People drift apart in high school." Maya said.

"May, how could that even possibly happen?" Amzie asked.

"How could it possibly happen that the bay window would change? How could it possibly happen that people just leave?" Maya asked.

"Maya, sometimes change is good. It leads to a wonderful growing up. Don't you wanna be big girls?" Riley asked.

"No! This was the first place that I ever thought was safe. Even if my whole world changed, this place never would." Maya said.

"Then we'll put it back. We'll put it back, Maya." Riley said.

"Riles, Z, I know it's not just the bay window we're saying goodbye to." Maya said.

"It's us, right? You think you're gonna say goodbye to us?" Farkle asked.

"Maya, we're not going anywhere." Lucas said.

"Not in high school. Not any time. It's always gonna be us." Amzie said.

"Very good."

"That's it?"

"Yeah."

"That's what you wanted us to learn?" Amzie asked.

"Leave me alone."

"It's his day off." Topanga said before she and Cory left the room.

"May, we're never leaving. No matter where we go, we're never leaving. Farkle told us that he'd always love us equally no matter what." Amzie said.

"I'm as good as my promise." Farkle said.

"Lucas?"

"Right here."

"Maya, high school's just the next place. Your safe place is us. Your safe place is me and Riley." Amzie said.

"—and I'm yours; from the day we met." Maya said.

"Sup?" Maya asked after she climbed into the window.

"Are you a stranger?" Riley asked.

"Yeah."

"Are you a stranger coming through my window?" Riley asked.

"Yeah."

"Then—!" Riley started before she screamed.

"I'm running away from home. I saw your curtains and your pillows. I heard you singing. I like singing better than yelling. Please don't yell." Maya said after she and Amzie covered Riley's mouth.

"Who was yelling?" Amzie asked.

"My mommy and daddy."

"Why?"

"Because they always are. What do you do here?" Maya asked as she glanced around Riley's room.

"We sit here and I hope." Riley said.

"For what?"

"For someone to come in and sit with us. Are you her?" Riley asked.

"What are your names?" Maya asked.

"I'm Riley."

"I'm Amzie."

"Hi, Riley. Hi, Amzie. I'm Maya Penelope Hart."

"Hi, Maya."

"Are we friends forever?" Riley asked.

"Whatever you want."

"I wanna call you Peaches. Now that we're best friends forever, we should get a few things straight." Riley said.

"Like what?"

"I'm a lot of trouble. I'm gonna be the dangerous one." Riley said.

"We are." Amzie and Maya said after they got into Riley's face.

"Okay."

"You have a baby monitor." Maya chuckled as she pointed at it.

"What are you doing, Riley and Amzie?" Cory asked through the monitor.

"Just sitting here talking to each other." Maya said after she stopped Riley from answering.

"Okay, honey. Have fun."

"That was fun." Riley said.

"We're just getting started." Maya said.

"Yeah. I feel guilty. I'm gonna go tell him." Riley said before she started to get up.

"Oh boy. Are we gonna be good for you." Amzie said as Maya nodded.

"I will sprinkle you both with goodness." Riley said as they hugged each other.

"Whatever you want."

"Can we be like this forever?" Riley asked.

"Well, don't you think someday we'll have to grow up?" Amzie asked.

"How will we know when that is?" Riley asked.

"It's now."

"Hi."

"Who are you?" Maya asked.

"I'm Maya Penelope Hart."

"—but that's me." Maya said.

"Yeah."

"You're me?"

"Yeah."

"Prove it."

"Sometimes when you sit on the toilet, you like to put the lid on your back and pretend you're a turtle named Mr. Shellington." Maya said.

"Are you me?" Riley asked.

"Yeah, I am."

"Prove it."

"Well, I don't have to. You believe everything." Riley chuckled.

"You're me?" Amzie asked.

"Yeah."

"Prove it."

"Until Cory took you to DC, you thought the capital of the United States was Gotham City, but you never told anyone that." Amzie said before Little Amzie looked at Little Riley and Little Maya.

"It's us."

"It is?"

"Yeah."

"Our daddy's gone." Maya said.

"Yeah."

"Is everything gonna be okay?" Maya asked.

"Just stay close to these two and we'll be fine." Maya said as she glanced at Amzie and Riley

"Why are you here with us?" Amzie asked.

"Because we wanted to visit you and spend some time with you before things change." Amzie said.

"You're gonna change?" Riley asked.

"Yeah, that's what happens, but we wanted to thank you guys for being who we were." Maya said.

"What happens to us?" Riley asked.

"You stay with us. You're a part of us always." Riley said.

"Do we have to grow up and change?" Maya asked.

"Well, we're doing a pretty okay job so far and we get to grow up into whoever's the next us." Riley said.

"Whether we like it or not." Maya said.

"Do we have good friends?" Riley asked.

"We have the best friends." Riley said.

"Good. So who are we gonna be?" Riley asked.

"What?"

"—when we grow up more. I wanna see em!" Riley said.

"Me too!"

"Bring em in here!" Amzie said.

"Well, we can't because we actually don't know who we're gonna be yet, but we look forward to meeting them someday." Maya said.

"You'll tell them all about us, Peaches?" Riley asked.

"We won't have to. You'll be there." Maya said.

"Okay. So we decided to change the bay window?" Riley asked.

"Yeah."

"Well, we can't wait to see what you do with the place." Amzie said.

"There's a gallery in SoHo and they wanna show my stuff." Maya said.

"We'll come to your opening." Amzie said as Riley nodded.

"It starts at ten." Maya said.

"It starts at ten?" Riley asked as Maya and Amzie chuckled.

"Riley, Z, they wanna make me an artist in residence. I found an apartment in SoHo." Maya said.

"—but the farthest we've ever been apart is like this much. When are we gonna see each other?" Riley asked.

"All the time."

"Well, I'm disgusted."

"Now what do we do?" Maya asked.

"Now we leave this place, Maya." Amzie said.

"How do we do that? All of our memories are here." Maya said.

"We take them with us. Look at them. Can you see them?" Riley asked.

"How would I do that?" Maya asked.

"All you have to do is lift your head." Amzie said.

"You think they know we're here?" Little Amzie asked.

"They know."

"They won't forget about us, will they?" Little Riley asked.

"Are we always gonna be with them?" Little Maya asked.

"So goodbye, this room." Maya said as she glanced around.

"Thanks for everything."

"Out the window the way I came in?" Maya asked.

"Don't big girls go out the door?" Riley asked.

"Yeah, they do." Amzie said before they climbed out the window.

"Are you coming?"

"Coming?"

"Ready for this change, guys?" Riley asked after they finished putting pillows on the bay window.

"Whatever you want."

"I can't wait to see what's next." Riley said.

"I hope it's good."

"Promise me we'll always be together." Riley said.

"We'll always be together." Maya and Amzie chorused.

"Then it's good."
