As the days passed by, the Swan sisters caught up on each other's lives. Bella told Mack about the Cullens. She didn't believe it at first, but after seeing her sister's scar and certain things that made sense, she believed her... Well, not completely.
Bella, after catching up with her sister, locked herself up in her own world. Charlie and Mackenzie were worried about her given that she almost spoke, she didn't eat, and barely came out of her room. Bella was absent to school for a week along with Mackenzie, but she did it because she had to finish some procedures of her previous school before entering Forks High School.
-Good morning, dad. - Mackenzie says, walking down the stairs while entering the kitchen and approaching her father to give him a small kiss on the cheek.
-Good morning, Mack. Breakfast's ready. - Charlie says, giving her a plate with scarmbled eggs and toast.
-Thanks, dad. - Mackenzie kisses her father's cheek again before sitting down at the round table that's in the kitchen.
Mackenzie sits down and realises there's anther plate with breakfast on the table, but it's perfectly neat. Nobody has touched it.
-And Bella? - Mackenzie asks, taking a sip of her orange juice.
-She doesn't wanna eat and said she wouldn't go to school. - Mackenzie leaves her glass on the table strongly, startling her father.
-That's enough. - Mackenzie stands up angrily and walks up the stairs.
-This'll end badly. - Charlie whispers, serving some coffee in a mug.
Mackenzie tries opening Bella's bedroom door but it's locked.
-Bella, open the door. - Mackenzie starts knocking on the door insistently, knowing her twin can hear her.
-Don't bother me, Mack, I wanna be alone. - The brown haired girl closes her eyes for a moment before speaking again.
-You've been alone enough time. Open the door or I'll break it down. - Mackenzie says, losing patience.
-Leave me alone. - Mackenzie lets go of the doorknob and takes a few steps back.
-Fine, you said it yourself. - Mackenzie says before turning around.
She gets in front of Bella's bedroom door once again and, without thinking it twice, kicks the door strongly. Bella looks away from the window before looking at her door. Mackenzie kicks the door once more time and it snaps open.
-What the hell's wrong with you?! - Bella yells, standing up from her place to get in front of her sister, who breaths heavily.
-I told you that if you didn't open that goddamn door, I'd break it down. You didn't hear me so get on with it. - Mackenzie says, fixing her hair and the pink squared skirt she's wearing.
-Mackenzie. - The mentioned one shakes her head quickly while walking towards Bella's closet.
-"Mackenzie" my ass. You're gonna go to that goddamn school right now. You've been absent quite enough and I won't bring your homework for you. - Mackenzie takes out a jean of her sister's, which, apparently, is the only thing in her wardrobe along with a mustard-yellow, long sleeve blouse.
-I don't wanna go to school, Mack. - The mentioned one stops on her tracks and looks back at her sister.
-Is that Edwin the only man in the world? - Mackenzie asks, crossing her arms.
-It's not Edwin, it's Edward. - The younger twin rolls her eyes. - And you don't get it. What he and I had...
-It's over. Accept it, Bella. It looks like you've never dated a guy. - Mackenzie says, walking towards her sister's desk and starting to pack up her stuff.
-It's just that, with Edward, everything was different. - Bella whispers, looking down.
-Bella, nothing's different in a relationship. - Mackenzie turns around, getting in front of her older sister. - You meet, you flirt, you start dating, he asks you out, everything's colour pink and, suddenly, things start getting awkward. He stops talking to you, he doesn't text or call you anymore, he makes up stupid excuses to avoid you and, sadly, the break up comes. Relationships are a chain that repeats and repeats non-stop.
The twins stay quiet for a moment until Mackenzie approaches her sister to take her hands.
-Bella, Edwin is not the first man you're gonna meet and fall in love with. There are plenty of guys in the world but there are also girls. - Mackenzie says, making her older sister laugh. - Never let a man ruin you, a man doesn't deserve your tears.
Mackenzie wipes off Bella's tears with the sleeve of her black blouse while trying to calm down.
-I need to get over it, Mack. - Bella whispers while closing her eyes.
-And you will. With my help and with a few strippers. - Bella widens her eyes and looks at her younger sister, scared. - Just kidding, dummy.
Bella laughs, without holding it in.
-I think the necklace I gave you suits you incredibly well. You're a little demon. - The twins look at the older one's bedroom door and laugh.
-I know. Now, you're gonna change those clothes and go downstairs to eat the breakfast that dad made us. Then, we're going to school. And, just like that, you'll recover the control of your life and move on from that Edwin. - Bella smiles by hearing her younger sister's words.
-It's Edward. - The older twin corrects.
-Step one for moving on from your previous relationship: Stop correcting me and let me call your ex how I want. - Mackenzie says firmly.
-But his name isn't Edwin. - The younger twin rolls her eyes.
-But I wanna call him like that so get on with it because what I do and don't do is none of your business. - Bella nods firmly. - All right, go change, wash your face and put on some make-up while I wait for you downstairs to eat breakfast.
Bella nods, approaching her bed to take the outfit that her twin chose before heading towards the bathroom. Mackenzie exits Bella's bedroom, smiling, and goes to the kitchen, where she sits in front of her breakfast and her father.
-You spoke to Bella? - The man asks, looking up from the newspaper.
-Yeah, she'll come down shortly. - Mackenzie starts eating until remembering something. - Dad...
-I already called someone to come and fix your sister's door. Don't worry about it. - Mack smiles innocently. - But use the keys next time.
Mackenzie laughs and nods before continuing to eat her breakfast.
