"are you ready my little pumpkin?" lucius asks his daughter, looking down at her as she looks back up at him with wide eyes and a big smile.
"im so excited daddy!" you smile, jumping up and down while holding his hand, your other hand holding your brothers, dracos hand.
"im going to have so much fun!" you exclaim, your older brother who recently graduated from hogwarts is smiling widely as he sees you.
"you are" he chuckles, watching as you look around the train station, amazed by all the people, the noise, the animals and the magic.
2 years after the war, and its little {Y/N} malfoys time to step into hogwarts. she heard lots of good things about it from her brother and father, and cant wait to go already.
lucius on the other hand wasnt very extatic on you going. hes going to miss you. draco already moved out long ago and his relationship with lucius is pretty complicated, but yours and luciuss relationship was perfect. you were daddys little girl, and he wanted to keep you safe and close to him.
finally, you all stop, your case magically stopping beside you with your owl in its cage.
lucius squats down, his hand still leaning on his cane thats now taller then him. he leaves your hand and puts it on your shoulder, smiling gently at your happy face.
"you just stay safe, right?" he asks lowly, watching as you nod eagerly. "and youll send me letters, right?" he asks, you nod again, "and you send me some too, right?" you ask.
"of course i will" he smiles, petting down your hair and straightening your robe.
"im gonna make you proud daddy, i promise" you smile widely, putting your hands around his neck and hugging him tightly. he smiles and puts his hand on your back, hugging you close to his body.
"im going to be the best slytherin hogwarts has ever seen!" you smile widely. "im always proud of you" he smiles, kissing your forehead and stands up straight again.
you turn around to hug your brother and taking up your case, you run to the train and sit in a cabin, and waving them away as the train starts marching away from the station and to hogwarts.

hogwarts is marvelous, big and beautiful, and already on the train you made some nice friends.
when your name was called and you got sorted into a house, everyone, especially the teachers, were surprised that you were sorted into ravenclaw.
you knew your family were a long line of slytherins, but you didnt think much of it, you didnt know how importent it was, and so you were in ravenclaw, and quite happy with that.
you didnt know how much it meant to your father.
you kept your promise and sent home letters, but you never got letters back. you werent entierly sure why, and when you asked flitwich what could be the reason, he was too weak to tell you that your father may not want to write back to you, so he just said that letters sometimes go missing.
so your first 3 months at hogwarts were great, you were a top class ravenclaw and had lots of fun and friends from all houses.
but when lucius hears that his dearest daughter got sorted into ravenclaw... he wasnt as happy about it as you. he didnt bother reading your letters, except for the first one where you told him about your sorted house, the rest of your letters were all bundeled up in his bedroom table, not open.
you did get letters from draco, though none from your dad. draco knew exactly why he didnt write to you and confronted him about it, but lucius didnt change his opinion. draco didnt have the heart to tell you.

for christmas you were going home. you were so excited to go home and see your brother and father, who you havent heard from in a while, even though you two were best friends.
you got off the train with a smile, your case following you magically as you looked around for your father with a smile.
"{Y/N}!" you heard a call of your name, and turned around with a smile, lifting your arms and being met with draco. he immediatly picked you up into a hug with a big smile as you hugged back tightly.
"i missed you!" you call as he finally sets you down, brushing down your hair. "i missed you as well {Y/N}" he smiles back, chuckling as he sees your excitment, smiling as he sees your blue robes. hes proud of you, he hopes you can feel it.
"wheres daddy?" you finally ask the inevitable question, looking up at your brother with big innocent eyes. hes ready to break down and cry.
"hes home pumpkin, want ice cream?" he distracts you quickly, succesfuly, you are already running to the ice cream stand in the station while draco takes your cases and follows you, hoping that your dad will come around when you step into the house.

finally, the door to the manor malfoy is opened by an elf, and you run inside, all excited and happy, draco following suit, praying to whoever lucius is there to welcome you home. you and your father were so close, and he could only imagine the heartbreak youll feel if he doesnt talk to you.
he walks into the living room after you and gives the house elfs your cases and your bird, and looks as lucius exits his office and stands at the door.
"daddy!" you call widely. this is it. dracos heart is pounding.
lucius is silent. he looks at you with a stonic face, eyeing your robes with the ravenclaw mark on them, and then up at draco. 'dont you dare' said dracos look to his father. the older mearly lifts up his nose.
you take a step towards your father, your face scrunching up and not so happy anymore.
lucius in respond turns around and enters his office again and smashs the door closed behind him.
"huh?" you whimper, furrowing your brows and looking at the door that was just shut in your face.
draco, sighing, sits down on the sofa in the living room, looking at your back.
confused, you walk up to the door with miserable eyes and knock on the door.
you knock gently on the door and call "dad?" into the keyhole, draco could hear your hurt in your breaking voice.
your heartbeat picks up when you hear him walking closer to the door of his office, but instead of opening it, he locks the door.
"huh?" you whimper louder, putting your hand on the door handle and pull it down, but it doesnt move.
"whats happening?" you whimper, looking back to draco on the sofa, your eyes start to pool up with tears, dracos are as well and he doesnt dare look at you, he looks off to the side. he doesnt answer.
"daddy?" you call again, again pulling on the handle of the door thats still locked.
"whats happening? what did i do?" you are crying now, your voice breaking and high picthed as you slide down the door, your hand still holding down the door handle.
you sit on the floor, holding the door handle and crying, leaning on the door, your ravenclaw robes spilling under you on the marble floors as you cried.
"im sorry daddy... please..."
draco can hear your heartbreak.
