Lush Life- Zara Larsson
Ty's POV

I walk underneath each of the dim turquoise security lamps that hang in the middle of the dauntless pathways. I hold Hannah on my hip, her diaper bag on my shoulder as we walk to my parents' house. Maddie is back at our house with Olivia, Ariana and Abby, having a girls' night.

I've just decided to go and sit and talk to my parents for the night, because I'm that guy without a social life pretty much. I kiss Hannah as we pass under a little cliff, then hug her close to me. "Da!" She shouts, glee in her voice.

She wraps her tiny fingers around my thumb and then smiles at me, showing her mouth full of little teeth. Hannah is now nineteen months old- pretty mind blowing if you ask me.

"Hannah!" I say to her. She giggles. "Hann...ah." She gurgles, then throws her head back. I laugh, and she kicks her little legs against my side as she giggles. She looks up at me, her eyes very serious.

"Boo." I say to her, and she falls into a fit of laughter. I caress her little cheek as she lays her head on my chest, and kiss her hair, continuing to walk.

We walk down my parents' hall, near the chasm, and I end up at their door. I knock, and Hannah buries her head into my chest. "Sh, it's okay Hannah." I whisper to her, and my father opens the door.

His head faces back into the house. "Yeah, I'll get it in a minute, Shauna." He laughs, then turns to face me. "Hey, Ty! Hello Hannah!" He smiles down at Hannah, and she looks up at me, laughing.

"Zee!" She shouts up at me, "Zee!" Her big brown eyes stare into mine with a sense of curiosity in them. I smile down at her, nodding.

I look up at my father as Hannah goes into a laughing fit. "Hey. She really has the giggles today." I smile. He nods, chuckling.

"Come in." He opens up the door, and we step inside. I set Hannah down, and she races toward the couch, where my mother sits. She looks down into a basket of yarn, her eyebrows creased in concentration.

"Is that Ty?" She asks happily. "Yeah," my father replies as he walks over to the couch. I sit on the love seat across from them, Hannah in my arms once again.

I place Hannah beside me, toward the back of the couch, a pillow behind her. She gurgles at me, hitting her thighs with her tiny hands, making a slapping sound.

"Hey Ty." My mother says softly. "Hey," I reply.

My dad leans back into the couch and wraps his arm around my mother, who has now put the yarn basket away. I sit with my arm stretched across the back of the couch, my right leg thrown across my left leg in a casual manner.

"So it's a boy?" My mother asks. I nod. "You figured out a name yet?" She asks me.

I nod once again. She raises her eyebrows as if asking me to explain. "Dylan Lee Pedrad." I smile at the name choice. My father slaps his hands against his cheeks, gaping.

"Oh my- what a handsome name!" My mother says, standing up. She walks over to the wall and slips on her combat boots, then hugs me.

"I gotta go for my shift at Christina's baby store." She shrugs.

"Bye, mom." I say to her. "Bye, Ty." She grins, then tells Hannah goodbye as well as my father, then leaves.

My father smirks at me. "Hannah Sofia and Dylan Lee, huh?" He says. I nod. He smirks, then throws his head back, smiling. "What?" I ask him.

"I still can't believe that my son ended up marrying my best friend's daughter! And that you two have one kid, and one on the way!" He grins excitedly.

I smile. "Yeah." I say, looking down at Hannah. Her chocolate brown eyes are now closed, and she lays down, her back facing my father and her stomach against the couch pillow as she sleeps peacefully.

Zeke stares at me, smiling. "You remember that day that we chased you and Maddie into your apartment while Four was shouting 'safety first' at you?" He giggles.

I close my eyes, smiling while shaking my head. "Sadly, yes." I sigh. He smirks at me knowingly. His bright green eyes pierce into mine, and I can't escape his gaze. I eventually feel a smile tugging at the corners of my mouth, and I chuckle.

"The image of the two of you laying down on that couch," my father nearly whispers, "it's never left me. Also, I look at Maddie and Hannah, and I know that you two have done the 'Frick frack.'" He puts air quotes around Frick Frack, smirking at me.

I cover up my reddening cheeks with my hands, seeping back into the couch. It's quiet for a minute, before I feel my hands being lifted from my face, then being used to pull me up. Hannah still sleeps soundly, and I smile at my father.

"I'm very proud of the man you've become, Ty." My father whispers, "I want you to know that I've accepted the fact that you're growing up, and the reason Four is so hard on you, it's because he doesn't want to watch Maddie grow up."

He looks down at me, his face shadowed yet still glowing from the light of the candles flickering from the coffee table.

"He talked to me the other day." I say, remembering our conversation, more importantly the parts of Jordan and the fact that I stabbed him in the foot.

"What'd you talk about?" He asks me, crossing his arms.

"Well, we talked about parenting, and how I'm not as bad as I force myself to think, and him trusting me with Maddie, and how..." I let my voice fade.

My father furrows his eyebrows, then nods. "How what?" He asks.

I stay silent, and he reiterates. "How...how I stabbed...Jordan." I feel the tears beginning to sizzle in the back of my eyes, threatening to spill over any second.

"You what?" My father asks me abruptly. "You stabbed your cousin?!"

I take a breath, but it comes out as an exasperated gasp. "I stabbed him in the foot." I say shakily. I was going to kill him and end it all, but I couldn't do it. Not to you or Uncle Uri, or the rest of the family. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I did that." I cry.

My father pulls me to him, and I sob into his shirt. No one will know how much of a coward I am. I'm hidden. "You're okay." My father soothes.

"He's tearing my life apart piece by piece, and it's killing me." I pull away.

My father asks me to explain, so I do.

"He's used serum to make Maddie fall for him, and he's forced me to watch. He's made me go under serum that ensues a vision where Hannah is killed, and Maddie blames me for her death, so that she falls for him." I whisper.

"Ty, when did this all happen?" My father asks.

"He's kidnapped us, or tried to, like four times." I whisper.

"Oh," he sighs. "Well, all I can say is that we're trying to take him down, and that Maddie would never fall for Jordan. She loves you, Ty. I can see it." He smiles.

"You don't understand, dad. He almost killed her. He almost killed me... and he almost killed the baby. He held us at gunpoint, and if I hadn't have pulled Maddie down right when I did, she'd be dead right now, and so would the baby." I say, and my father gasps.

"He didn't!" He exclaims. I nod. "He did." I sigh. My father shakes his head. "How pitiful." He says, and I nod, my eyebrows raised.

>>               Maddie

"So, how's the baby?" Olivia asks me. She shuts the refrigerator door after pulling out a bottle of water.

I shrug. "Fine, I guess." I lean against the bar in the kitchen. I feel a small cramp in my stomach, and I Stand up straighter. Hope it wasn't anything bad. It happened with Hannah, so it should be normal.

She rolls her eyes, smiling. "It's a boy." I say happily. Olivia smiles.

"Name?" She asks. "Dylan Lee Pedrad." I reply. She gapes at me, then smiles. "It's a good name." She says. I nod.

We both walk out of the kitchen and into the living room, where Abby and Ariana sit. They talk about Abby's baby, which she hopes is a girl.

"I'm sure that whether it's a boy or a girl, the baby will beautiful." Ariana whispers as she takes a sip of her hot chocolate. I look down at my stomach.

Seven months along.

Only two more months and Dylan will be here in my arms, in Ty's arms, in our arms.

"So, where's Ty? He normally can't stay away from your side this long." Ariana smirks. I feel my cheeks redden, but then I dismiss it.

"He's at his parents' house, Hannah's with him too." I say, pursing my lips together. "Hannah's been in a laughing fit for like the past two days." I say, looking at Ariana.

"Luke is so quiet, he might gurgle or giggle every now and then, but he mainly whimpers or shouts for one of the two of us." Ariana says, shrugging. I nod slowly.

I close my eyes, and picture Ty by my side, Hannah and Dylan in our arms- a peaceful picture.

>>                Ty

Hannah rolls over onto her back, opening her eyes and stretching her limbs out so that she resembles a starfish. I smile down at her, and she whimpers quietly, before clutching her stomach and crying. "Da! Fglrb!" She screeches.

I know immediately that she wants food. I turn around and reach into her diaper bag, and pull out a bottle. I shake it up, then set it down on the coffee table as I pull Hannah to sit on my lap.

She waves her arms when I reach to pick the bottle up, then claps as I hand it to her. She holds it to her mouth and gulps it down. I smile at her, then look up at my father, who raises his eyebrows in a casual manner.

"You just stopped her crying faster than I ever could with you or Ashton." He smiles as he compliments me. "Thanks." I say, looking back down at Hannah, who stares across the room, at a small plant that sits on the ground.

She soon finishes the bottle, then hugs me. I hold her close to me as I place the bottle back in the diaper bag, then kiss her forehead when I look back down at her. She smiles at me, her teeth glowing and eyes shimmering.

My father smiles at me. "You're a great father, Ty." He looks over at me, from his spot beside me where he sits now.

"Thank you." I say softly, my voice barely above a whisper. "I think we're gonna head home. Hannah should be getting pretty tired soon." I say.

My father pats me on the back. "You go on now, and if you and Maddie ever need some alone time," he wiggles his eyebrows as he smirks, "just bring Hannah, and the little one once he's born, here. I'll be happy to watch them." He smiles. I nod, my cheeks very red.

"It's okay, Ty. I know that you two like to be alone, every couple does. Just don't let the romance die just because you have kids. If they're not there, they won't hear the moans and screams." He smirks. I turn my head away from him.

"I've heard you two." He whispers against my ear, sending a chill down my spine. I turn back to him, and look at him, my eyes wide.

"Eh, don't worry. I've heard Ashton and Abby too. But you two...romantic." He wiggles his eyebrows.

"Ty, I love you!" He says loudly. "I love you too, Maddie." Then he continues to make kissing sounds. I kiss Hannah's forehead, then hug her close to me, trying to imagine that I'm not in this situation anymore.

"Four and I were outside your door listening to the moans that day when we chased you to your house, and finally got that door open. Dude, you guys were getting it on." My father starts chuckling. I look at him.

"It's a little hard to get it on when your parents keep walking in on you." I say, shrugging. "Yes dad, we've had sex. Is that not how Hannah is here and Dylan is on the way?" I raise my eyebrows.

He nods. "It's just hard to believe that you and Four's daughter are married and have two kids!" He cheers excitedly. I let out a small laugh.

"Dad, you've already said that." I say. He merely shrugs. "Oh well, I'm just so excited for you." He smiles.

I stand up. "I guess we're gonna get going. Bye, dad." I say.

He stands up and hugs me. "Don't let Jordan get to you, Ty. Maddie loves you. The baby is okay, and Jordan will be locked up soon. He can't walk, so he can't escape. Okay?" He asks.

"Okay." I nod.

>>

As I lay in bed that night with Maddie in my arms, she looks up at me. "Ty," she whispers, pulling my hand with hers to a spot on her stomach, "Dylan's kicking."

I smile, and when my hand makes contact with her stomach, Dylan responds with a kick.

Maddie looks at me, her eyes full of love and adoration. I lean into her, as does she, and we kiss.

Dylan kicks the spot where our hands are, and I move my other hand to hold Maddie at the back of her neck, her hand snaking around to wrap around my shoulders.

When I pull back from the sweet, sugar-like kiss, I grin at her. "Only two more months." I tell her.

She grins cheekily, kissing me and then quickly pulling away. "Yep, two more months, and then he'll be here, in our arms."

a/n: Father and son chapters are always cool. But anywho, it has been (lightly, sometimes heavily, just like a period) raining like non-stop since Thursday and I'm sick of it, I wanna see the sun again. So how was your Thanksgiving? Hope you had a happy one! 🦃
