two months passed and today was the baby shower they were all standing around laughing and taking pictures with each other having a good time then they handed kobe and y/n basketballs that explode when they hit the ground so they threw them up and when they fell down pink smoke went everywhere and even though kobe wanted a boy he picked y/n up hugging her while she hugged him back
Kobe: bout to get real overprotective of you two
Y: i know
kobe placed y/n back down on the ground kissing her while she kissed him back once they pulled away they smiled then vanessa took thousands of pictures once they got tired of it they just walked off laughing and going to everyone else talking to them then y/n saw leona walk in
Kobe: don't worry about her no i didn't invite her and no i don't plan on talking to her it's your day enjoy it
Y: our day
y/n held kobes hand smiling while he smiled back kissing her cheek then amador walked over yelling in kobes face over something causing everyone to either look or circle around them
Kobe: man calm down grab a cupcake and enjoy the shower
Amador: you don't deserve her you don't deserve any of this
Y: amador stop you're a great friend and i'm so thankful you were there for me through everything but i'm with kobe
Amador: and that's what i don't get he doesn't treat you right everyone can see it but you how dumb can you be y/n
Y: today has been a good day and i'm not letting you ruin it i'm leaving
y/n turned around to leave and amador felt all the anger wash over him and he was about to punch kobe but leona pushed him into y/n causing everyone to gasp loud when she fell on her stomach while amador tried to help her up but he couldn't because kobe grabbed amador by the collar of his shirt slamming him on the ground and punching him over and over again vanessa ran over to y/n flipping her around and sitting her up while she sat there crying hysterically watching as blood trickled from in between her legs
Vanessa: kiya go start the car up and fast and someone please pull kobe off of him
while kiya started the car jaiden pulled kobe off with a struggle of course but once he stopped fighting back he got in the car with everyone else and they drove off speeding to the hospital while y/n gripped kobes hand in pain throwing her head back and grinding her teeth when they made it they got her to a room and after a bunch of tests and checking the inaudible heartbeat they came back seeing y/n just blankly staring with tears pouring down her face while kobe paced back and forth rubbing his hands together
Doctor: i'm so sorry but we haven't heard a heartbeat and with the fall you took it's very unlikely although there might be a chance but it's very slim i'm sorry
y/ns facial expression didn't change for a while as if she was still taking everything in but once she got herself together she bust out crying and kobe walked to her with a few tears coming down his face wrapping her in a hug rubbing and kissing her head
Kobe: it's gonna be ok we're gonna get through this together i promise
Y: do you think the chance could work
Kobe: yea i do let's just hope ok
y/n shook her head while kobe kept rubbing her head she ended up crying herself to sleep while he did the same but he slept on the hospital couch while vanessa came in wiping both of their faces
Vanessa: my poor babies
Kiya: i feel bad y/n was really excited for that baby
Vanessa: yea she was i just wish there was something we could do
Doctor: actually there is in times like this the patient best benefits from family being around i know you might think it's best to give them space but if you're in a dark place like this who knows what you'll do with space
Vanessa: ok but since the baby was so far along whats gonna happen
Doctor: um on the scheduled nine months she'll give birth
Kiya: you can't do that you can't make her go four more months with a baby that she knows is dead and still is gonna be when she pushes it out that so unfair and cruel
Doctor: yes it is but sadly there's nothing we can do
Kiya: so best idea is to let her suffer even more knowing she couldn't protect her baby her friend pushed her down at her baby shower and she has to live with that forever and you're telling me letting her wait out the rest is the best you can do that's fucking bullshit and you know it that's so f-
Vanessa: kiya baby maybe go get some air
Kiya: it's so unfair mom
Vanessa: i know baby but please
kiya looked at her mom then the doctor and rolled her eyes walking out the door wiping her tears and turning the corner to go outside
Vanessa: i really just don't want her to suffer
Doctor: i'm very sorry
Y: guys please don't talk like i'm not here
Vanessa: oh hey we didn't know you were awake
Doctor: but since you are how are you feeling
Y: like a failure like i couldn't protect the baby i brought into this world she was growing inside of me and it was my duty to protect her the first thing i should've done w-
Vanessa: do not speak like that no matter what you did a great job protecting your baby yes things didn't work out but in the end you did your part and honey that's all that matters
