six months passed and keith and y/n we're doing good she finally got completely over kobe and could see him with someone else without being jealous or even giving a second glance she ended up letting keith read her journal and he read it every single page over and over again trying to understand her mindset then once he finally got it down he started treating her the way he knew she not only needed to be treated but also the way she wanted to today they were at his house he bought a crib so when y/n stayed over amerie had somewhere to sleep so that's what she was doing upstairs in the room sleep while keith and y/n were in his living room making a fort and playing around then once it was built they put a bunch of blankets on the floor and laid on their stomachs turning on the tv and lightly kicking their feet in the air while holding each other's hand
Keith: if you had unlimited money a car that never ran out of gas and no responsibilities what would you do
Y: i'd get in that car drive off and never turn back just travel the world and live life to the fullest

Keith: true well i care because not only do i know the feeling but i can say as time went on i grew attached to you and i can't stand the sight of you being sad in any way i don't even care if it's for a second the things i'd do just to see you smile is probably crazy but i love that beautiful smile it's honestly something i can't live without

Y: what am i supposed to say huh the only thing i can think of is i'm so grateful you're in my life and honestly without you i don't know how i would've gotten over kobe what that you're truly the person that saved my life that's all i can think about i wake up i think about oh i wonder how keith's doing i go to sleep and i'm like i wonder if keith's thinking about me when my mind isn't occupied you're the only thing i can think of and sometimes i think you'll realize you have more options and you'll leave just like him you have all these girls from all kind of age groups wanting you and you pick me yet somehow i can't help but think it's all too good to be true

Y: you're joking but that's how it feels nothing good ever happens to me besides my daughter that's it no one treats me good for a long time they get what they want from me and they leave and honestly if you do that i think my heart would break beyond repair you've shown me beautiful things and you've helped me so much i just feel like sometimes i should walk away before i get too close but i realize it's too late and if i walk away now i won't know what to do with myself and that's what i was trying so hard to prevent i feel weak
Keith: wow y/n i don't promise a lot of things but i promise it not doing all of this because i want something sexual from you the only thing i was is your heart and mind by that heart i mean i want to be able to tell that you mean it when you say things and that you genuinely want to be with me and your mind i just want you to be able to talk to me whenever something is bothering you if you can do that then y/n i just have one question will y-
before keith could finish they heard amerie yelling from upstairs so he just smiled and got up
Keith: i got it
he walked upstairs then into the room picking amerie up and gently swaying her back and forth
Keith: hey i'm trying to ask your mom out and you're messing it up just give me a shot huh i've known you since you were born this is unfair i'm not your dad i know but your mom means a lot to me and i want to give her as close to the world as possible because that's what she deserves i want to build something with her because she's amazing
