Mackenzie enters the house and stays in front fo the door for a few seconds until her father appears, slightly angry.
-You know, Edward could at least respect meal times. - The brown haired girl grimaces while lightly shaking her head.
The girl walks towards the living room to leave her backpack there.
-I was with Jacob. - Mack explains while watching how her father opens his mouth, slightly surprised by her words.
-Your sister told me you didn't go to school by talking to Jacob. - The brown haired girl nods slowly.
-Yeah, we had to fix a misunderstanding but I think things got worse. - The girl admits.
Charlie can't reply because someone knocks on the door. Mackenzie grimaces and walks towards the front door.
-I'll be in the kitchen. - The man says, knowing his daughter must speak to her partner.
Mack opens the door, finding Edward who has a worried expression.
-I've been worrying about you. - The guy admits right after the door opens.
-I was perfectly safe in the reservation. - Mackenzie explains, realising Edward lightly shakes his head and that his eyes aren't golden anymore, they have a intimidating black colour.
-I almost broke the treaty to make sure if... - Edward freezes, analysing the inside of the house.
-I know I smell like Jacob but... - The guy quickly shakes his head and the girl makes herself aside, letting him in.
-No, something's wrong. - Edward says while walking up the stairs.
Mackenzie takes off her jacket and closes the door before following him. The boy enters his partner's bedroom, realising that the bedsheets are unsettled and the wardrobe is open.
-Mack? - Bella asks, entering the room.
-Someone's been in here. - Edward affirms.
Mackenzie stays silent until realising there's an empty hook along with her underwear drawer being open.
-Bella, have we done the laundry? - The brown haired girl asks, confused.
-No, that's tomorrow. - Bella says confusedly while crossing her arms.
-Someone's been looking through my underwear and my wardrobe. - Mack walks towards the drawer, realising that all of her underwear is unsettled. - Somebody looked through my stuff.
Mackenzie closes the drawer and approaches the wardrobe and realize that there's a dress missing.
-Damn it. - Edward whispers after realising what's going on before exiting the house.
Bella looks at her sister who shakes her head. Both twins get out of the room and follow Edward.
Mackenzie stays sat by her sister and Esme's side who gives her a mug with chamomile tea.
-Who was it? Someone we know? - Carlisle asks Edward who's in front of his entire family.
-This stranger, I didn't recognize his scent. - Edward admits looking at Mackenzie who mover her leg nervously.
-A nomad passing through? - Esme asks, rubbing Mackenzie's back.
-A passerby wouldn't have left Bella and Mackenzie's father alive. - Rosalie affirms.
-The scent disappeared about five miles south of Bella and Mackenzie's house. - Jasper says while entering the living room along with Emmett.
Emmett approaches Rosalie to hug her by the waist.
-Someone's orchestrating this. - Carlisle affirms.
-Victoria? - Mackenzie asks, leaving the tea on the table before looking at the man.
-I would have seen her decide. - Alice tells her.
-Has to be the Volturi. - The Swan sisters get tense by hearing such vampires' names.
-I don't think it's the Volturi, either. I've been watching Aro's decisions, too. - Alice says firmly, getting the Swan twins more nervous each time.
-So we keep looking. - Emmett tells Mackenzie who nods slowly.
-We'll also take shifts guarding Bella at her house. - The Cullen father plans.
-You can't protect us and search for the intruder. - Mackenzie says, crossing her arms.
-And for Victoria. - Rosalie reminds.
-And besides that, you need to keep yourselves fed. - Bella says, agreeing with her sister's idea.
-I'm not leaving you defenseless. - Edward states towards Mackenzie.
-You will not starve, Edward. We can ask for help to... - Mack lowers her voice tone until looking at Bella who nods firmly.

The Swan sisters get out fo their house with Jacob behind them. They get in front of Edward along with Jake.
-Whoever it was, he left his stink behind. It'll be hard to miss when we cross it again. We'll handle it from here. - Jacob says while mantaining a straight posture.
-We don't need you to handle anything. - The Swan twins cross their arms at the same time.
-And here they go again. I'm getting sick of it. - Bella says while rolling her eyes.
-They're giving me a headache. - Mackenzie whispers, closing her eyes for a moment.
-I could care less what you need. - Jacob sneeres, taking a step towards Edward.
-All right, we're done here. - Edward tells Mackenzie.
-No, you're done here. - Jacob states, taking Edward's arm but he gets off his grip abruptly.
Mack gets tired of the situation and gets in between both boys. Bella approaches them and takes Jacob by the arm.
-That's enough! No more discussions! You're behaving like 10 years olds! - Mackenzie screams, catching the boys' attention. - We gotta go to school, we're gonna be late.
She looks at her sister who nods, giving her half a smile. Mack takes Edward by the hand and guides him to the car.
As the days passed, both the Cullens and the tribe understood it wasn't about rivalry anymore. It was about the Swan girls and Charlie's safety.
Both Bella and Mackenzie made them work together without fighting. It was kind of an advance. The wolves took care of them while the Cullens hunted. It wasn't an easy alliance but they at least didn't fight during the process.
The Swan twins get out of Edward's car at the same time. The oldest twin runs to her partner to hug him strongly. Jacob returns the hug with a smile on his face.
-Hello, gorgeous. - He greets before taking Bella's cheeks to kiss her.
-Doesn't he own a shirt? - Edward asks sarcastically by seeing Jacob shirtless.
-It's okay, baby. You should go. - Mackenzie whispers, catching his attention.
-I'm not gonna be gone long. - He assures while taking her by the waist.
-Don't rush. You need to hunt. Take your time. - Mack affirms. Edward pulls her to his chest to attach their lips.
The girl returns the kiss with a grin, knowing Edward only kisses her that way by jealousy. The brown haired girl bites his lower lip, concluding the kiss.
-Maybe rush a little bit. - Edward smiles by her comment.
He pulls her to his chest once more to kiss her forehead softly. Mack caresses his cheek one last time before walking towards Jacob.
-Hey, beautiful. - Mackenzie rolls her eyes and returns Jake's hug, knowing his intentions.
-Hi. - She says, knowing Edward glances at her before getting into his car and drive away at a great speed.
The Swan sisters walk towards Jacob's car and have intentions of getting in but the guy stops them.
-So, what do you wanna do today? Bike, hike, nothing? - Jake asks with a smile on his face. - Your call. But we're going to a party tonight.
The Swans glance at each other confusedly before getting into his car; Bella on the passenger's seat and Mackenzie on the backseats.

Do you know what's stupid af? That Bella barely smiles in the entire saga. She's always with that "I wanna die right now" or "I'm nothing without Edward" face. THEY LITERALLY NEVER NICKNAME EACH OTHER. THE ONLY NICKNAME THEY HAVE IN THE BOOKS IS "LOVE". AND THE ONLY ONE IN THE MOVIES IS "BABY" WHEN ISABELLA WAS ALREADY DEAD.
