After a two week hiatus, I'll be starting the final and longest arc of this story, the 'Godly Gauntlet' arc, and once that's done in a few months... HTSSP will be over.
This passion project of mine has been going on for over a year now and I've enjoyed every bit of it so far, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't beginning to get burned out after over 600,000 words in nearly 160 chapters.
Then there's all the research and editing that goes into this, and with me just being one person, it really begins to get tedious after a while.
This story is still gonna end with several very large bangs, but once that's done, it'll probably be a while before I begin working on other projects. As for what said projects are...
Dovahkean's South Park Multiverse Encyclopedia
There has been a lot of worldbuilding in my story with canon as a base, so much so that I decided to create a guidebook just to organize it all.
This is going to feature pretty much everything I expanded upon from canon from locations like worlds and dimensions to factions and organizations to abilities and transformations and so on.
Feel free to use all this worldbuilding in your own fics if you like; all I ask is that you reference where you got it from. We'll all get some more readers and links from it, and I'd even be willing to have potential crossovers in the future. After all, the multiverse I created has plenty of transmigrators around thanks to Morgan Freeman's meddling.
As for where they fit into this...
'Potential' HTSSP Sequel
When all is said and done, HTSSP will probably be around 200 chapters long, and while I've already planned out a nice way to wrap everything up, there will still be a few questions left unanswered and a few avenues left unexplored.
Such things could be the main focus of a POTENTIAL sequel, but that isn't something I'll be doing for a long time, if at all. Like I said, after working on this story for so long, it's really starting to get tedious for me, so directly moving on to a sequel would likely negatively affect the quality of said sequel.
Maybe it will be in the form of a few short stories or perhaps a crossover with other authors. I don't know; I haven't planned that far ahead yet. Point is, the potential for a follow-up is out there, but it's far from being my priority.
Rather, I'm considering having my next story be in a completely different franchise.
How to Survive ?????
I love the concept of isekai/transmigration and completely breaking worlds through use and abuse of the original story script. Just look at what I did to South Park.
But that franchise is far from the only one that can be completely busted open. There are countless fan-made isekai stories of various franchises out there and I already have a couple different worlds in mind that would be a lot of fun to completely break after I'm done with South Park.
Of course, I'm open to suggestions from you all as well, so if there is a franchise you would like me to completely demolish on a quest for basic survival, then comment down below and I'll take those suggestions into consideration.
It could be a video game franchise like Mario or Splatoon, an anime or manga like My Hero Academia or Tensura, or even another cartoon show like The Simpsons. I'm open to all suggestions.
But that's all for the future. Going back to the story I'm currently working on, this final arc is going to have three main sections or mini-arcs, one of which will be Dovah's adventure through South Park: Snow Day!
I planned on including this ever since it was officially announced and it's going to be lots of fun to write as this game was basically tailor-made for someone like Dovah to completely and utterly demolish.
The rules Cartman and the others came up with to prevent New Kid from becoming too OP again are filled to the fucking brim with loopholes ripe for exploitation and Cartman's probably gonna get several more heart attacks while witnessing Dovah do his thing.
As for what comes before and after that mini-arc, I won't be spoiling that just yet.
...Well, besides this little teaser.
"What is it?" Morgan Freeman asks his miffed colleague. "I thought that letting my young self go out would be enough to aid you."
"A fuckload of good that's doing!" Reality complains. "I know that you and most of the others don't particularly care about this place, but it's still connected to me! As much as I love a good show, those monsters are gonna really start tearing apart my domain if this battle carries on!"
"Like you don't have something to counter existences on that level without descending yourself." Freeman deadpans.
"I already had to stop the Announcer from throwing his own forces into the fray just for the hell of it; I refuse to deal with anymore bullshit today, Freeman! You know damn well why I'm not revealing my cards yet!"
"Despite this being the perfect chance to deal with your successor's competition for the next spot among us?" Freeman inquires, stealing Reality's shtick of bluntly pointing out bullshit.
"And piss off you lot in the process? I'll pass, especially since the Announcer is this close to shooting himself in the foot at the moment. I won't be the laughing stock of the Pantheon for much longer."
"Well, if it makes you feel any better, Dovah screwed over me as well by destroying the Patrol and humiliating my younger self, although the former was bound to happen soon anyway. He also seems intent on framing me for all his self-made problems for whatever reason."
"That was nothing but a shell company for that suit-loving himbo who is clearly still in your camp, something you're still trying and failing to convince us is not the case for whatever reason." Reality argues back.
Several seconds of silence then pass before Reality sighs, "Look, I get that buying time will help young you improve here, but can you at least agree to stopping this battle with me if the damage starts spilling into other timelines? This reality getting destroyed may affect me the most, but it would still negatively impact the rest of you!"
"...Fine."
"Thank you. And try not to disperse too much energy into the area while doing so unless you want the transmigrator and that rock to notice and gobble it up."
"And the girl? If that stick she's using really lets her contend with beings on that level-"
"Let them play their own games and clean up their own messes. I just don't want this becoming our mess."
